I was disappointed with the welcome pack, obviously bought from some supplier to hospitality - little sealed packs of coffee, tea, milk and biscuits as found in hotel bedrooms. My usual experience is cottages is lovely baskets of wine, crisps biscuits etc - something that looks like a bit of thought has been put into it. My usual experience is cottages is lovely baskets of wine, crisps biscuits etc - something that looks like a bit of thought has been put into it. The same with the box of cleaning products - I didn’t know it was possible to get such a tiny bottle of washing up liquid ( probably contained a tablespoon of liquid). When you pay a lot of money for a cottage it is nice to have some effort put into the nice little extras that are the norm in most cottages. No visitors book in the cottage, which is always useful for recommendations on where to eat etc. Alnmouth itself was lovely- beautiful beach and nice dog friendly local eatery’s. However I wouldn’t consider returning to this cottage as I felt it was overpriced for what was actually provided.
