Fantastic 'goodies' were there on arrival.

Lovely to see lambs, chickens, house martin's and the surrounding countryside!

This is our 5th visit to Rede River Cottage and we have booked again for next year.

The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, clean, spacious and the welcome pack is amazing! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, the beds are so comfortable and Julia and Steve keep it well maintained and clean, it’s a real credit to their hard work. The surroundings are so relaxing and beautiful, a place to switch off and enjoy the wildlife. It’s our favourite place to go and we never tire of it. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Beautiful house with everything you could need.

Very remote- you will need a car. Loved it for a quiet break for grown up family who all needed own space and own bathrooms!

Comfortable cottage, spotlessly clean.

Good selection of kitchen utensils and crockery. Very substantial "welcome pack" provided, very much appreciated.

Accommodation was fantastic could not fault it, set in the most beautiful surroundings so relaxing.

The welcome pack was unreal so many supplies, we have stayed in many cottages over the years but never had a welcome pack like this before 10 out of 10 . Kind regards Marie & Geoff

This is our 4th visit and we are back in August.

We love it at Rede River Cottage, it’s a place to switch off and relax. It’s spotlessly clean, everything you need is provided for and the welcome pack is amazing. Steve and Julia are lovely and friendly and on hand if needed. The cottage surroundings are stunning with wildlife, swallows nesting and peace and quiet. We bring my elderly parents and aunty and it’s perfect for us with everyone having their own en suite, all on one level, comfortable living room and brilliant kitchen. We honestly cannot fault one thing and cannot wait to return to our little haven at rede river cottage x

Nice isolated position

We had the most wonderful holiday staying at Rede river cottage.

The scenery surrounding the cottage is beautiful. The accommodation is spacious clean and very comfortable. The owners welcome supplies were fabulous! The owners were very friendly and available if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend staying at Rede River cottage. In fact we are staying next year!

The cottage ticks all the boxes.

It is very clean and comfortable with all the amenities that you need ,the country side around the cottage is breath taking and with fishing just meters away what more do you need. The welcome pack is amazing bacon, sausage, eggs ,butter, bread, milk, orange juice, cereals, Julia and Steve are very helpful and friendly they are there if you need them. we would highly recommend their cottage to anyone. The weather was good too, the holiday was very relaxing, we visited Kielder water Corbridge, Hexham Its a good drive to most places but a nice drive, we will return.

Such a comfortable welcoming cottage.Beautiful surroundings and countryside.We didn't watch the tv at all- too many lambs in the field to entertain us- so funny charging up and down in little gangs.Its just an idyllic week where you can relax and re-charge your mental and physical batteries.we have booked another week next year.

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage and couldn’t have asked for more.

The location is beautiful, set on a peaceful farm with animals right outside in the fields, which made the whole experience feel really special and relaxing. The cottage itself was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and clearly very well cared for. Everything felt comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, and the lovely welcome pack was a really nice touch that made us feel at home straight away. We can’t recommend this place enough and would love to stay again in the future.

The property has everything you need for your stay..all high end quality from kitchen appliances and utensils to 3 top quality double bedrooms with outstanding en suite bathrooms.. Julia and Steve our hosts provided an amazing welcome pack of sausage.bacon.eggs.bread cheese.. breakfast cereal..the list goes on..and nothing was too much trouble for them if we had queries or questions..we absolutely loved staying at Rede river cottage and aim to return.... A beautiful cottage perfect for our family of 3 couples.

Very spacious, comfortable beds and luxury bathrooms. Kitchen was really well equipped for us to cook meals. The owners also provided food for a full breakfast, a generous fruit bowl and some drinks. Coffee machine with pods was a lovely treat. The location was stunning.

Wow, Wow, Wow What a beautiful place, situated in gorgeous countryside, giving the desired peace and Quiet, from the outstanding Welcome pack, to the attentiveness from the hosts Julia and Steve, it's the perfect place to stay!

This is my 3rd stay at this stunning property… Silence is golden … Remote and beautiful Hikers delight or a drive away to the coast and other beautiful places .

. I have been to many places but this is my absolute favourite.. The owners Julia and Steve are amazing and so very helpful, they live onsite .. Another stay will be on the agenda!!!

Very comfortable and accessible accommodation.

For us also a super location, close to areas of interest in north England and in Scotland. Return visit by us and not the last hopefully. November snow did not impede days out.

The cottage is very clean , has a good standard of decoration and furnishing , very well equipped everything you could possibly need ! The owners had left a very generous welcome hamper which was very much appreciated .The property is in a rural location with fantastic views from every window , it was very quiet there which we absolutely loved .

