“Myself and my friend have just returned from a brilliant stay in Coquet cottage in Amble.”
First impressions were good. A nice street of terraced cottages and very quiet too. Very close to the centre of town, literally a 2 minute walk to the shops and a further few minutes down to the quayside. Perfect! The cottage itself was lovely. Very clean and with absolutely everything you could possibly need on hand. The kitchen is fully equipped, we lacked nothing! Home from home was my first impression. Lots of information, from leaflets regarding local attractions to tide times for crossing to Holy Island. Beds were lovely and very comfortable. The bedding and towels smelled gorgeous and were spotless. Just everything you need when away from home. We loved it. If WiFi is important to you, don’t worry, it was fast!
The parking is on street. I have a large estate car and managed to park it easily. There was always a space. It’s a very quiet road, no noise at all. Amble itself is a great place to visit in its own right. With the quayside, marina, shops and restaurants, it’s all there. Further afield, take your pick! Too many gorgeous places to list but Amble is a great place to start. Trying to keep our money local, we tried the Taste of China takeaway and the Taj Mahal for Indian food, both top notch and shopped in the high street which has everything you could need, including lovely cafés. Do try the eateries on the quayside for lush fish meals too.
