“The location was superb and the facilities were appropriate to our needs.”

Level of equipment was very good. Decor was to a high standard. As the only cooker available was the Aga we should have appreciated more easy to find accurate information on its use. Fortunately I have used an Aga before albeit many years ago. Because the Aga is on all of the time and could not be turned off it made the kitchen uncomfortably hot in the fine weather we were lucky enough to experience.

Friendly owner. Great to have off road parking. Kitchen very well stocked. Bed comfy, sofas less so but not worth knocking a star off. Great shower pressure. Lovely garden, sadly too cold to make much use of. Many thanks for the welcome gift.

Everything was very clean and the facilities were excellent. We would happily stay again - or better still move in permanently! Our only suggestion is that little signs were perhaps needed on the gates of the lovely shared garden, reminding other families that this is a shared facility.

“We have been coming to Grange Cottage for 10 years now, usually once a year.”

We always enjoy our stay and especially the garden in May. We just felt the property seemed a bit tired and unloved now and needs an update. Suggestions would be more cutlery in the kitchen please. Didn’t seem like enough for six people. Also, the beds were uncomfortable and lumpy and one duvet appeared grubby and worn out. Hope this is helpful feedback.

The mattresses toppers have all been replaced and mattresses checked. Duvets all checked. More cutlery provided. “Second visit to this beautiful dog friendly property.”

Blessed with lovely weather and consequently spent a lot of time out and about but enjoyed returning to our temporary home and the welcome of an AGA. Lovely to have parking and a very pretty secure garden to enjoy. The welcome gift of wine and snacks were very much appreciated. Hope to return again soon.

It was surprisingly quiet considering how close to the road and pub it is. Beds were very comfortable and everything was in good order. A lovely cottage for a few days in Alnmouth. Would recommend.

The cottage has an electric Aga, feature log fire and gas central heating making it an ideal year round base especially suited for couples wanting their own bathrooms and space. There is also a pretty enclosed garden and private parking. GROUND FLOOR Living room with TV/DVD, log burner, DAB radio, iPod dock, internet radio. Kitchen/breakfast room with Aga cooker, dishwasher, larder fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, freezer, microwave, washer/dryer. Bedroom 1 with king size bed, TV, en suite shower, WC and basin. Shower room with large shower, WC and basin. FIRST FLOOR Bedroom 2 with king size bed, TV, balcony via separate staircase. Bedroom 3 with twin beds and TV via separate staircase. Bathroom with bath, hand shower, WC and basin. OTHER FACILITIES Enclosed lawn garden with pond and table and chairs (shared). Gas central heating. All power, bed linen and towels included in rent. ALNMOUTH

Alnwick 4 miles.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