Fantastic Cottage in a beautiful part of Northumberland.

A very generous welcome pack on arrival. Kitchen had everything we needed. Fun was had fishing in the lake on the propwrty. We had a very relaxing week and would stay there again.

The cottage is absolutely stunning, comfortable, spacious and very well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped and large. The views are amazing and we were fortunate to sit outside this year in the sunshine til approx 10pm. The welcome pack is unbelievable, best we've ever had, sausage, bacon, eggs, butter, milk, fresh orange juice, bread, cereal, beans, tea, coffee, sugar, marmalade and a massive bowl of fruit and a bottle of bubbly

We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous cottage.

Set in peaceful surroundings, we were delighted to spot deer, hares, housemartins, and rabbits right outside, a real treat for nature lovers. The welcome pack was incredibly generous and much appreciated on arrival. The cottage is all on one level, which made it ideal for my elderly mother, who was able to move around easily with her walking frame. It is a great base for days out in the area, and the owners were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. We’d love to return!

I can honestly say that this was the best cottage I think we have ever stayed in.

The cottage has everything you could want inside and out and the location was amazing wildlife all around and the views fantastic. The welcome pack was very generous indeed. The cottage is a great base to explore Northumberland and the Scottish borders or just relax in the garden.

Loved watching the wildlife in the garden. Lovely welcome hamper with everything that you would need for breakfast. Great that you can purchase the eggs to take home from the very friendly hens that come to visit. We would definitely book again when going back to Northumberland.

"Amazing cottage in a beautiful countryside setting" We especially enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage with it being rural and found it very peaceful and tranquil, the bungalow has stunning views from every window of the property.

It was nice to receive a very generous welcome pack and the other essentials the hosts left for us this made our holiday very enjoyable.The cottage was cosy and we enjoyed watching the sheep with their little lambs running in the fields. also the hens that visited everyday. Immaculately maintained and clean cottage with well equipped kitchen with everything you need, cosy lounge/dining room and comfortable bedrooms with lovely spacious ensuites. We visited the lovely towns in Northumberland and also had a trip to Newcastle and Edingbugh.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Rede River Cottage.

A very comfortable and welcoming home from home.An incredibly generous welcome pack- more an extensive hamper of goodies-greeted us. A beautiful property on a working farm.It was so thrilling for us to watch the ewes with their lambs at close quarters as one of their pastures ran alongside the garden.We barely watched tv as the lambs were so entertaining and adorable! In addition a curious quartet of hens would visit in the the afternoon and ravage the carefully cultivated flower bed looking for hidden treasure and then toddle off again! Wildlife galore to see too- rabbits, hares, deer,red kites hovering,pheasants waddling along the side of the road- the splendid males too keen on impressing their lady loves to bother about road safety! Just amazing and life affirming- mindfulness at its very best. We explored the surrounding area- rich in Roman history of course and visited the Kielder Forest and Water- stunningly beautiful and we found some lovely places to eat out. All in all a wonderful week- real peace and quiet and some lovely sunny days in a beautiful part of the world. Thank you so much Steve and Julia you have created a lovely space for people to enjoy a truly refreshing holiday. I cannot recommend Rede River Cottage enough.Do yourselves a favour and try it. We will definitely be back! We will definitely

WOW !

! This is not so much a cottage,as a 5 star hotel. From the moment we pulled up the cottage delivered. The welcome pack, sausages, eggs, bacon, milk, fruit, juice, wine, on and on. It is so beautiful, and is filled with everything you could possibly need ( lots you dont need but are there anyway). So clean and comfortable with delightful owners. If we were the type to keep going to the same place on holiday this would be top of the list. Oh, its set in beautiful countryside as well. Thank you Julia our stay was fantastic xxxx

Wonderful cottage in a remote but beautiful location with stunning views.

The property is in immaculate condition with everything you could want for a week or two week stay. The hosts made the five of us (all adults) very welcome with superb cooked breakfast products including eggs from their own chickens or cereals and fruit if you preferred. There are several pubs within a 15 minute drive offering varied menus but check the reviews as some are better than others. There are plenty of National trust or English Heritage properties to visit within 30 Mins to an hours drive and of course Castles, wonderful beaches, stunning walks and Water Falls (high force) a little further away to entertain any family or group. Rede River cottage is highly recommended by everyone in our group

It’s the most beautiful place, the cottage is clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. The welcome pack is amazing, the owners are lovely with nothing too much trouble, we cannot recommend this place enough. We loved sitting out at night watching the sunsets and the wildlife. Quiet and beautiful surroundings, sunsets were amazing. Enjoyed watching the wildlife, hares, chickens, cows, calfs etc.. The cottage is very well equipped, very spacious and comfortable. When we arrived there was a large bowl of fruit, a bottle of prosceco and a fantastic breakfast pack, much appreciated

What a fantastic find! Lovely views, very relaxing place, and easy for my disabled friend. Steve and Julia were lovely and welcoming; they left us a fantastic welcome pack. The cottage was immaculate and so comfortable. We also loved the Bay Horse Inn down the road. Lots of wildlife around to watch Highly recommend!!

