Victoria Cottage

We had a wonderful stay in Amble.

Billy and Amy were such kind and generous hosts and we made the most of all their recommendations. The cottage is comfortable and in a great location - just a short walk from shops, pubs and the Little Shore. We particularly enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard for breakfast before heading out for the day. We had great walks to the nature reserve and Warkworth Castle, delicious ice cream at the harbour and fun at the pool too.

Victoria Cottage is spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped.

It's location is ideal, being only a short walk from Amble harbour and all local amenities such as shops, cafes and restaurants, pubs etc. The inclusion of the pass for the pool and other facilities at Amble Health & Leisure club is a great bonus. as was the welcome pack on a arrival. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Their messages and check instructions were clear and friendly in tone. They made us feel really welcome.

Exceptional.

The cleanest cottage we have been in. Everything was perfect.(, except couldn’t get in the parking space), but managed on a side road. Only thing we missed was a little salt and pepper perhaps some cooking oil too in the starter pack, other cottages have always included. A little picky perhaps. Sorry. Supermarket was close bye, but didn’t want to go straight out for some after a long journey. Lovely home.

Really comfortable bed which was wonderful. Great food places nearby so if you like a nice pub or fish and chips for supper, then this place is perfect. Host was very helpful and friendly - excellent correspondence, Shame we didn’t get to use the pool and leisure facilities - maybe next time, Highly recommend, thank you William and Amy.

The cottage is ideally situated to holiday in Northumberland.

Amble is a lovely little village with everything for a great holiday. Victoria cottage was very comfortable for the three of us and well appointed. The gym pass was very useful, with the pool, saunas etc available. William and Amy were very helpful and prepared the cottage beautifully for our arrival.

Nice warm reception after a long difficult drive, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits made a real good welcome.

great beds really cosy everything there if its needed, Fish shop one side of us about 10 yard walk, pub the other side next door no distance. So thanks to all concerned and yes we will return we promise you ......Again many thanks for the warm welcome...

One word: outstanding!

From the minute we opened the door, we were in love with Victoria Cottage. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful dining room and a warm and comfortable sitting room downstairs and upstairs didn’t disappoint either. Very spacious indeed. The beds were super comfortable, linen and towels immaculate too. Great bathroom, again very roomy! This cottage is absolutely wonderful. We’ve stayed in a lot of holiday lets, we go away 2 or 3 times most years and Victoria Cottage outshone them all. The photos online don’t prepare you for how lovely it is. Everything has been considered for your stay. The garden at the rear was totally dog friendly, a must for us. Parking is at the rear, down a short alley way. Although tight, we managed to park our very wide Volvo estate. I got out at the start and my husband who is not small had enough room to open his door and exit at the end. Not a problem. There was parking a few yards down in a free car park and also always parking on the residential road to the side. We were so well situated, a very short stroll to the lovely high street that had everything you need and just slightly further to the marina area. Lovely restaurants and more shopping there. A beautiful place with views to Warkworth Castle. Everything is within easy reach. Alnmouth (our favourite!), Alnwick (as well as the castle be sure to visit Barkers bookshop, you won’t be disappointed, google it), Berwick, Craster…….the list is endless. We loved Amble though. We decided we could live there! What made the holiday even better was the welcome. The contact from the owners was amazing, helpful and warm, I felt that if I’d had a problem, they would have responded immediately and they’d left us a welcome pack to get us started. The local people, wherever we went, were just wonderful. Making a point of talking to you, asking where you’re from and giving advice on the best things to do. Getting anywhere took ages because of the chatting! Victoria Cottage is a gem. Everything was easy from start to finish. Fantastic home, lovely owners and a stunning area.

Lovely house just minutes from the centre of town and a short walk to the beach.

The enclosed garden and free pass to the leisure centre were bonuses.

Our 2nd stay at Victoria Cottage and just like the first stay it was perfect.

Spotlessly clean, comfy and equipped with everything you need. Ideally located to explore the local beaches and attractions. Would definitely book again if we were to return to the area in the future and will recommend to friends and family if they decide to visit Northumberland. Thank you for an amazing stay!!

