Woolley Lodge

Our second time staying at Woolley Lodge and we had another lovely comfortable stay.

Wooley Lodge can highly be recommended.

"We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. Everything was absolutely perfect – it was cozy, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed to feel right at home.

Woolley Lodge was peaceful, well laid out and well eqipped.

The garden in June was beautiful. It felt a bit chilly on cooler days but the central heating warmed it up well, and It didn't get much sunlight, but the lovely artwork on the walls made up for that. In hot weather, it was a welcome retreat. It was handy having the coop round the corner and there were plenty of places to explore within reach and walks to keep us busy.

This is a wonderfully easy cottage with character, comfort and a great location.

We enjoyed relaxing with family as well as local walks and further excursions. Everything was well laid out and easy to use and the woolly theme much appreciated!

Wonderful cottage in a great location.

Near supermarket and cafes/ takeaways/pubs and local shops and lovely friendly people. Everything you needed was available. So cosy. We hit really lucky with weather and sitting out in the beautiful garden was lovely. Our dog Cracka loved his stay and his walks along the river just down the bank from the cottage. Great position to visit both Kelso and of course beautiful Northumberland. Don't forget the hidden gem of Wooler Common. Will come back soon.

This was our third stay at Woolley Lodge.

We loved every minute. It’s homely, clean, quiet and perfectly located. The garden and summer house are an added bonus. It’s a perfect place to relax.

It was our first time staying in a Sykes cottage.

Speaking for myself, sister and brother-in-law, the cottage, and particularly it's owners are a credit to your organisation. For us, all in our late 70s, the location of the cottage and it's facilities were ideal - easy access to town life but in a very quiet spot with a beautiful garden at the rear that was fully appreciated by us (and my collie). The cottage, equipped with everything you can think of, is very clean, warm, comfortable and above all, has a welcoming, cosy atmosphere - all due to the thought put into it by it's owners. Any minor concerns which inevitably crop up from time to time were dealt by email with Rachel promptly, in a friendly way making us feel we were amongst friends rather landlady and guests. We would definitely recommend Woolley Lodge to our friends. Rachel and Rob, thank you for enabling us to have a perfect holiday.

An absolutely fabulous cottage, we would definitely recommend anybody staying here, the garden, the facilities are perfect.

Wooler is a lovely town with so much to do in the surrounding area for all ages. You can walk directly into the hills from the village to experience the tranquility and beauty of the Cheviots.

One of Northumberland's hidden gems in the heart of a friendly, historic town ideally situated for the wonderful plethora of beaches, castles and walks.

Beautiful, multi- tiered cottage garden in glorious sunshine trap. Well equipped and comfortable cottage too. Brilliant response to a minor plumbing issue from owners Rob and Rachel within a few hours. Our fourth visit ... as enjoyable as our first.

Especially liked the large garden with many flowers and different places to sit. Cottage very comfortable. Great position at the foot of the beautiful Cheviots and good bus links. Wooler a pretty town with great facilities for such a small place.

Our second time at Wooler Lodge, it’s a really lovely cottage with access to a fab garden which we used a lot this week as the weather was glorious.

2 minutes and you are in the town centre. Would highly recommend.

Hi we had a great holiday very central to all the places we wished to visit.

The wine, bread, milk and chocolate were a very nice touch to find on our arrival. The cottage was very comfortable and well appointed apart from the double bed mattress as you could feel the springs in places and bed frame very creaky every time you turned over. Sadly on the wall and ceiling above the bed were a lot of long cobwebs running down to behind the picture. The sofa and chairs were very comfortable but it looked like a past visitors had spilt something down the front of the sofa and the blue armchair. Even so we had a great holiday and would re book. Lovely cottage and terraced garden.

Loved the cottage, really comfortable and everything you could want in kitchen.

The door to the bathroom with bath was quite difficult to shut, not a major problem but could be solved quite easily and the garden would be elderly people friendlier with a hand rail on the lower steps. Overall only little things and we really did have a lovely time there.

This was our second stay, this time for a fortnight.

We felt at home from the minute we walked in. The cottage is wonderful in every respect. The location is also fabulous. Thanks so much.

