The Coquet Nest

Being really picky now, a dishwasher would be useful, but it would not stop us from returning.

We enjoyed our long weekend at the Coquet Nest.

The apartment was comfortable and clean and Rothbury is a lovely town to explore with lots of eating places and interesting shops.

Thoughtfully equipped and very comfortable

Had couple of issues but sorted with vendor with no problem, only down side no off street available only on street parking available and car parks are not that close by but the location is excellent and very comfortable all in all a great stay over

Our first impression as entered the property were great.

Good cotton bedding; good laundry washing service; However, when we looked closer, the shower cubicle had few mould marks and both shower heads had black mould.... There was grouting of a floor tile coming off from the floor area. No where to hang hand towel. After having asked about the firmness of the bed, we discovered it was not firm but, soft. The sofa seat was very soft as well. The dinning chairs could do with felt feet to stop making so much noise when you move them in our out. The hob had uneven heating so not great if you trying to cook something with controlled heat at a constant temperature. Extractor fan area was very greasy. Only one large frying pan with signs of it's coating peeling was provided. The cutlery was very basic and very poor quality with the square stone crockery that was not functional at all. The front sitting room door area was not cleaned properly. We were lucky to be there during the hot weather but, if any guests were there during cooler months, you can see the daylight through the doors and wind blows making some noise on the long blinds. The curtains need to be heavier and darker or lined with dark fabric. We have stayed with other providers of holiday cottages with much better fascilities. Pity as the location is lovely!!!

Lovely cozy apartment with well equipped kitchen.

..Nice bathroom with great shower and large bedroom with very comfy bed and dressing area. Apartment well situated with all amenities such as pub restaurants cafes shops within walking distance...and lovely river walks literally across the road! CRAGSIDE house and gardens is great for a day out and only 5-10 minutes drive away. Venture over to the coast as there are lovely villages and beaches to find! Would definitely recommend The Coquet Nest!

Delightful comfortable apartment.

Road parking outside is available on occasion but there is a free car park a short drive away across the river bridge and to the right, and easily walkable along the coquet river and across pedestrian bridge

Fantastic location with plenty of things to do nearby.

Good range of local shops in Rothbury making staying here very easy whether you want to eat out or cook for yourself. Also lovely choice of pubs. We enjoyed sitting out in the sun at the Newcastle Arms and had an enjoyable dinner in the Queens Head.

The Coquet Nest is a very comfortable apartment in a convenient location, being within walking distance of all shops, pubs etc in Rothbury.

It is literally across the road from the beautiful riverside walk and within easy reach of so many of Northumberland's scenic attractions. We had a lovely long weekend in the area and the pleasant accommodation made our stay even more pleasurable.

We had a great stay, the apartment was as good as the pictures really well equipped and the dog welcome basket was a good idea.

Ideally situated with a nice river walk about 20 yards from the door. If we holiday in Northumberland again which is highly likely we would definitely see if the apartment is available

Lovely ground floor apartment just a stone's throw from the high street so shops, bars etc are within easy reach but not disturbed by noise.

The kitchen appeared well equipped and the only niggle (slight) was that the fridge wasn't secured in place and tipped forwards. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if in the area.

Absolutely perfect!

Very comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom. Great location. No garden but no issue for our dog as it's right opposite the path to the riverside. Loved it!

Perfectly located accommodation, very pet friendly, perfect for visiting Cragside Wallington and Bambrough Castle, our 2nd visit here love it

I only stayed for 2 nights, I’ve never been to Northumberland before, but I really enjoyed it, so I will be going back.

Rothbury has quite a few pubs, take aways and independent shops. The apartment was spotless, it had everything you would need for a comfortable stay, it’s a lovely old building, but has a very modern bathroom and kitchen area.

This is our second visit and did not disappoint would recommend it.

Just two niggles.

The loo seat needed adjustment and should have been checked before our arrival and the sofa has seen better days. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for visiting Rothbury and the flat is ideal for a couple.

Our stay at The Coquet Nest was great.

Very clean and modern. Odd that there is a footstool for the loo though - it has been placed higher up the wall than normal, so be aware if your mobility is not so good. We found the very well located to go explore Northumberland.The only other thing to watch out for is the parking. You can either park up the street where it gets narrow or outside where it's very close the junction. Also, locals tend to park on teh corner of the junction (not safe) in order to use the river access. River access is excellent - it's just across the road. Great for river walk. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely beautiful property .

Fabulously situated on the edge of the town near the river Coquet.stunning views . Immaculately clean throughout. One negative was that dogs had stayed previous and slight smell of doggy. The washing machine had been used for doggy blankets too and we could not use as it was full of hairs. No big problem at all but was the only downside. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely clean bedding. We had a very comfortable 5 night stay and would highly recommend to anyone x

The cottage was in a beautiful location and was very cosy.

The river was just across the road which was the same as having a lovely garden. There was a basket of essentials for the dogs which was a wonderful touch. We had a lovely stay.
