Very comfortable stay in a quiet setting, surrounded by atteactive countryside.

The property was immaculately clean and very well equipped.

The bed was very comfortable with extra pillows and throws should we have needed them. It was lovely and warm with the beautiful arched windows catching the morning sun making it a lovely area to eat breakfast in. The property is in a quaint quadrangle paved with pretty cobbles and has plenty of parking space making it easy to unload and load a car. A bright, comfortable property, one of the best we have stayed in.

The Mistal is set in beautiful surroundings with places of interest easily accessible by car.

The cottage has been beautifully converted, is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We would recommend staying here and would happily do so again.

We had a great week. People friendly, lots of nice walks nearby. Easy access to many places like Alnwick castle and gardens, National Trust places many. We went to Wallington very nice easy access lovely walks ,lots for everyone to do. Would well recommend .

Lovely cottage, exactly as described.

It was warm and nicely furnished. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked. We were able to cook meals knowing that all the equipment we required was provided. Even the can opener worked well, and I know how hard it can be to get a decent can opener! The only thing missing was washing powder, so just remember to take some with you. However, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, sponge, cloth, tea towel and surface cleaners were plentiful. The cottage is perfectly situated 0.5 miles from the A697, and Alnwick was just 20 minutes away. Parking in Alnwick was free! Loads of attractions and restaurants within easy reach. Excellent choice for a week away exploring a gorgeous county.

We loved Mistal.

It was well equipped with everything you might need. I felt very comfortable that everything had been cleaned properly. I am a Celiac, often need to clean work surfaces etc before I can use them because of cross contamination. No such worries at Mistal. A great central location with the Beamish Valley Park, historical towns, Cragside National Trust and the coast within easy reach. We will definitely be back, there is still lots to do and see we didn’t have time for.

I’m actually feel this was one of the best equips holiday home I’ve stayed at.

Lovely place lovely location. Only minor drawback is the lack of secure outside space (for dogs and kids) tho this is made clear on the listing. Would certainly recommend and would happily be back. If only all holiday lets were done to such a high standard.

A lovely property in a brilliant location. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed and it was so clean and comfortable. All the information that was in the property was easy to follow and really helpful, and the pint of milk and dog treats which were left for us were a lovely touch. We’ll definitely return again!

Very well equipped.

You dont need to pack soap or blankets or anything. Very clean and not far from most of the sites and shops etc so a good base for your holiday. Only downside was it's bath over shower rather than a walk in but does come with bath matts. Harder to reccomend to older family members which is the reason for mentioning as it was quite a drop out of it. The shower itself was high pressure and lovely. You could walk out the courtyard to a grassy lane with a dog poo bin which I was impressed with. Great cottage in a great location.

Contact prior ( key information), during ( we randomly met on first evening at nearby pub and got chatting) , and afterwards ( I left an item) was a breeze.

The Mistral is a lovely property, very well equipped and set in a lovely village with beautiful countryside on your door step.

The kitchen had everything you could possibly need! I have fallen in love with the area and will be back. My only negative involves the wheelie bins which were full when we arrived, were not emptied during the week long stay and then when we added our rubbish they became overfull. I know this is down to refuse collection and not the cottage owners, but still a smelly issue that could do with addressing.

Another wonderful week at this cottage.

It is a real home from home and a lovely peaceful retreat. So comfortable and the owners have thought of your every need there after a day out exploring the countryside as we love to do. My only slight criticism is that you have to strip the beds and empty all the bins before leaving. I could appreciate it during the covid period but that is behind us now. There are only 2 of us so it didn't take long but if you have a couple children and dogs it's alot to do before you get going I'm sure. You don't have to do these chores in alot of places and shouldn't it be for the cleaners to do?

We had a lovely state in this great cottage.

It is well maintained, so well furnished with all the essentials that you need, which you don't always get with other holiday lets. The owners were also extremely prompt and attentive when we had a query on the cottage. The cottage has off-road parking, and is in a great location for so many of the local towns and attractions. We would definitely return to this cottage.

We stayed at the Mistal with our three sons and three dogs and we absolutely loved it.

The house was lovely and comfortable, it was really well presented and spotless and immediately felt like home. The owners have really given thought to every detail and there wasn't a thing that we could have needed or wished for in addition to what had been provided. They even left some milk and three packets of dog biscuits for us upon arrival. We have stayed in a lot of cottages in the NE as we are often up visiting family, this is the only one we would return to. In fact, we considered not leaving

We had a great week at The Mistal.

For us and our well-behaved elderly Springer Spaniel the accommodation was perfect and in a great location between 15 and 30 mins from 'everywhere we'd planned to visit'. We'll certainly be recommending this as a very comfortable and well-appointed base from which to explore the area.

It is thoughtfully kitted out with everything you might possibly need, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. It's a real home from home. Well situated to explore the Northumberland countryside and coast. We highly recommend this place, don't hesitate, make a booking!

The cottage had everything we could have hope for and more.

It was clean and tidy, spacious and in a good area for accessing the coast but away from the madding crowd. We took 3 well behaved dogs and although a garden for them would have been ideal, there was a lane nearby to take them out. We certainly won’t hesitate in going back to this lovely cottage when we are next in the area. Many many thanks for a wonderful week and even the weather was fantastic.

We were really impressed with the house.