The xmas decorations were a lovely surprise, and everything was perfect for our stay. Would highly recommend !

What a beautifully presented holiday cottage in the middle of the lovely town of Wooler.

Sadly we were unable to use the lovely garden due to the weather but the facilities for younger guests looked great. Very enjoyable stay.

The cottage was perfect for us!

It was clean, comfortable and extremely quiet. The summer house was a great feature. We felt at home right from the start. The local shops were handy and Wooler is a short drive from many attractions such as Holy Island and Cragside. We definitely intend to return.

Our 3rd visit in 2 years, (and sadly, probably our last) but what a disappointment.

A major USP of this charming cottage has been the charming, split-level traditional rear cottage garden, but it clearly hasn't been tended for several weeks. The grass was up to 10"s long in places, the patios were overgrown with weeds, garden furniture had bird droppings and large weeds were even growing out of the front cottage walls. So disappointing.

Wooly Lodge was very clean and everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided.

The treats were lovely.chocolate .wine and a welcome loaf of bread and milk were much appreciated. As it was our first stay at the cottage we didn't know what to expect so we were pleasantly surprised and would make a return visit if holidaying in Northumberland again.

The kitchen worktops metal end caps were both bent outwards, there were badly tea stained mugs crockery had to be washed before use also glasses there were crumbs in cupboards, frying pan so burnt could not be used as teflon coating comes off on food , baking trays much the same.

we were there two weeks but were given no clean bedding or towels or offered a clean for secong week. You could not shut inner front door. I could not mop floors as the mops were dirty and smelly. It needs a deep clean. Its a shame as it could be a lovely property. I also found a patch of black dog/cat hairs on duvet in double room . It stated there was a washing line never found it. There are beautiful quality bedding towels etc in this property and is in a very quiet part of wooler, It would be helpful if sugar was left for guests so they can have a drink when they arrive.

Fantastic cottage we have stayed in Wooler many times and this is the best cottage we have been in.

It is fitted out to a high standard and everything is there that you need. Right in the heart of the village only a few minutes walk to the high street, pub, restaurants.

First impression was made from the outside, driving upto the cottage, was beautiful, it just got better from there, going inside the cottage, clean, nice welcome, comfortable.

Property was very clean and well maintained.

We had a minor problem during our stay with the heating and hot water system but Sykes sorted quickly and within the same day.

! The cottage is so clean and comfortable with high quality fittings throughout, set on a nice quiet street just of the centre of the village, lovely welcome pack too - would definitely recommend Woolley Lodge to friends and family ☺️

Garden is beautiful . The only thing I would suggest. Is a small tv in the kitchen and a bigger freezer for those booking a 2 week stay. We will be back .

We loved our stay, this cottage is very much above average…games room and garden were great.

Smart to with Netflix etc was unexpected addition. We had everything we needed.

Perfect location for walking in the Cheviots and visiting the coast, whilst having the convenience of the town of Wooler on our doorstep.

All the facilities were as advertised and the property was very clean. The weather was great which made using the spacious and well kept garden a treat. We would recommend this property and would definitely stay there again.

The garden and summerhouse are amazing. Photos of this property really don't do it justice. It surpassed our expectations. We would definitely return.

The dishwasher could not be operated .

The vacuums were not cleaned from previous users. Access to garden room was not suitable for a disabled person.

The cottage was very clean, cosy and in an excellent location for exploring the national park and the coast. The garden was beautiful and the games room was a great bonus.

The high standard of decoration and attention to detail was much appreciated.

Top class cottage, comfortable, cozy, very well equipped kitchen, bath towels superb.

Beautiful gardens, superb tv with Netflix a real bonus.

Great property, small things make a big difference, such as the high quality kitchenware, plenty of dishwasher tabs etc… the games room was great and although it rained a lot we is everything we needed and were nice and warm.

Will definitely look to book again.

Beautiful clean lodge,felt at home.

Only one one kind of complaint we had to remove diffusers as they were really strong and my wife suffers from Migraine, I would receive this lodge to my friends.

Well situated for Wooler shopping, eating, walking; and a great base from which to explore Northumberland. We shall definitely book again.
