The Old Factory House

The accommodation was really good quality and comfortable.

It was also well equiped and had skysports etc which was great. Unfortunately what took away from it was the constant piped music from the Turkish restaurant below from 12pm to 22:15/2:45, dependent on when last customer left. It seemed as if their speaker was set into the ceiling (directly under our lounge floor) with as much sound going into restaurant as into our lounge. When restaurant got busy music was turned up so it felt like we were fighting the noise to be able to hear the tv. Hence the 3 stars. It would be 5 stars if the music hadn't been so intrusive.

The Old Factory House was a great base for visiting Northumberland and into Scotland.

The accommodation is in a very central location. It was clean and well equipped and the double bed was comfortable. The shower was good and there was plenty of hot water with good pressure. There are lots of books and games in the property which was a nice addition. As other reviews have mentioned there is some street noise in a morning and the music from the Turkish restaurant is heard in the lounge from around noon to 10pm, but it does stop at 10. Parking was a little difficult as all the long stay car parks are for 24 hours and then you have to move elsewhere for at least 4 hours, not sure how this is monitored. Once we found all the car parks it was ok. Overall I'd recommend the accommodation, it's in a beautiful part of the UK and worth visiting.

We had a lovely time in Berwick and would recommend anyone to use it as a base for this beautiful area.

The old factory house is very spacious and has everything you need for up to 6 people. There is one double and two with two singles. A King size bed would have been nice in the double. There is a lovely big bathroom with bath and shower, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. It was lovely and clean and we were treated to the best welcome basket ever, thank you. The location on Bridge Street is ideal, with some nice shops and plenty of places to eat and once you sus the parking out on the Chandelry it’s not a problem. On the down side, although not a busy street with no double glazing it can be noisy late evening and early morning traffic, especially if you aren’t used to it. The most annoying feature is noise from the Turkish restaurant below the property. It is mentioned in the property description but unless you are a fan of Turkish music it is rather irritating. It is only noticeable in the lounge and can be drowned out with the TV on high volume or your own music, but if you want to read a book in peace choose another room. I don’t want this to sound too negative and if we want to stay in Berwick again I wouldn’t rule out booking the same property.

We enjoyed our stay at the Old Factory.

It was on a street off the main street and so was central to the shops, restaurants, places to visit, walks and beach. If you have mobility issues it is probably not for you as there are steps up to the property, as ell as within. There may only be one bathroom but it is huge and there is also a another, separate toilet. We've been to Berwick before, so we knew where to park for free and to move between car parks so we didn't overstay. We worked out how to use the tv, once we put the batteries in one of the remotes correctly! You are also above an excellent Turkish restaurant and can hear the music from below, we weren't disturbed by it, but it is noticeable. Thank you for letting us stay, we had a good stay, plus the weather was good, we kept missing any rain showers.

Generally we were very happy with the premises.

A towel rail near the basin in the bathroom would be helpful. The music from the downstairs restaurant was generally agreeable and stopped promptly at 10 pm.

A beautiful, spacious, well equipped property in a great location, close to lovely restaurants and bars.

The communication from the owners was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

If I had to criticise one thing it would be it needs more than 1 tv (this is only because of the different ages of my children) but overall 10/10

I had a lovely stay at The Old Factory House.

It’s quite a sizeable property and would be perfectly comfortable for six people. Everything was beautifully clean and tastefully decorated with modern appointments. The kitchen feels brand new and had all you could need if you want to cook your own meals. There is ample space for a family to eat as well. The lounge is huge with a great TV and comfy seating. I loved that it still has shutters instead of modern curtains. It’s not overlooked but I closed them every night just for fun! The bedrooms are large and again, nicely decorated. The bed I used was lovely and comfortable. The only negative thing about it was that there is some noise in the mornings as you are on a shopping street and delivering happens first thing. The bathroom is enormous! Fantastic huge bath and a rainfall shower. The property is perfectly positioned to visit Berwick. It’s literally in the middle of the town. It is over a Turkish restaurant which is a must if you visit. The food is amazing and literally right downstairs! Overall the property is highly recommended. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back next year.
