Lovely cottage set in a beautiful village.

Locals are really friendly. Loads of locals walks. It's was like home from home everything we need was there. Super location. Super bed and bedding. Thank you for our welcome biscuits and goodies

Attractive, very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in a lovely village.

An ideal base to explore north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. We very much enjoyed our week here.

The cottage location is amazing in a lovely village with shop, butcher and good pub (Mason's Arms).

The cottage is well furnished and equipped, but the outside space was unkempt with old, wobbly chairs. There was no pre-arrival communication from the owner, no milk in the fridge on arrival, and the bed linen had not been ironed. Charging sockets are at skirting board level.

Excellent holiday stay in Norham thanks to this lovely cottage well equipped and placed in the most welcoming and relaxing part of Northumberland.

It was the coolest of resting place in the heatwave… the surroundings are gorgeous with the castle on the doorstep, the river for long and peaceful walk.. perfect! We’ll be back soon.

Lovely cottage.

Well looked after and nicely decorated. Modern but maintaining the cottage feel. Very comfortable bed and everything you need is provided. The village is charming and lots to do round about the area. Wonderfully relaxing and we were so lucky with the weather. Would recommend.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Castle Keep, Norham.

The accommodation was very clean and very well equipped. Highly recommended. Norham is a friendly village and well served by 2 pubs, village shop, and butcher and bakery, good transport links. Pleasant strolls along the Tweed and to Norham Castle.

Five Star accommodation in a very central location in a lovely quiet village.

The cottage is very well fitted out having everything you require and a welcome pack. Nice secure enclosed garden at the rear for the dog, also lots of dog walks around the village or along the River Tweed. The Victoria Hotel is close to the property and does excellent meals or coffee & cake. Will be booking again for next year

The only feedback I would give is to advise guests in order to remove the key the lock must be horizontal.

The Castle Keep was warm and welcoming on arrival.

Clean and well maintained with a helpful welcome pack including a few luxuries. The local shop, only about 5 doors away, was very useful. We needed to contact Darren, who looks after the property, and he was friendly and very helpful, addressing our needs with speed and efficient care, thank you Darren. I would not hesitate to recommend or return.

Lovely cosy cottage in heart of a stunning little village with a fabulous butchers two great pubs and a local shop stocked to the brim.

Parking is on road but there is plenty of space, plenty of walking opportunities and a great base to explore the borders and Northumberland

great cottage , suited my need , only downside dog pooh in gravel in garden .

ideal washer/drier , however had unbelievable good weather nowhere to hang clothes out .

. Dogs had a great time. Everything you need for a base to see local attractions. The Butchers down the street had a great selection of products. The corner shop also had all the essentials.

Just returned after a lovely relaxing week, wish we could have stayed longer.

The perfect cottage, clean, comfortable, and had everything provided that we needed. Our dogs enjoyed the enclosed back garden and walks by the river. Found a beautiful place in Norham it is so peaceful and quiet, the locals are so friendly, we could easily live here. A kind and accommodating host in Darren, so Thank You, we will return ! after finally finding our Shangri-La.

Castle Keep was the best cottage we have stayed in to date.

Very clean, lovely decor, modern furnishings. A real home from home. In previous holiday rentals we’ve had to provide our own washing up liquid, tea towels, loo rolls etc but these were all provided here. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The only suggestion I would make would be to maybe have summer weight duvets. We were very fortunate to have hot weather so the duvets were a bit thick. The cottage is situated in the most charming village with a brilliant pub and butchers. With Berwick-upon-Tweed only a 10-15 minute journey away and lots of other lovely places to enjoy nearby, we had a great holiday with our dog. Edinburgh was only a 40 minute train ride from Berwick and well worth a visit. The cottage really was tip-top! Thank you, Nicola, Beth and Sean Walker

This was our third stay at Castle Keep.

Another very comfortable stay with everything we needed. The weather was changeable from boiling to cool and we were glad of the very efficient heating system. Sadly this time we were without a doggy to enjoy the beautiful walks surrounding the area but we met plenty on our travels. Once again we enjoyed the village shop, butcher, two pubs and as a bonus a fabulous flower festival in the church. We would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to explore area.

We had a lovely few days at the cottage, it was a great base for getting out and about.

My only criticism is the property is very dark inside. I appreciate it's a cottage but having to have a light on all day is annoying.

Lovely village, excellent location, well equiped cottage with new bathroom since last been. Beds so comfortable. Nothing to be negative about.

Property was very good we stayed on opposite side of street last year which was good but no outside space for dogs castle keep was much better every thing was spotless and would definitely stop again

This was our fourth visit to Norham and our second stay at Castle keep.

