White Feathers

This property is genuinely lovely.

It’s got gorgeous features and has so much detail that makes it a great place to stay. Clearly it’s been set up well for guests. It’s got a speaker, lots of kitchen equipment, all sorts that make it an easy stay. It’s brilliantly positioned in Alnwick too. So close to everything. So pleased with it.

We had the best time at the cottage.

It was our favourite stop on the roadtrip and we would definitely come back! Alnwick was lovely with amazing pubs and perfectly located for exploring the area. The cottage was lovingly furbished with great attention to detail. A special thanks for the great books about the area on the shelves. We took a lot of inspiration from them!

Good location, all amenities in walking distance.

Plenty of free parking nearby. Clean and spacious property. Comfy beds (the single bed approved of by a fussy 14 year old!).

It’s obvious that the owner of White Feathers has put a lot of effort and thought into making this small home very comfortable.

It was great that it was an easy walk to the town centre. We were able to find parking on a nearby street without a problem. The road outside the house was busier than we expected but died down at night.

Second stay at this lovely property.

The location is perfect, just a short walk into the centre of Alnwick where there are lots of great places to eat and drink. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Super comfy beds with plenty of space for storage and lots of coat hangers in the wardrobe!! The bathroom is very spacious with a bath/shower. Great to have the option of either. This cottage feels like home from home with thoughtful and interesting arty touches to the decor. A great base to explore Alnwick and the surrounding area.

A lovely little house in a fabulous, very central location.

The pay off for this was significant traffic noise - but easily remedied with ear plugs. Cosy, warm, well equipped with everything you could need. (Even an Alexa!) The drive was very narrow (stated in the property info) and is a thoroughfare for residents in houses behind the property. I decided to park on a nearby street, plenty space available. Beds were comfortable. Pillow was too high and solid for me but then found softer lower ones in wardrobe. They had it all! Bathroom is downstairs so not ideal if mobility issues. Only suggestion would be to provide rubber gloves for washing up (as there is no dishwasher). Had a wonderful stay and was easy to explore locally and get out to the coast. Would definitely stay again

Lovely stay at the property .

Had everything that we needed and was very central . Easy to explore the town and the Northumberland coast is only a short drive away ( we did this to a different part daily ) . Parking was easy in a nearby Carpark that was free . ( we were in a large vehicle so couldn’t get on the drive ) . Only small thing for us was that there wasn’t really a garden for our dog . We could let him out on his lead though . This was our error though as we didn’t look properly ! Would definitely recommend and would come back to stay at this property.

We had a fantastic break at White Feathers, everything you needed and more.

The kitchen was better equipped than my own! It's centrally located with everything on the doorstep. I can highly recommend Leo's Thai restaurant around the corner on the main street. They also do takeaway, I've left a menu in the kitchen draw.

Another fabulous weekend break at White Feathers.

As always, the house was immaculate and welcoming on arrival. We had a few very peaceful nights, enjoying the beautiful wood burner and all the property's amenitites. It is so conveniently located in the centre of Alnwick it's now our go-to place for a UK weekend break to kick back and recharge the batteries. The town is charming, full of old, friendly pubs and great eateries. The market on a Saturday in the market square is worth a potter and we did a lovely 7km circular walk taking in the sights of Alnwick. We rounded off our trip with a delicious dinner at the impressive Tree House restaurant and a walk in nearby Alnmouth to enjoy the beach and sea air. I can't recommend this place enough, it's a wonderful property to enjoy some down time. The decorative touches and quality linen and towels are the icing on the cake. Thanks White Feathers, we'll be back again soon.

Comfy and cosy.

Had everything we needed. My daughter and I had a lovely week away. Would recommend it . And may even come back again.

I had a lovely, peaceful weekend break at White Feathers, my second time staying in this beautiful house.

I love the design touches in the house, from the retro storage tins, the beautiful glassware and the 60s furniture, it's all been thought through by the owner who obviously has an eye for interiors. The bed was really comfy and I had a great nights sleep both nights I was there. The house is perfectly located for all the amenities of Alnwick town with it being just a couple of minutes walk to all of the great shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants this bustling market town plays host to. I will definitely be booking again, thanks White Feathers!

Generally good, only points would be potentially trivial, the buses and HGV’s have to pass directly by as the road is the main road effectively as they can’t go the other way due to height of the town gate at Hotspur Tower, so take your ear plugs.

No bath mat in the shower, it’s over the bath and is fine but the bath is very slippery. Sykes were appalling in their service prior to us going as we had to change our dates and could not get anyone there to respond to us, that was shabby but not the property owners fault. The location of the property was great.

White Feathers is the perfect place to stay while you explore Alnwick and Northumberland.

It is beautifully decorated and welcoming. It had everything you could need inside and it's location was perfect for walking into Alnwick to see the Castle, Gardens and shops.

Would definitely stay there again

The property is very very comfortable and homely.

Ideally located within easy reach of the town centre, shops restaurants and bars. Only thing I can think of that would improve the property is the shower, pressure not great hot and cold and had to dance around to get wet

Visited for a week with our 4 year old & dog.

Very nice clean & comfy cottage with easy access to Alnwick & lots of the surrounding areas. Well equipped to make a meal at home & some good takeaways just a short walk away. The only thing my husband & I found we didn’t get along with was the master bedroom bed being quite uncomfortable - mattress hard & lumpy, pillows very firm - I appreciate this is a very individual opinion so difficult to please everyone. Lovely touch’s with the welcome gifts & supply of hand & washing up soap/liquid.

A lot of care seems to have gone into the design of the house, partifularly the provision of umbrellas, hot water bottles, torches etc.

We found the lack of water pressure meant we couldnt use the bath and you are probably not aware of a pair of scissors are not available, presumably gone missing! All in all a well thought out cottage at a reasonable price.

So close to the town centre and we didn’t have a problem finding parking nearby. The guest manual was very informative and useful. Wi-Fi and TV were great. Beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped with lovely sharp knives! All in all we had a great stay, thank you