A great property.

Clean, comfortable, tons of storage space. Comfortable beds and everything we needed. We thought it may be noisy on the main road but we didn't have any issues at all. The garden is a lovely suntrap in the afternoon. Good communications from William and Amy. A perfect stay thank you.

Second time visiting Amble though first time at Victoria Cottage, only wished we’d found this cottage first time as we’ve had the most fabulous week here.

The cottage was spotless, comfortable, everything you need with added bonus of a lovely fully secured private garden which our dog loved chilling out in after a full day out exploring as did we. Not many places in Amble have gardens just a little yard so outdoor space was perfect. The driveway round the back is a little tight for larger car (we have Honda CR-V) but found reversing in better though the on street parking was plentiful and safe. Communication from William & Amy before we arrived was a really nice touch and made it a bit more personal they obviously have a lot of pride in their beautiful cottage. We’ll definitely book again for our next visit to Amble.

A lovely cottage in a central location.

House was well equipped. Only negative was it could do with a stick blender in the kitchen. Great gas cooker as we eat in. Shower position a bit challenging when hair washing. For the money it was very good and we would come back.

The enclosed garden was great for our dog and it was a bonus to have private parking. The extras left for us on arrival (bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee & biscuits) were very much appreciated. The cottage is very spacious and comfortable and was very well equipped. We hope to be back in the future.

Pet friendly. The facilities were good.. Rear garden was very secure and had good security lighting. Would have liked some hooks in the bathroom for towels etc. William was very welcoming. The parking was quite difficult manoeuvring up the very narrow lane at the rear of the property. Very little space to get in and out of the car. We chose to park in the adjacent street which did have parking spaces along the roadside very close to the property. Very convenient for the local restaurants, take aways and town centre. Harbour was a 10 min walk.Close to the most amazing beaches and other attractions. Cragside was a brilliant day out.

We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the cottage.

It was comfortable, clean, very well equipped and had lots of lovely personal touches. The owners had gone to a great deal of trouble to ensure we had everything we needed the moment we arrived! They were also helpful in answering the questions I asked about places to eat, etc. I did find the parking space a bit tricky as I was driving a 4x4 and, after unloading the car, decided to use the public car park just a few doors down from the cottage which can get congested sometimes. This is simply my own observation! I would certainly recommend a stay in the cottage for anyone wishing to stay in this part of Northumbria.

Overall high standard, but just a few small gripes Parking was very tight Garden chairs not v comfortable Dining room very dark Cooker hood a bit of a hazard - we both bumped our heads on in Undercounter fridge not ideal BUT Leisure Club membership a real bonus

The cottage is well maintained and equipped and spotlessly clean - no evidence at all of previous doggie guests.

It is in a great position for exploring Amble and around. We loved the harbour area. Amble has quite a few supermarkets so very convenient for self catering. On the downside, the front bedroom of the cottage suffers from traffic noise at night, we hadn't realised it was on such a busy road. The downstairs is very dark and gloomy, not a problem if it is warm enough to sit in the lovely garden.

We have just returned after a 4 night break at Victoria Cottage.

What a lovely property! Clean, well equipped and lots to do in Amble. The cottage had bowls for our dog too! It's been updated to a high standard (we thought the super king size bed quilt might need updating). We would highly recommend Victoria Cottage. Ideal for a family with all mod cons washing machine dish washer. Even a free pass to the local swimming pool in a health centre.

Very comfortable, well equiped house. Perfect for doggys and little ones with the enclosed garden. Perfect base for exploring Northumberland. Would 100% recommend. We already re booked for a full week next year before leaving. We can't wait to return ❤️

We had a very lucky find with Victoria Cottage.

Spacious, clean, comfortable with all the comforts of home. The secure garden was very important for our young Cairn. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Amble is a great base to explore this beautiful part of the UK. The town itself is great with lots of amenities in walking distance.

The property was beautifully presented and warm on our arrival.