We enjoyed our first visit and loved the second. It is always gratifying when the owner of a property is prepared to put money back into the property in order to improve it. Castle keep was comfortable the first time we stayed, this time we were delighted to see that there had been a complete refurbishment of the bathroom thereby making it much more enjoyable and easier to use. A big pat on the back to the owners for that. Another bonus was the generous allowance of fuel should it be needed. There was ample supply of wood for the log burner and the central heating system was available if required, and I promise that is a rarity in most rental properties. Everything about Castle Keep is right, it was spotlessly clean and had an air of quality about it that sadly some properties we have visited lack. Norham village itself is a complete delight, a few doors away form the house is a shop that will supply all of the basic needs and more, also an award winning butcher that supplies wine and ready made sandwiches. Opposite is the Victoria hotel, newly reopened and a lovely place to be, ( try the Jarl beer OMG I thought I was in heaven, my wife said if I drank anymore I would be!) The masons arms is the more traditional pub and like the Victoria very friendly to visitors. I could go on, I just love the place and fully intend to return to Castle Keep for my Third visit.

Fabulous location and Darren as very helpful and speedy in addressing a minor problem.

The facilities in Norham were exactlywhat we had hoped for (two 75 yr old reasonably active pensioners and their 4 yr ols Labrador retriever!!)

We had a great stay at Castle Keep for 4 nights in October.

Cottage was warm and cosy with well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge area. Bedding was of high quality with a good mattress. Towels were a little small and thin. We could have done with a towel rack in the bathroom for drying towels. Hot water in shower didn’t really get hot enough - we read previously it had been adjusted down. Possibly this may have caused the temperature to be too low. Local butchers and pub (Masons Arms) are worth a visit. Overall, a wonderful short stay.

Lovely cosy cottage, generally clean and well-equipped.

We had to move utensils etc. around to provide cupboard space for food but there was ample room. The garden is private and secure, however you do need to go up steps to gain full access which some might find an issue. There is a back entrance but it involves walking round and through other gardens. Water pressure is a struggle at times, - takes a while for the bath to fill and don't turn other taps on whilst someone is in the shower! (The hot water is very definitely hot!) Parking isn't an issue as the 'on-road' parking is still outside the cottage, dependent on how busy it is but we never had a problem with space. Overall, an ideal location for exploring the area and one that we would definitely return to.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castle Keep and would like to return at some point.

Would point out however, that the main light in lounge was not working and the downstairs toilet window would not open. All in all though a beautiful cottage and we would recommend to anyone who was looking for a stay in this lovely village.

Great cottage in a beautiful location.

The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay including one of the most comfortable mattresses we've ever had! Beware - hot water is very hot! The property would benefit from a few minor repairs - nothing major but as follows (really info. for the benefit of the owner) Shower screen bottom seal - leaks badly and there is damp showing in the living room below Bath taps need tightening up Standard lamp has a loose connection (by the single chair) Living room 2 way switching- incorrectly wired Tin opener - useless!! Garden furniture- needs tightening up (did partly sort with tools I found!)

Enjoyed our stay at Castle Keep, Nice Welcombe Pack, The oven Needs sorting out as the Door keeps springing open, Obviously not many Cook at the Cottage, But my wife always does, Other than that all fine, Many Thanks Vince & Karen

This was our third visit and it was lovely to see the downstairs loo had been updated, and new seating.

We found the cottage as shiny as a new pin, and our old Spaniel settled very well downstairs as he has been before. Plus a tea cosy! Woo hoo

Bus service to Berwick and Kelso and English bus pass can be used. Good walking area.

Beautiful cottage beautiful location, and for us beautiful weather.

The village is quite but very friendly and the 3 shops grocery, butcher & bakery were great quality. Great for visiting all the local hotpots recommen's holy island St Abs and all.of berwick and take one of the estuary boat trips we were entertained with dolphins and seals. Castle Keep is a lovely cottage and an excellent place to stay.

It was extremely clean and very well furnished and equipped. All the furniture inside was of a good quality and comfortable and the outside area fully enclosed and lovely to sit in, especially as we were lucky to have good weather all week. Communication with the owner was excellent and he responded very quickly when a problem occurred with the oven - keeping us updated and arranging to have it fixed quickly. The added bonus of being able to buy a weekly permit for fishing in the Tweed, at a cost of £20, finished off a near perfect week. Castle Keep will be our first choice of accommodation for any future visits to Norham.

The cottage was lovely, well equipped and clean.