Very cold on first entering the cottage.

Very helpful when informing us where the keys would be and responded quick when we initially could not log on to the Wi-Fi. I do feel there should be more information regarding the water situation which is in the hand book but should be online too. As we would have brought plenty of bottled water with us. When I messaged the host to see if they had any bottled water or if they would be going to the supermarket the host did not respond. Which left my daughter and I feeling very uncomfortable. I did find this rude. Maybe they were uncomfortable with us being in there property. This definitely affected our stay in the cottage and would not book again.

The best holiday cottage we have stayed in!

! the welcome pack was amazing, everything you needed was there. The cottage was clean, very comfortable and very well presented. Julia and Steve were lovely, very friendly with nothing too much trouble. The surrounding area to the cottage was outstanding, so beautiful, quiet and full of wildlife. Sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine watching the sunset and watching the local wildlife was heaven. We honestly did not want to leave, this place is stunning and a credit to its hosts. Can’t wait to visit again next year x

We stay in rental properties 2 or 3 times a year and have just returned from a two week stay at Rede River Cottage.

The cottage is in a lovely setting a mile from a main road so really quiet. However was a little disappointed that the owner, who was in the driveway when we arrived, didn’t walk up to greet us, introduce themselves and go through a few things with us, which is really unusual. When the shopping turned up 1/2 hour later we struggled finding the freezer which was in the cupboard in the entrance hall and later finding the glasses. The kitchen is a lovely size but let down by only having a 6 place crockery and mug set. There are lots of cupboards not being used and a 12 piece crockery and mug set would be more economical by being able to fully load the dishwasher. As other comments have mentioned, the property was very clean and a lovely welcome pack left for us. Every bedroom had a ensuite with two having lovely big baths, and big walk in showers which was nice, and a shower to the other one. Also lots of lovely big fluffy towels The owners were really reactive when we had a little bird come down the log burner chimney which was lovely. For me, to give it a 5 star, a few things need addressing. The sleigh bed is beautiful but really creaky so we ended up moving out into another bed. The pillows could do with an upgrade as they are very thin and uncomfortable, Finally, with farm traffic, owners, visitors, we found the property, especially two of the bedrooms very overlooked from the driveway, a few more shrubs would cure this including the garden being very overlooked from the owners property/field and the road, again would be rectified by a few more shrubs. With these few adjustments this would be a beautiful holiday escape

Three couples from different corners of the world met at Rede River Cottage for a long awaited reunion.

The cottage was perfect, 3 ensuited bedrooms, large comfortable living spaces, lovely rural outlooks and thank you so much for the breakfast pack. Enough goodies to make a full hot breakfast for the 6 of us. We made good use of the beautifully appointed kitchen, everything needed to cater for our group.

A wonderfully clean and spacious well equipped modern property, in excellent order throughout, situated in a picturesque tranquil rural location.

This was our fourth visit to Rede River.

It is still the best holiday cottage we know of in the country. Wonderfully quiet, superb views and walking from the door, luxurious (bathrooms and showers especially), fully equipped kitchen and excellent welcome pack. Steve and Julia are charming hosts. The only disappointment is having to leave at the end of the stay! Thank you once again.

Great property in a idyllic location especially if you are wanting to get away from it all.

Good walking routes and connection to Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Luxury house and everything you need is provided. Only 2 of us but would be ideal for larger families and family gatherings. Would definitely return.

Excellent home from home, perfect for a family Christmas.

The property was lovely and warm and at time a little too warm did not need to light the fire. The bedroom were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped even having an ice machine that was very useful, what I would suggest is another set of basic crockery as there were only 6 mugs, plates and bowls so with 6 people your were having to keep washing up after every cup,of tea. Also a coffee pot would have been useful in addition to the very fancy coffee machine. Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully we will be back.

Spotless and a very high standard interior. Welcome pack was fantastic (and a bit more). Surrounding area is ideal for walks and exploring. Cottage ideally locate for visiting other areas of interest. Already booked to return next year.

