A delightful, ivy-covered stone cottage situated on the outskirts of the Northumberland National Park, in the pretty and secluded village of Great Tosson.
Forge Cottage has undergone considerable renovation creating a stunning holiday home, just as suitable for friends as it is for families.
The open-plan sitting room boasts a set of floor-to-ceiling, bi-folding windows with some of the most spectacular views across the open fields and distant hills.
Curl up on the corner sofa, or armchair for a relaxing evening with your loved ones, while catching up with your favourite shows, whilst the dining area is perfect for planning the day's events or enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal.
Step into the modern fitted kitchen, with its pristine white units and sleek granite worktops offering ample preparation space to cook up a storm for the whole family!
With all the rooms being on the ground floor, you will have easy access to three brightly decorated bedrooms; two doubles and one twin, served by a family bathroom.
Each bedroom offers matching bedside tables and lamps, ideal for some late night reading and have delightful views across the countryside.
Travel into the thriving town of Rothbury for a large selection of pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets for your amenities.
Discover the nearby National Trust property of Cragside, a Victorian country house with period furnishings inside and was once the home of the inventor William Armstrong, with an on-site play area and set in large, landscaped gardens.
There are a number of nearby rivers and lakes for those interested in fishing and boating, whilst the Northumberland National Park itself has trails for keen walkers and cyclists, with spell-bounding country views.

A comfortable holiday home, was handy that the owner lived next door as we needed help with the heating and she couldnt do enough to help us.
We really loved our stay at Forge Cottage, the view was amazing and most things could be forgiven just for this, the dark sky and the variety of wildlife to watch.
The hosts are friendly and approachable, and all about making sure you are happy. However, there were no instructions manuals for the appliances, which would have been helpful. The use of the washer appeared to have been restricted by the programs being blanked off. The bathroom was very cold. There were no instructions about the shower, which goes through freezing cold before it gets to warm, with no way to set the temperature before hand. I am sure if I had asked for the heating to be put on, it may have been, but the whole cottage felt cold and a little damp, in fairness the weather had turned from heatwave to full autumn. The seating is great but I am not sure 6 people would be comfortable. The bedrooms were well set up, lots of storage and really comfortable beds. There was lots of hot water, which was great. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but the one chopping board was split and unhygienic, and the 3 cooks knives not very sharp. There were plenty of saucepans, roasters, casserole dishes etc. and really pretty crockery and mugs. There were also lots of wineglasses and tumblers. There is no EV charging at the cottage, not even 3 pin plug in, the nearest rapid charger is Alnwick, although there are slow chargers closer. Perhaps the owners could look to getting a charging point fitted and adding an extra cost. There were helpful notes about places to eat, the local doctor etc, but these were scattered, rather than all in one place, which would have been more helpful. I have a largish car and found the entry to the parking area rather tight, but I used the driveway opposite to line up. There are vehicles parked in front of the cottage on a regular basis, this can cause privacy issues unless the curtains are kept closed. Overall the cottage was clean, cosy and close to amazing places to visit, or somewhere to just get away from the world, which disappears, especially at night.
Fabulous scenery that you would never tire of.
Nice and clean, well equipped kitchen. Lovely comfy beds, great nights sleep. Central location for everywhere we wanted to go.
