2 Twizel Station Cottage

Our family of four had a great stay at Twizel.

Loved our walk along The Tweed and Till to Twizel Bridge and back past the castle. Saw lots of wildlife during our stay including a flash of a Kingfisher! Nice selection of board games and lots of pamphlets on where to visit. Especially liked the little book with Northumberland walks.

Beautiful location, loved the wildlife passing the window.

Walking was great just out the door. Cottage had everything we needed.

Really nice place cottage was great our spaniel loved the fenced off area couldn't get him in sometimes.

Plenty of wildlife about so you can really get back to nature would go back again.

We and our two Border Collies had a perfect 'doggy holiday ' here from 13th June for a weeks stay.

The cottage was, on arrival, so lovely and clean and very pretty, nice decor,comfy bed and pillows and well equipped.We had great walks off the doorstep and we also travelled into Scotland as well as around some of Northumberland, its a great base for getting to places. It was perfect location for lots of doggy walking and no busy roads, we got round very easily, Cheswick Beach is so beautiful and fab for our dogs. The cottage was in such a peaceful location, we loved watching the squirrels, pheasants and hares which came by each day

Great property, lovely neighbours and a location to die for.

Dog walking heaven, and the enclosed dog paddock is brilliant, especially when the weather is kind. Second time back to this cottage and intend to plan a 3rd revisit. Well kitted out. Comfortable and compact. Plenty of wildlife. A great base. Very relaxing.

Lovely clean cottage with modern fittings and furniture.

Ideal if you want very peaceful location down single track road then single track. Lovely large garden for dog and carefree walks from the cottage down to the Tweed. Idealy located for coastal attractions and border country.

The property is in an idyllic location.

So peaceful. The cottage is immaculate with everything you need for cooking etc. The garden is huge & secure so our dog was happy. Beautiful walks on the doorstep as well as central location for trips to coldstream, kelso, berwick etc. What makes this cottage 'special' is its isolation. Being at the end of a farm road means you are away from traffic and people and let's you rest, recharge and explore.

Love the garden.

And all the walks outside. Only thing I'd change is the sofa and armchairs as they're low but that's just our preference.can not please everyone)Will definitely book again

Great little cottage !

lovely peaceful position and safe garden for dogs. Plenty of good walks right outside the front door. Easy drive to beaches. Good quality beds and bedding, all aided to a good nights sleep. The kitchen is well equipped and it was great having a washing machine. The cottage is well decorated and very cosy ! we didn't need the heating on at all we used the wood burner on a night once back from our adventures. The only thing I would suggest is a long handle sweeping brush and a selection of cleaning products as we had to go out and buy them all , as we liked to do a quick clean every night when we got back from the beach and hill walking to get rid of the mud and sand as no matter how careful you are you always bring it in with you . Also under counter lighting would have been nice as they give off a soft light. Apart from that a great cottage and a great stay, thank you very much.

The property was excellent and Michael and Vicky the cleaner were great.

The property is 9 miles from Berwick so a little way out but the woods and river tweed are wonderful and close by. The garden is also outstanding especially for our two cocker spaniels.

This is a lovely, warm cottage in a rural location.

Ideal for bringing your dogs on holiday. Big secure garden, so you don’t need to worry about them. The cottage is very well equipped, lovely walks from the doorstep. You could quite easily spend the week here and not venture out in your car. To make the cottage that little bit better, I would suggest adding a rug to the living area. Also supply a broom and a brush and dustpan, as the stick hoover is quite inefficient. We all thoroughly enjoyed staying here

Very pleased with the property it contained quality furnishing, and bedding.

It was the very quiet location we wanted, large well enclosed garden ideal for our two dogs. Owner very helpful and responsive. The welcome pack and details of local area and attractions were much appreciated,

The cottage was attractively furnished, well equipped and in a lovely location with walks from the door.

Excellent for dogs with a well enclosed garden. It was also very central for visiting local attractions and the coast. Unfortunately we would not return as we found the beds far too hard making sleep difficult, there was no wardrobe to hang any clothes, just hooks, and the water pressure on the shower was barely adequate in spite of having a noisy pump to increase flow.

