We really enjoyed our stay at Miner's Cottage.

The Cottage was so clean cosy and comfortable (It was immaculate). Was so quiet and peaceful a lovely part of Northumberland. Thankyou Kelly for the lovely welcome basket much appreciated. And for all the information and being so caring. Couldn't fault a thing Thankyou .

The cottage was perfect in a peaceful location and was spotlessly clean with some thoughtful personal touches.

Kelly was an excellent host and I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the area. I cannot fault anything and hope to return.

The Miner's Cottage is one of the best properties we have ever had the pleasure to stay in and we have used cottages for decades.

The only issue we had was the rather soft bed but other people would likely be fine with this as it's a matter of personal taste. The location of the cottage is excellent being only a short drive to the centre of Berwick and very close to the A1. It is also handy for supplies with M&S food, Lidl, Asda and Tesco being quite close. The coast is nearby with Cocklaw Burn and Spittal beaches accessible. There is also a bus stop within walking distance. For eats we would recommend Marshalls café and Pot-a-doodle-do restaurant both within walking distance for some. The cottage itself is recently renovated to a very high standard and the facilities are excellent. We were fascinated by Larry the robot grass cutter in the large rear garden with comfortable seating and a big table. We were pleased to meet the owner Kelly and have a chat as we were leaving. All in all we would thoroughly recommend Miners Cottage and hope to return next year.

So comfortable, extremely clean and the attention to detail was perfect. Kelly is a great host, lovely welcome basket and the Salt and Pepper Jar is genius. Great location for everything. Neighbours were so friendly, would highly recommend staying. Will be going back.

A beautiful decorated and extremely clean cottage, one of the best we've stayed in.

Plenty of space and big garden. The welcome basket was excellent containing essentials and lots of goodies. Kelly very helpful from start to finish. Would highly recommend staying here, gorgeous, loved reading the history of the cottage too, and lots to do in the area.

Our only dampener was the weather and not much can be done about that! Kelly was an attentive host and the only thing that stopped full marks for facilities was the very small and shallow basin in the en-suite bathroom. Would visit again.

It is beautifully decorated and maintained at a very high standard. There is everything you could possibly need there. The location is ideal for beach and town, and as a base to explore the wider area. Our host was very helpful before and during the stay. Also the welcome pack was much appreciated. Fantastic accommodations and a very attentive host.

Comfortable, well set-up terraced cottage in a quiet location with good access to nearby coast, Berwick and A1.

Good parking on v quiet road. No issues at all and Kelly, owner, happy to resolve anything that cropped up. We got a nice, practical welcome pack. The kitchen had that was needed for a full house. We had a really nice stay, outside weather a bit parky for May, but cottage was warm and cosy, recently fully renovated. Highly recommended.

Our second stay at Miners Cottage, this time for 7 days.

We had a wonderful time. The Cottage is so pretty, clean and had everything we needed. Kelly kept in touch and made sure everything was as we expected. She left a very nice welcome hamper, which was much appreciated. Thank you, Kelly.

Our third visit to this wonderful cottage.

Kelly goes over and above to make your stay enjoyable, from the lovely goodie basket to Easter eggs and games for the grandchildren, as well as decorating the cottage. Nothing is too much trouble and she is super responsive to any issue. The cottage is always immaculate and comfortable and the kitchen really well stocked. Parking outside is always available. Already looking to book a return visit.

This was our third stay in Miners cottage and as on the previous visits it was immaculate when we arrived, including the entrance approach, the patio, patio furniture and the garden.

The cottage is a perfect place to relax after a bracing coastal walk or sightseeing in Edinburgh or Newcastle. We can recommend taking the train to both cities. If booked in advance the fares are reasonably priced and the services between Berwick and both cities are frequent and reliable. We thoroughly enjoyed our week although the weather was wet and windy at times. We will be back next year.

Another wonderful stay at Miners Cottage!

The cottage is lovely and homely and has everything you need even for those rainy days! The cottage is in a peaceful location and convenient for attractions in the area and for your food shopping. It's also easy to pop into Berwick Upon Tweed to catch a train to either Newcastle or Edinburgh. The welcome pack from Kelly was much appreciated and our 4-year-old was very excited to see a pack of sweets on his pillow. Kelly provided us with everything we needed to know beforehand and when there was a small problem during our stay Kelly was easy to contact. We would definitely recommend the cottage. Looking forward to our stay next year.

A superb cottage in every way, very clean, immaculately presented, comfy beds, with everything provided that you could possibly need and all top quality.

Stayed in many cottages on our annual golf trips and this was the best one we have rented. Kelly the owner is a lovely lady and her communication is first class. We couldn't fault anything. 10-10.

Another lovely holiday at the Miner’s Cottage.

Kelly makes the place so comfortable and homely, it’s always a wrench to leave. Comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge and a lovely private garden to sit out in. Parking for 2 cars outside the property. This time our granddaughter chose to spend her 5th birthday here instead of at home, praise indeed! We’re hoping to return soon.

We had a lovely week at the Miners Cottage, which was beautifully furnished, very comfortable and impeccably clean.