It was really well set up as a let with quality furniture, kitchen ware etc which was great to see as it makes the experience so much nicer. Also all the thoughtful touches like cleaning equipment in cupboard up high shows again how well youve thought through the let. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

We were really happy with the cottage. The location was excellent, with lots of places to visit, beautiful walks and of course the coast. As a family we had a fantastic holiday, and we would live to cone back.

We were fortunate to find this available for 2-nights after a change in our plans.

Very well equipped and spacious kitchen and dining area with the adjacent lounge. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Being a stables/barn conversion do need to watch head where beams slope in bedrooms but bedrooms also comfortable.. Good parking in front of property. Ideal for our visit to Alnwick castle.

Our second time of staying at the Mistal and we love it.

Every thing you could possibly need is in the cottage. They have thought of everything and more. It is super clean and roomy too. The lack of a garden doesn't bother us as it is handy to park your car right outside the door so not far to deal with luggage in and out. The courtyard is off road too. It is an ideal base for exploring all around which we love to do and visiting the countryside nearby especially the Breamish valley. We hope to return there.

Lovely property.

Very well looked after and relaxing, with a really well equipped kitchen and plenty of space downstairs. We loved the views as soon as you left the property and enjoyed all the traditional features in the house.

We had a great time staying in the Mistal for our holiday and hope to be booking it again for next year.

The cottage is exceptionally clean and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need even poobags for our dog if needed. The owner kindly left biscuits and milk as well as a vase of flowers for our arrival which was nice. The property is central for coast and country and you can get to the border of Scotland too within a short drive. We were lucky with the weather too but the cottage is a real home from home should you require it in a village which is so quiet the children can play in the street. If you wish to get away from it all and live life in the countryside this is perfect but Alnwick is only a few miles away for all you might need. There is no garden at all here though so take note should you require dog space but plenty walks from the door.

The cleanest and best equipped holiday property we have ever stopped in.

A good location for exploring the North East.I really cannot find any faults.

We chose this cottage after having a booking cancelled a week before we were due to arrive, it's a very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in a very quiet area , although we wanted to be in a town (Wooler ) with the facilities that would go with being in a town we still had a very nice holiday

Property was clean, tidy and a great location to see the surrounding area.

The little things such as doggy treats and the flowers were a great touch, we felt very welcome. We will definitely be booking again!

Myself, wife and Daughter with X3 Dogs had a fantastic 7 nights at the Mistal.

The cottage was lovely and very well equipped for our needs. Home from home. Clean and fresh. Great base to visit all the beautiful surroundings. All in all a wonderful experience. Would we as a family book the Mistal again. That would be a massive Yes. Thank you.

Lovely location many places not more than 10 to 30 min drive, great walking location for dogs etc.

The cottage had great cooking facilities which is beneficial for families etc as eating out in the area, for use due to having two dogs was limited, but shops etc in Alnwick was a great choice including the village shop and pub. Great stay will look to return when the weather is not so wet.

The Mistal was a wonderful cottage to stay in.

I can safely say I have never stayed anywhere that was so well equipped definitely home from home. The welcoming touches were very much appreciated. The location was just brilliant we were close to some very beautiful villages and beaches, so all in all it was a wonderful week away.

One of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in.

It was comfortable, warm and clean. There was good parking for 2 cars. Easy access to all local attractions with Alnwick, Craster, Bamburgh and Seahouses only a short distance away... The National Trust houses in the area are well worth a visit .

All made to feel very welcome with fresh flowers and even dog treats! Accommodation exceptionally well appointed, attractive and scrupulously clean. Situation excellent for making excursions. We were delighted and had an excellent holiday.

No where walk dogs in the village and the local pub does not serve food anymore.

A very nicely presented & modern not quite a cottage but with that feel, in a lovely quiet hamlet close enough to all the Northumberland & Tyneside attractions and the Scottish Borders to make trips out easy.

We couldn't have asked for anything else to be provided. We left very happy & relaxed. For those with kids & who like to be connected, there is no mobile signal at all but the WiFi is excellent.

We loved staying at the mistal but it was not clear that there wasn’t a private outside area or a place to dry clothes outside.

Rural, extremely quiet which was perfect!

The Mistal is so well equipped, the owners have thought of everything to make the stay very comfortable and homely.

The village and surrounding countryside are beautiful and everyone we met was very friendly. We have family in Alnwick and The Mistal is a perfect base for us (and our 3 dogs) to stay, as we can visit them or they can visit us.

Fantastic holiday lovely weather great accommodation allowing us to bring 4 small dogs was a huge bonus.

A fantastic spot for touring the NE countryside and coast which is stunning.

The cottage was spotless and was a real “home from home” with everything one could need. If it had it’s own garden it would be truly perfect. Lovely touches on arrival- biscuits for adults, dog treats, milk and a vase of flowers. All arrival instructions were clear and everything ran smoothly.

Good cottage, well furnished, very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped.

The fridge has a slightly strange configuration which means that it seems quite small. There was a very useful information file. The village is very quiet and well placed for coast or moors. Nice to find somewhere so nice that takes three dogs. The only thing the cottage lacks is private outside space.

Excellent location for all areas of Northumberland including the coast and the National Park.

Good for dog owners, walks straight from the Mistral. Plenty of room for four adults (and two dogs) it served our purpose extremely well especially as we were away for the festive period. We all commented on what a fantastic time we had had. Thank you Nigel and Joan.