A wardrobe or two would be nice as would a small waste bin in each bedroom,wasp nest in chimney stack somehow they were getting in via the attic we think.

A mat inside the back door and change the one outside back door,a continuance of bannister around the top of stairs for safety,but we had a lovely time and great location,thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

We had a delightful few days at Twizel cottage.

The house has been beautifully decorated and is comfortable and has everything one could ask for. Our only reason for not giving it full marks was the shower which is poor.

Lovely cottage, well presented.

In the most beautiful area. Amazing garden for the dogs. Very clean throughout and comfortable bed. Had trouble with the WiFi but Michael was out straight away to fix it. One thing to be aware of are the steep narrow stairs, a second rail on the right hand turn is much needed for safety. However, would not stop me visiting again.

What a lovely find, a really well presented cottage, very modern interior in a lovely part of the world.

What a lovely place to spend a few days, after a bumpy start, we had a small issue on the first morning - all sorted on the day without bother - we found the place a real escape and a great chance to unwind. When the directions said to continue when the tarmac road ends, I knew it was not going to be in a busy spot. Close to the river, a lovely walk along the old railway then down to the river bank and across fields and we were met with a really beautiful vista. The house itself is very well furnished, beds are comfy, bedding is premium quality, even the knives in the kitchen were sharp (not something you can say about all rental properties). We didn't have any 4 legged guests, but the garden would have been fantastic if we did, a large area with a very good fence on all sides. We had a great visit!

Cottage is in great location with access to River Tweed/Till only a few minutes walk away.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful peaceful setting with a garden which was safely fully enclosed keeping our dog safe.

I had no problem with the shower, hot water, or anything else. This is a beautifully appointed and well finished holiday cottage in a fabulous location and should be on everybody’s short list!

Some maintenance issues - shower didn’t work properly broken.

No hot water - no instructions on using immersion heater and no oil in oil tank. Filled on last day. No cleaning products for bathroom and no place to dry clothes We still had a good holiday, the freedom of many dog walks and the wildlife we saw were great. Just a little more polish would make it a fantastic place to stay.

Lovely comfortable cottage equipped with everything you need during your stay.

Amazing location with river and woodland walks directly from the front door. Peace and tranquility whilst spotting the local wildlife. Great location for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Will definitely be back for another visit.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

Good sized enclosed garden great for our dog. Lots of interesting walks from the cottage and an ideal location to visit the Borders and Northumberland coast. Highly recommended.

Duel light switch in the staircase needs attention.

Very well appointed cottage with a lovely garden which was good for the dogs, very quiet and secluded which was good.

Overall a very good stay and would definitely use again.

This was a lovely little cottage with all the mod cons.

Lovely and warn and clean with the added bonus of a log burner with plenty of wood for it. The garden was fantastic for the dogs as it is fully enclosed and safe. Lots to do in the surrounding area as well as good walks from the cottage door especially for exercising the dogs. Would love to come back in the summer months and will be definitely recommending to friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We, 2 couples and 2 dogs, stayed for 3 nights over New Year and had a very relaxing break.

Twizel Station Cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable and had everything you needed to cook a variety of meals. The fixtures and fittings are good quality. Excellent shower, good mattresses and linens. Great heating system with the bonus of a log burner ensured we were kept cosy. Enclosed garden perfect for the dogs. The location was great for walking the dogs and exploring local area. We hope to return in the summer .

We had a fantastic few days at Twizel station cottage the cottage is immaculate and in a fantastic location, the owner was great and nothing to much trouble highly recommended.

The property was immaculate, well designed and thoughtfully furnished, down to the finest details.

The kitchen was very well equipped. Open plan living room/dining and kitchen felt spacious with door leading from the kitchen area to enclosed patio and lawned garden area, perfect if you have children or dog. Ideally situated in a peaceful location, on the border of Northumberland and Scotland, with walks from the door or towns/castles/coastal areas within easy reach by car.