Everything we needed was provided. The garden brilliant for the dogs, secure and well lit at night. Despite the road, pub and chippy it was quiet. Great location, only a ten minute walk to the harbour and plenty of shops and takeaways etc. Amble is very pretty and the beach at Hauxley superb for the dogs. We wouldn’t hesitate to return! A very warm and comfortable cottage.

Despite being next door to a pub it was very quiet. William was a most attentive and generous host.

It’s always clean and welcoming when you arrive, with the essentials required to start your stay already there for you. This was our third visit and we will be booking our next visit when we can sort out leave that works. Always a please to stay here, a home from home.

The cottage was beautiful.

We absolutely loved it . Everything was perfect and the garden was perfect. Our 2 cockapoos loved exploring it all. We enjoyed exploring the area and went to Alnwick Castle, Cragside and Seahouses. Had never been to Northumberland before and we loved it all. The scenery and beaches were superb. We had a snashing holiday and the owners William and Amy were super too . So helpful and friendly. Will definitely go there again.

We had a super week at Victoria cottage and found it to be very comfortable , clean and well equipped .

The little courtyard garden was quite a sun trap and Amble is a lovely little town.

We slept in back room as we thought there may be noise at the front but it was in fact very quiet. Near to all local facilities and Amble Sun market a must. All in all a very enjoyable week

This is a wonderful property, situated in an ideal location to get around the town and to travel further a field.

Clean and tidy, with everything you need for a holiday stay. Private parking is available with the property, it’s extremely tight, this has never been an issue for us (this was our second stay, with another booked for October) as there is a car park a stones throw away behind the Blue Bell public house, or plenty of parking on the road.

Cosy , warm lovely cottage central for everything- car can be parked off road and a rarity of a garden in amble!

Beautifully positioned Cottage in the heart of the village of Amble.

5 minutes walk away from the beach. The Cottage itself is so spacious and we are a family of 5 (2 Adults & 3 Kids). It was spotless when we arrived & we were greeted with a welcome basket which was a nice touch! Would definitely recommend!

A lovely cottage ideally placed within Amble for ease of access to everything we wanted.

Well equipped, with all needed for a stay away from home, with the added bonus of a nice starter pack to get you going upon arrival. The secure back garden was ideal for letting the dogs out for a late night call of nature, knowing they where safe and secure. Although I never mastered the private parking, I think our car was probably a little too big, we simply parked in the small nearby car park behind the pub which is a minutes walk away. We love Amble, and would happily stay in Victoria Cottage again.

Lovely property just a short 5 minute walk from the harbour. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. Amble is a lovely little town but also a good base to explore the surrounding areas with Alnwick, Holy Island & Warkworth all within easy distance. Would recommend this property

A really great time was Had by us all .

Our 9 year old grandson loved the use of the swimming baths. The cottage itself was immaculate and the welcoming pack flowers and leasure centred pass was very much appreciated.

Nice and clean. Complimentary tea and coffee which was a nice touch upon arriving. Great welcome book with all instructions needed as well as some great games and toys for kids and adults alike. Good communication too with a welcoming text.

This cottage is outstanding, the best I have ever stayed.

in. it is immaculate, the tea coffee etc was welcoming, the owners lovely. I was worried when I found it was next to a pub and on the main road, I like my sleep, but I need not worry as there was little to no noise. I feel a three star is very unjust, it deserves more at least 4 or 4 +. It really was home from home. The parking is at the back down a narrow lane but that was never an issue and at least I had a parking space , which we have been caught out with before, one time I was a half mile walk from my car. Can not wait to stay there again.

Lovely cottage, we weren't sure when we saw the cottage tucked between a pub and a vape shop, with a fish shop and another pub a few doors away but as soon as we were in the cottage with the lovely enclosed garden for wilbur the dog and for sitting in, it was beautifully quiet and peaceful.

Good position for walking along the coast.

The property was exactly as described and provided a very comfortable stay.

One very minor criticism was that the bath towels provided were a little on the small side. A welcome pack was provided which was a lovely touch and the owners texted us to let us know the property was ready.

Amazing old cottage with many modern facilities.