Beautiful cottage in the amazing rural countryside.

Very peaceful and quiet. Outstanding views all around. We loved seeing the hares and the cows from the garden. The cottage was exceptionally clean and is very well maintained to a high standard. Large comfortable lounge, and well equipped kitchen with plenty of cutlery too!! Spacious bedrooms and fabulous en-suite bathrooms. Exceptional location, bungalow was very spacious and well equipped.

Very remote which suited us. Managed a tour of the farm, it was great to learn about the farm. Very happy to recommend Rede River Cottage , and we will return later this year or in 2023

The cottage was excellent.

There's lots of room, the beds are very comfortable and the whole place was clean and well maintained. The location is wonderful with fantastic views of the countryside.

The welcome pack was beyond anything I have seen before, and the dining area was arranged perfectly for our first meal. We'll placed property for visiting a number of attractions or take walks from the cottage itself. Lovely and quiet, a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy the countryside and all that nature itself provides.

The property is just stunning the pictures are completely accurate.

The sheer size and space of the cottage is amazing and the owners go the extra mile to make your stay even better. I’ve never had a welcome pack with so many items in it and the extra care to provide gluten free for us was extremely thoughtful. The location is just wonderful on a clear night you can just look at the stars so clearly and the scenery during the day is beautiful. We used it as a base for our daily outings and it was a pleasure coming back to spend our evenings there. Cannot recommend this cottage enough it will not disappoint

The cottage was in such a peaceful setting with stunning views across the Northumberland countryside.

The welcome pack was outstanding. All the provisions you could possibly need. The cottage was spacious and the bedrooms and bathrooms are quite luxurious.

Our third time staying at Rede River so I won’t repeat comments from my previous reviews…all I will say is if we could move in tomorrow and live there permanently then we would do so like a shot, I think that’s the best compliment I can give!

Absolutely superb property, location, owners…everything!

This cottage/bungalow is the most fabulous place we have stayed.

The accommodation is second to none, welcome food package on arrival, everything you need to start an amazing holiday break. Great for just relaxing, watching the wildlife, loads of great walks, stunning scenery and places of interest a short drive away if you start to miss the shops. The owners Julie & Steve are so lovely, friendly and helpful. This was perfect for my elderly father to get around with his walker, so peaceful and relaxing. Can’t wait to book again.

This cottage was by far the best one we have stayed in.

It was spacious, immaculate and very comfortable. The owners left a very generous welcome pack which we enjoyed and every little detail had been thought of to make our stay very enjoyable. There are some beautiful villages and quaint places to visit and the countryside was breathtaking and the roads extremely quiet especially in the evening. We would definitely visit this area of the UK again some time and stay at Rede River Cottage without any question.

.one of our favourite cottages and a great size for 6 people, plenty of space and every bedroom has an en-suite which is great...every facility is included and the welcome pack is second to none...loads to see and do around the area and lovely walks from the cottage door...the owners are unobtrusive but friendly and this cottage is a credit to them...have already booked again for next year!

The quality of this cottage was exceptional, the attention to detail was awesome it really felt like a home from home the owners were really gracious in taking our shopping inside when we got stuck in traffic.

Due to circumstances we as a family had not had a break together since last year so we were really impressed and would definitely book this place again in the future.☺️

Rede River Cottage is in a beautiful location with lovely long views and is completely peaceful and quiet.

We watched the hares in the field behind us and shared morning coffee with oyster catchers on their way to the coast. The cottage is luxuriously furnished and has lots of space to move around, very useful with small children. It is well placed to visit Hadrian's Wall, a variety of National Trust places and the Angel of the North. Our hosts were friendly and left a very generous welcome pack which made us feel at home straight away. We would love to return in the Dark Skye Season.

Stunning location, if you like remoteness and views!

Very private even though cottage is on a farm. Cottage is beautiful very spacious and comes with wood burner We had an amazing week ! Easy to get around so lots to see and do.

Rede River Cottage was a warm, extremely spacious and well equipped quality, ground floor cottage with the most generous welcome pack we have ever come across!

