    “What we needed after a hectic year of work was a quiet and relaxing break over the festive period.”

    That was exactly what we got. A very comfortable single storey cottage with all the amenities of home with the added bonus of views to Coquet Island and Alnmouth. Countryside walks for the pooches straight from the front door. Plus it was only a short distance to those ever so crowded Northumberland beaches too. Far enough away from civilisation for the seclusion but also close enough to Amble or Alnwick for shopping. Unfortunately, like all good things, it had to come to an end though. We ...

The property

This one-story accommodation, Garden Cottage, is located on the outskirts of Alnwick on a working farm, close to the stunning Northumberland coastline.

This cottage can accommodate up to four people and serves as a perfect home base for family and friends visiting this part of Northumberland.

Look forward to relaxing in the lounge, getting comfortable next to the woodburning stove and deciding on a movie or TV series to binge.

Move over to the kitchen, where the allocated chef may wow the company with a hearty dish and a bottle of bubbly.

As the evening comes to an end, retire to one of the bedrooms, which includes a king-size and a twin and has wardrobe space for your personal belongings.

The cottage features a garden with a seating area where you can relax outside and take in the tranquil scene.

The Farm is a Wildlife Conservation area for Lapwing, Skylard and Grey Partridge as well as encouraging wild flowers.

Your local amenities can be found in Alnmouth, where you can stock up on essentials at the convenience store, spend a day at the beach, embark on a hike along the coastal path, dine at Scotts of Alnmouth and Northumberland Street Food, or test out your swing at the excellent golf club. Next stop is Alnwick, where you can take a stroll through the town centre and stop off for a delicious bite to eat in one of the many local cafés. Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea.