We were very grateful to our host Kelly for the welcome treats and the tips about local outings and restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay again. The location was great for quickly popping into Berwick by car and using the central free long stay car park (bit too far for us to walk in). We loved walking the walls in Berwick and trying out the independent cafes like Northern Soul and the Chandlery. We did lots of pleasant walks from the cottage on the coastal park and to the nearby beach. Also many great places to visit 10-30 minutes drive away eg Bamburgh, Etal and Lindisfarne well worth a visit. We even took the train to Edinburgh. Highly recommend the cottage.

We were very happy with our stay at Miners Cottage.

It was spotlessly clean, very pretty and situated at the edge of the Village with countryside all around. Parking for our two cars was so convenient. We had everything we needed to enjoy our little holiday and Kelly had left us a very generous welcome pack along with a lovely greeting. She had thought of everything, even chocolates on the pillows and sweets for our 9 year old traveller. He was so pleased with the swing ball and games provided and when asked, rated the holiday at 1 million stars! I can only give 5 stars. Thank you, Kelly

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 3 nights at Miners Cottage, near Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

It was spotless on arrival, very well appointed and every bit as good as the photos on the website. Communication with Kelly was excellent and we were thrilled to find a small welcome pack comprising some essentials and a few little treats when we arrived. We found the location excellent for exploring the area and loved sitting on the south facing patio enjoying breakfast or just a cup of tea and a chat. Don’t hesitate if thinking about a stay here, just do it!

The cottage was lovely, well maintained and very clean. We contacted Kelly due to lack of bread knife which she replaced the same day. If visiting the area in future we would very happily stay again.

Our second stay in Miners Cottage and it was just as good as the first.

The cottage was pristine on our arrival with a very generous welcome pack in the kitchen. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and apartments and this is definitely the best. It is spacious, bright with lots of natural light in the living room, comfortable, extremely well equipped and conveniently located for both the coast and the Scottish borders. We are already booked to return in November and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

My Wife, three daughters and I rented Miners Cottage for a week during Easter 2025.

The property is finished to a very high standard, was equipped with everything that we needed whilst also retaining a homely feel which we particularly appreciated. We found the cottage to be exceptionally comfortable and provided a fantastic base to explore the fantastic heritage of the North East. Location wise the property couldn't be better and saw us able to explore a variety of attractions from Newcastle to Edinburgh. The semi rural setting was nice and quiet, and having Berwick with it comprehensive amenities just a five minute drive away was very convenient. The property owner (Kelly) was brilliantly attentive without being obtrusive. The welcome pack at the property was appreciated after a long drive and the Easter Eggs left for each of our girls was a particularly charming touch. Would have zero hesitation in either recommending to others or letting again if returning to the area.

A real home from home.

Spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable beds. Spacious lounge. Kitchen very well equipped. Lovely welcome basket provided, even colouring books for the grandchildren. We spent a lovely Christmas here. Kelly thoughtfully decorated the cottage for us, which was wonderful. Will definitely be booking again.

We have been visiting the area for some 30 years with family living nearby.

We’ve stayed at a number of different types of accommodation over the years and this cottage was one of the best. It has clearly been modernised to a high standard, it’s comfortable, all the facilities we needed and a great location to explore the area. Communication with Kelly was excellent so thank you.

Easy to find. Good clear instructions and communication from the owner. Very well equipped, very clean, very comfortable and love the family history behind the property. An outstanding cottage.

It has been beautifully renovated and furnished by the owner. The living room is very comfortable and has a lovely outlook on to the pristine patio and lawn. The kitchen is very well equipped for those who want to cook their own meals. The beds are very comfortable and the shower in the en-suite is excellent. The cottage is in a very quiet rural setting yet is only 2 miles from Berwick. We had a great week in the cottage both sightseeing and walking various sections of the England Coastal Path. We'll be back.

Wow, A beautiful property in a nice peaceful location.

We really enjoyed our stay at Miner’s Cottage and will 100% return. The welcome hamper was well received (Leo loved his chocolate)and very thoughtful. Kelly is a really great host who went out of her way for our needs,really couldn’t have asked for more. The cottage is ideally located to visit the tourist attractions.Our favourites have to be Bamburgh castle,Holy Island,Lindisfarne & Farne islands.A boat trip a must to one of the islands,I’d recommended the light house trip,there’s only one trip that you can get off the boat for this one.These can be purchased from Seahouses,which is also a lovely village worth visiting,not far from the cottage. Cragside(National trust)is also worth a visit,about an hours drive,but well worth it,as is Alnwick castle and village. Thank you Kelly & family for letting us enjoy your cottage. Richard & family

What an absolute pleasure to stay here for a second time - as always the host was very friendly and helpful, the cottage is very clean and cosy giving you a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere.

Right from setting foot in the door and being greeted with a welcome tray and a lovely personal touch of a card welcoming us in, right through to a well maintained, impeccably clean home. With 3 difficult-to-please children, I was delighted to hear nothing but praise for the house from them, to the extent that they didn't want to leave! A great place in a lovely setting perfect for any time of the year
