“We really appreciated the central location of the house.”

We were both starting to develop sore backs from sitting on the couch and suggest this is well overdue an upgrade. We found the shower unreliable and found that using without the central heating being in use almost impossible to get a warm shower. Unfortunately the main bedroom radiator developed a leak from the control valve on the Thursday morning, tryed to contact by phone on the number supplied,. Thank you for your feedback; it really helps us to improve upon the cottage and to ensure that everyone has a positive experience in Aln Cottage. It is in a great location. We were sorry to hear that you found the sofa uncomfortable. That hasn't been our experience but we do realise that it is rather elderly. We have just ordered a new sofa and chair for the cottage, due for delivery in time for the 2024 season. We were also sorry to hear that there were problems with the hot water/ radiator and that you couldn't raise a response from Sykes. We have also contacted them to sort this out. Regards, Susan & Steve Property Owner

About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
