Gardeners Cottage

We loved Gardener's Cottage, our family of four had a very comfortable stay.

It's well equipped and was absolutely spotless. We particularly enjoyed the wood burner in the kitchen and the beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Gardener's Cottage is a wonderfully comfortable holiday home, there has been a lot of thought put into the quality of the linens and furnishings (I have curtain envy!

) The setting is superb and the grounds well worth exploring for the wildlife and at night for the stars. The surrounding area is stunning and varied with lots of options a short drive away. Highly recommended.

The property was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and crockery etc. We had some lovely cake put out for our arrival which was appreciated. The beds were comfortable. The grounds/woodlands were amazing and are lovely to walk around. Everyone that we met were lovely friendly people. The dog liked it too. I would happily make a return visit, would love to see it in the winter.

Beautiful cottage set in a lovely estate.

Owners accommodated us at very short notice. Clean and tidy with everything we needed, very spacious and daily visits from the birds on the estate. Surrounded by lovely woodland walks. Would definately return

A beautiful place to stay.

Such a quiet relaxing home. We enjoyed the luxuries in the beautifully presented house and exploring the wild grounds and would highly recommend this property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gardener's Cottage.

Everything we needed was supplied and the cottage was warm and comfortable. Best of all was the setting - quiet and serene in the stunning Northumbrian countryside. Close to Bellingham, and close to the Roman sites along Hadrian's Wall.

Excellent facilities, and spotlessly clean. Beautiful setting. Had two minor queries which the owner sorted immediately. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. Only downside was the rather late entry time to the cottage of 5pm, and very early departure time of 9am.

Lovely property with a superb kitchen/diner and log burner.

Very spacious bedrooms all tastefully decorated. No private garden but acres of estate from your doorstep to explore and enjoy. Everyone we met was very helpful and friendly. We loved waking up to all the birds tweeting, seeing the pheasants strutting around and the gorgeous and very inquisitive Guinea fowl making their presence known! Beautiful and peaceful location within easy drive to all the key sites of local interest. Would thoroughly recommend.

A gorgeous property with loads of space inside and outside.

With the lounge being upstairs elderly or less mobile people may struggle to keep going up and down stairs. Everywhere was very clean and it had everything you needed. Fitted out to a very high standard. Would highly recommend, but it is a bit remote if you prefer to have loads of facilities on your doorstep. A great getaway property to escape to.

The accommodation is superb - very clean, well equipped and the most comfortable beds. Would highly recommend and would love to return.

We loved Gardeners Cottage.

All the rooms were lovely and well planned. There was a luxurious feel to the whole cottage. The beds were so big and comfy. The surrounding area was stunning. We loved watching the Guinea fowl and other birds in the garden. Bellingham was a great place where we could get everything we wanted (except non alcoholic beer!). We really enjoyed the stay and we were sad to leave.

The only thing we would recomend for others is to have a torch available. Saying that we so enjoyed seeing the brightness of the stars, such a lovely relaxing place for a break x

Beautiful, comfortable and spacious accommodation.

Kitchen was very well equipped. A DVD would have been a good addition in the lounge. If this is the area for your holiday then this is the property you want to be staying in.

We'll equipt, beautiful tranquil setting. The owners are helpful if needed. Enjoyed exploring the amazing grounds of Hesleyside Hall. Would totally recommend.

Fabulous relaxing stay in a wonderful setting.

Could not have asked for a better place to unwind with our 2 dogs....

lovely location, peace and quiet, wildlife, slightly let down by leaking toilet, less than adequate shower in bathroom.

We would however return to Gardeners Cottage again.

Our Sainsburys delivery arrived early & Sue was kind enough to unload it for us. There are lovely walks on the estate & the only downside is it is quite a way from the coast. The cottage was very clean & we had a most enjoyable holiday. Even the weather was good.

Beautiful nicely decorated cottage.

Fantastic location. Very peaceful. We loved watching the guinea fowls and feeding the lambs. Excellent local restaurants and pubs. Lots to do; cycling, walking, river kayaking, star gazing at Battlesteads observatory. Thank you we had a fantastic holiday.

Beautiful cottage.

Warm comfortable and has all one needs for a lovely holiday. Owners of adjoining Hesleyside Hall very pleasant and helpful and the setting is glorious. Walking round about varied and beautiful and possible to have lovely walks from the doorstep.

Superb cottage with luxury comfort and amazing linen.

Beautiful flowers left in cottage for us and lemon cake! Unobtrusive staff and owners but there if needed. Second but not last visit

A fabulous place for peace and quiet.

The cottage is wonderfully equipped and very comfortable. We have stayed at Hesleyside for about six years now and will be back next year.

Excellent holiday cottage, very high standard accommodation with lots of lovely touches.

Use of walks in the grounds and woodland of the estate was brilliant so much wildlife to be seen. The cottage is in a brilliant location for Hadrians wall, Kielder water/forest and trips to newcastle. Would highly recommend we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Really comfortable beds and bed linen meant we got a good nights sleep after busy days crammed with activity.

The cottage was warm and well equipped. It is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Northumberland

Lovely cottage and location with very spacious property.

Well equipped kitchen and large bedrooms and sitting room with helpful folder on local attractions and facilities on site. As part of an old manor estate, there were some signs of aged plaster and decor that ought to be addressed over time. On the minus side the biggest issue was that in a cold March - it was not a warm propert. Whilst it did have central heating in all the rooms the radiator valves were preset and could not be changed so no independent control of the hearing. Unfortunately a few of the radiators including the main bedroom and lounge were in need of bleeding or degunging as the heat did not pass through them leaving the rooms cold. Whilst there was a lovely wood burning stove in the dining kitchen there was only one armchair in this room so this was the only independent source of heat. Also the free sat to or box in the lounge was not working so could not be used. Both unfortunately took away on the comfort and expectations score from what otherwise was a great cottage.

Beautiful setting within Hesleyside Hall.

Spacious and comfortable cottage with flowers and cake to welcome - a personal feel. Games and magazines were appreciated and I found a set of The New Book of Knowledge which my parents had on our bookshelves back in South Africa when I was growing up - nostalgic delight! Poppy the beagle loved the walks and terrain. A pleasure to stay in this well-appointed and attractive holiday home - we all loved it.

Gardeners Cottage was an oasis of peace and calm.

It's location provided silence with the exception of a few owls. EVERYTHING in the cottage had a luxurious feel and there were thoughtful touches everywhere. I've never known a bed so comfy and the bedding was beautiful quality. I can't think of any constructive criticism as it was just perfect. Thank you. We will definitely return.

The location of the cottage on the outskirts of Bellingham is a haven for those wanting a quiet restful holiday with the luxury of excellent amenities near by.

The cottage has all the comforts you could want and excellent walks from the front door.