The village is very friendly and the bakery and grocers well stocked. Lots of great dog walking along the river. Would definitely recommend this lovely place.

We fell in love with the cottage and the area during our stay.

The cottage has everything you need that makes you feel comfortable and at home very quickly. We loved the layout and it’s was so clean and smelled amazing. Especially as it’s a carafe that allows pets there wasn’t a smell of them anywhere which was really nice. The village itsself was perfect, quaint little place. It was really quiet and the local shop, butchers and pud where brill. We are at the pub every night, Propper pub that serves Propper pub food that wasn’t too fancy or expensive. The local river and woodland walk was stunning, aswell as days out to holy island and bamburgh. We loved Norham and I really didn’t want to leave. We will certainly be booking this little cottage again. Only issues I would say is the top step in the garden that leads you up to the patio is loose, and the bathrooms sink plug fixing doesn’t raise, so drains very slowly. Cannot recommend Skye’s enough, the agent found this little cottage for us and from booking to arriving it was easy and perfect.

Lovely cosy cottage with everything you could need, although we did miss our dishwasher (we knew there wasn’t one) so the addition of that would make it practically perfect.

Comfortable bed and pillows. Curtains in the main bedroom don’t block out much light but sleeping masks sorted that issue. Norham is a beautiful quiet village with an excellent butchers and very friendly pub. The castle on the hill is majestic. Berwick is only a few miles away as are quiet beaches. We’ll definitely be back for another wonderful holiday.

Had an absolutely fantastic stay!

The cottage was super clean, cosy and had everything we needed. The cottage is well placed to explore Northumberland and also Scotland. The secure garden was perfect for the dogs, the bedding and pillows were so comfy, I've even ordered some for home... There wasn't a single thing to complain about... Highly recommend this holiday property... We will be back!

This was our first booking with Sykes and in the Northumberland area.

We were utterly delighted with the cottage we chose, it's facilities, cleanliness & decor/furnishings. It was exactly what we were looking for and precisely as described. We will be returning later in the year if we can make our dates work. Very happy, thank you.

Had a lovely stay at Castle keep, it was very clean, well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, a great location will definitely be staying again.

We are returnee visitors and find Castle Keep a very comfortable cottage situated in a good area for our interests.

We love that there is an armchair in the furnishing of the cottage, such a rarity in many holiday let's but a blessing for those with mobility or back issues. Some mobile providers struggle in the area but WiFi on a tablet is fine in the house.

lovely cottage so comfortable and cosy woul d rebook again it would be nice to have another couch in the living room and if possible a tv in the double bedroom

Everything was really good.

Just some very minor points, in that the door handle to the single bedroom was loose and kept coming off and the extract fan in the bathroom didn’t seem to work (although the openable rooflight meant this wasn’t a problem). We really enjoyed our stay.

This was our second visit to the cottage this year.

Absolutely perfect for our needs and for Broc the spaniel. Lovely village, lovely people and excellent food shops. I know there have been remarks about the building work next door but it just didn't bother us and we had some good chats with the boys. It will look superb when completed. We enjoyed trips out every day and the my hubby fished each evening. Five minutes to the river, dog and husband ecstatic. Also great pub with good beer. The only tiny points we would mention are please could we have a tea cosy, second oven glove and an indoor sweeping brush.The small bedroom door handle needs fixing too. Many thanks for the new handles downstairs too! Cottage immaculate as ever. We will return soon. Nick and Liz.

The cottage is well equipped, very clean and comfortable.

However, had the owner put a warning on the listing about the renovations next door I would not have booked. Heavy machinery, banging and loud music made it impossible to use the garden. I do not believe the owner's claim that they did not know - it's obviously a long term job and I was insulted that they dismissed the complaint so flippantly. I did not ask for recompense and their claim that they were not informed of the problem during the holiday is irrelevant as I doubt they were in a position to stop the work.

We had the most amazing week, Norham is a beautiful and historic village and everyone who lives there is so friendly.

The butchers is amazing, the Masons Arm is great, the staff in both couldn’t do more for you and the food is great too. Had lunch and dinner in the pub a couple of days. The little shop has everything you could ask for including fresh fruit and veggies. The cottage has everything you need and is immaculate. There was the biggest welcome basket I’ve ever had at a cottage with everything from tea and coffee to chocolates and biscoff spread. It was a lovely gesture. We’ll be returning later in the year. Thank you!!

What a beautiful property.

There is nothing else you needed that wasn't already in the property. The village is beautiful and peaceful and really handy for days out to the beach or local attractions. The welcome basket was lovely and totally unexpected. The log burner was a welcomed treat after a long day out.