The owners have kept it to a high standard. The bedrooms all have comfortable beds, the bathroom is modern, clean, with a great shower. The kitchen has everything you need including washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is lovely and perfect for sitting out in. Also safe if taking dogs as we did. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

We loved the small changes that had been made. It is a very cosy, clean, well equipped property. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Victoria Cottage was a perfect place for our summer holiday.

Amble is a lovely harbour town and it is so easy to walk to from here. The house was larger than I thought and very comfy and welcoming. We all enjoyed being there and would definitely return again

The property is very spacious and clean.

The leisure access was a great bonus. The only issue I think should be made clearer is that the property is next to a pub. There was some slight noise disturbance on the friday/ Saturday but nothing that stopped us sleeping and not until late. Other than that the property met all our needs and it was lovely to be able to walk to restaurants, shops and the coast easily.

A deceptively large cottage, comfortable and spacious; allowing the entire family to enjoy a relaxing holiday without being on top of each other.

Victoria Cottage was spotlessly clean and sumptuously furnished, making it the perfect base from which to explore the beauty and wonder of Northumberland. The owners were available via phone for anything we needed or to answer questions, and welcomed us into the home with a care package that included fresh flowers, tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter. What more could you ask. The off-road parking is tight but doable, even in our SUV. Quick tip: reversing up the drive having deposited the passengers at the end does make things easier. When we visit the area again, we'd definitely seek another stay in Victoria Cottage; not sure you could do better.

The only negative was that the rooms were a little dark but this was due to the position of the house and otherwise everything was excellent. The garden was particularly nice and great for the dog as completely enclosed. Amble is a nice place with loads of different eateries and a great base for exploring Northumberland.

being registered disabled, my only problem was no downstairs toilet, a minor problem ,otherwise it was one of the best cottages we have ever rentedI wish more cottages were like it

They have thought of everything, and the place was very clean and comfortable.

The only slight drawback was the lane were you park thee car, it was very narrow

Everything went to plan and facilities superb. Sykes were a great company and went oyt of their way to help us add additional nights.

A very well appointed and large house.

Warm and cosy with comfortable furniture and beds. well positioned for the town , harbour and the Braid . Parking was an experience but OK and the garden was safe and secure. I would definitely consider another holiday there in the next 12 months.

Lovely little gestures - like bread and flowers. Good communication from the owners. Great place to explore from. Quiet bedroom, slept really well.

For the money we paid for we expect it to be a better, the back door does not open fully as it only opens two thirds making it difficult to go through especially when you have a baby, also when you use this door it hits the boxed section and swings back hitting you, the shower is antiquated and dirty, the property is on a main road with heavy traffic which means when you open the bedroom window you hear all the noise in the early morning.

The pub is not 1 min away it bang next door, when they have functions on you can hear it, and you also get the noise from rowdy people leaving the pub, if we had known properly about this we would have booked elsewhere,

Cottage was very good larger than anticipated.

The owners were friendly and very helpful. They dealt with minor problems promptly couldn’t have asked for them to be better . A few more towels and tea towels would be useful. Would definitely recommend to friends and go again. The leisure club free membership was great and very useful j Fordham

The owners were brilliant, notifying us by phone when the cottage was ready for us and giving us lots of local information.

the steps from the front bedroom needed careful negotiation for elderly people.the owner very kindly picked us up from Alnwick and took us to the station for our rail journey back to suffolk. Parking area is very narrow so can only accommodate a smaller car, otherwise it is parking on the road to the rear of the property. Hosts very helpful.

Amble harbour market good. Central to attractions, I.e Alnwick castle, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Beamish. Great text message from owners about arrival information. Welcome pack and fresh cut flowers. Pets made very welcome.

Approach to parking at rear of cottage impossible to use, too narrow.

This made transferring our luggage very difficult. Apart from that blip this was a delightful experience. Very comfortable, extremely well equipped accommodation which was within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc. The term cottage belies the actual size of the property, would quite easily suit family of five plus. Amble is an absolute gem and I fully recommended this holiday accommodation and locale.

Extremely friendly local people. Amble have every thing, it was brill. Our accommodation even catered for our two dogs, two feeding bowls plus a ball for them to play with magic.
