    “It was a lovely, cosy welcoming cottage in a brilliant location central to lots of wonderful sights of interest.”

    We have been to Northumberland 5 times and this was the best cottage. The decor was homely and it was very well furnished with comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped and a joy to cook in. We were very comfortable there. A couple of very small issues for the owners attention include: •There was no cutlery holder in the dishwasher •The leaflets could be more up to date (one was from 2016) • There were no teaspoons! We had to buy some. We left them in the cottage for ...

We had to buy some. We left them in the cottage for others. • for the cost of the cottage the welcome pack could have been a little more extensive and exciting! We note that others had a welcome hamper years ago! We really liked Lesbury village. We supported the community shop which we thought was a great initiative. Unfortunately The Coach House was shut for renovation, otherwise we would have supported them as well. We highly recommend The Hope and Anchor in Alnmouth - fantastic Italian food and friendly staff. We would definitely return to Willlow Cottage and recommend to friends. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

    Thanks for the lovely feedback - we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The dishwasher has a specific cutlery drawer at the top which pulls out. This is where all the teaspoons were hiding! Thank you so much for buying more though - it's very kind of you. We plan to put a sign on the dishwasher so people know the drawer is there in the future. The Welcome Pack is a difficult issue - it's tricky to know what to include when people have different dietary requirements and when most people arrive with all they need, or have a supermarket delivery soon after arrival. There is often some wastage. Having considered your comments, we thought we would try offering vouchers for the Community Shop instead of a welcome pack. That way, people can buy what they need/want - and we are supporting the community shop too. We hope future guests will think this is a good way forward. The Coach Inn has re-opened with a refurbished kitchen and a great new menu (we have tried the food and it is good!). I will do my best to source up to date leaflets ASAP. We hope to welcome you back to Willow Cottage in the near future and thank you for recommending it to your friends. Property Owner

Willow Cottage is a elegant stone built terraced property located in a quiet square in the pretty village of Lesbury just a mile away from Alnmouth.

The Cottages homely feel allows the perfect retreat for both couples and small families alike any time of the year. Lesbury benefits from a community owned and run shop, selling bread, groceries, dairy, fresh vegetables, cakes and coffees and the newly refurbished Coach Inn (opens Weds-Sun, currently drinks only).

Nearby Alnmouth has a village Post Office/shop, cafes and restaurants.

Willow Cottage is ideally located for exploring all the attractions Northumberland and the Heritage Coastline has to offer.

Dining area with large table and chairs and access to the rear patio. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 1 with double bed and vaulted ceilings. Bedroom 2 with twin beds.. Family bathroom with bath and shower overhead, basin, heated towel rail and WC. OTHER FACILITIES Private parking for 1 medium size car.

LESBURY

Alnmouth 1.4 miles; Alnwick 3.8 miles; Warkworth 4.3 miles.

Lesbury is a quaint village resting between Alnwick and Alnmouth, beside the stunning coast of Northumberland. The village is known for its historic bridge and scenic walks along the River Aln, and offers a selection of attractions including a local community shop 150m
which has a volunteer run community shop stocking bread, cakes, dairy, fresh meat and vegetables, ice-cream, wine and beer. The lovely Coach Inn has recently been refurbished and is now open for drinks Wednesday to Sunday (no food yet). The Alnwick Brewery Co & Taproom is close by and there is easy access to the superb seaside town of Alnmouth, where there is a golf course, a greater selection of eateries and a beautiful sandy beach. Just outside of the village is the popular market town of Alnwick, where you can find further attractions and amenities such as The Alnwick Garden, countryside walks through Sumerseats Viewpoint, a great selection of eateries including Barter Books, and of course the magnificent Alnwick Castle. There is also the option to visit the historic seaside town of Warkworth where there are more beaches, coastal walks and another fascinating castle.