Julia was so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and the eggs supplied from their own hens on the farm were delicious! It was a peaceful base, enjoying dark skies, just a few miles from the small town of Bellingham and its fabulous, friendly Carriages Tearoom, and close to Otterburn with its convenience store and Otterburn Mill. The main purpose of our visit was for the 'Astrophotography' and 'Marvellous Milky Way' evenings at The Kielder Observatory about 30 miles from the property. This is a great place to visit even when it's cloudy like it was for us...luckily by the time we returned late to the cottage we had clear skies to see the stars. The enthusiastic and experienced young staff keep you well entertained and educated even when it is cloudy. Hexham was a nice town to visit with a large and impressive Abbey with 'Big Story' display and its own nice tearoom. Roman sites along Hadrian's Wall are close by. The cottage isn't far from the Scottish border and small, lovely villages like Rothbury. Kielder Water is great for exploring its footpaths in the forest, visiting the skewed viaduct on the dismantled railway line near Kielder village, and for watching the bird life in the forest and on the reservoir from the hides there. On this visit we didn't go to the spectacular Northumberland coast so familiar to us, or to Newcastle, but these can be highly recommended to new visitors to the area. A highly satisfying visit to Rede River Cottage and Kielder.

The cottage was more spacious than the photographs show.

It was very clean, and every item you could need was there. A brilliant welcome hamper of high quality items made as feel really looked after. The views from the cottage were also even better than we expected. It was a beautiful sunny Autumn week for us, nothing could have been improved upon!

What a fabulous cottage in idyllic peaceful surroundings!

The photos don’t do justice to the super spacious, and spotlessly clean, accommodation which is fitted out to very high standard and is a credit to the owners. It had everything our family of 6 adults needed for a relaxing stay, including a super welcome pack! There are walks aplenty on the doorstep and numerous places to visit within a short drive. I can’t recommend Rede River Cottage highly enough, if you stay here you won’t be disappointed!

The bedrooms and bathrooms were so spacious as well as the lounge and kitchen. Some places say that they are for six adults and come up a bit short. Not Rede River Cottage, it has plenty of space. The welcome pack that is provided is brilliant. Enough for your first breakfast and then some. A large fruit bowl, cereals and a nice bottle of prosecco. A lovely surprise. A lamp in the lounge would make a difference, rather than having the main lights on, plus a larger frying pan for the kitchen. Very minor things to bring up as we had a fantastic stay and we are looking to return early next year. Thanks very much Julia.

Rede river cottage was probably the best we have stayed in.

Large, comfortable ,clean ,every thing you could want in the kitchen and a great wood burner. The week we had was pretty awful weather wise but coming back each day was a pleasure. The welcome pack wes incredible also, especially the eggs!!! All that and fantastic scenery even watching the rain come over was spectacular!.

Fantastic property with everything you could need.

Lots of extra things that you might forget to take are there to use. Really quiet location and very friendly farmers who were not intrusive at all. Property is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Great location to reach everything in the area. We had a wonderful holiday there.

The location , friendliness of the owners and the high quality accommodation was second to none.

It was ideal for us because having elderly relatives with us, they were able to get around the cottage easily with it being all one level and they enjoyed watching the lambs being born in the nearby fields.

We had stayed at Rede River Cottage for a week two months previously and enjoyed it so much we came back as soon as we could.

An exceptional cottage, superb location and friendly hosts with plenty of knowledge of the local area and things to do.

We were a party of 6 friends staying at Rede River Cottage ,it is a beautiful cottage ,loved the views a relaxing get away from it all cottage ,the welcome pack exceeded our expectations ,it was great .

Exceptional property done to the highest standards with every amenity you could ask for in a self catering cottage. A real gem! Peaceful rural location in the midst of glorious country side and many attractions within a short drive. For a change of pace Newcastle City is an hour away as is the Northumberland coast with its many attractions. What ever the weather the Kielder Forest makes for a good day out, make sure to visit the Birds of Prey Center and pre-book a special experience with them. We will certainly recommend this cottage to family and friends.

Cannot recommend highly enough.

Beautifully appointed cottage in tranquil and remote location. Particularly appreciated that the kitchen was fully stocked with all basic ingredients (salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil, vinegar, ketchup etc) and then superb breakfast all provided from local produce. Thank you for a perfect week.

What an amazing cottage !

!!....in the most idyllic location with amazing views of the beautiful surrounding countryside from every window, we just loved the peace and quite, such a spacious cottage and everything was of the highest standard and cleanliness ....top class !!! The owners we really helpful....such lovely people and provided us with the most amazing "welcome pack"... so generous !! thank you Julia & Steve, it was much appreciated. The cottage is absolutely beautiful.

The whole place is furnished to an extremely high standard. It was a lovely touch to have all the essentials left for us ie lovely bread, fresh eggs, cereals and so much more that we didn’t expect. The views are amazing!!! Anyone who visits the cottage couldn’t fail to love I it and enjoy their stay, will definitely be back.
