3 St. Cuthberts Garth

We have stayed in this cottage many years now.

............It has been updated which is lovely to have an on-suite-bathroom..... Very clean and well maintained, comfy beds. We just had a problem using the hob as there were no instructions how to work it, having a gas cooker ourselves.......We were then instructed how to use it which was very helpful. The cottage has a good size garden.

A great location and outdoor space - comfortable accommodation.

We had a problem with the oven - it went off on our first morning. Luckily the next day it worked, just temperamental. But a late response from the service manager. Also a small leak from the en suite towel heater. Two niggles but in the whole a great stay.

Had a really lovely stay here and have booked for next year already which would make it our 4th stay.

Only niggle is the overflow pipe runs frequently never happened before so reported it to be told it was normal! Very comfortable place to stay easy to get to places and a nice bottle of Prosecco as a welcome.

Good central location.

Short walk to beach. Shops, pubs and restaurants close by. Comfy beds although duvets more for winter than Summer! Quiet location for a good nights sleep.

This cottage was perfect, so clean and inviting.

Everything had been thought about for our comfort to make our stay perfect. There was even a bottle of prosecco. We loved it! The gardens were beautiful to sit in the in the sun (when it appeared) and it was such a short walk to the pub and restaurants. The quilt on the bed was a bit warm for us but that's the only little niggle I can find. Thank you

Lovely cottage in a superb location.

Had everything we needed including a spacious kitchen. Bed really comfortable although the window could do with a latch because it blew wide open all the time. Garden was a real bonus especially for our dog who was also fascinated with the rabbits. Sofas not particularly comfortable so perhaps time for new ones. Overall we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

Lovely cottage but a couple of issues.

There was no information pack about the house, just a couple of sheets on recycling and bin collection. As mentioned in other reviews there were no instructions for the tricky hob nor for heating. The parking was very tricky- maybe because it was the end of half term - and the listing comment of park on the grass was only suitable for vehicles with enough ground clearance.

Excellent week location.

Perfect for touring around Northumberland. Nice places to eat close by. Would definitely recommend. Bamburgh was very busy the first few days of our stay as it was Easter weekend. Parking can be a bit of a problem when busy.

The cottage was beautiful and perfect for a group of 4 friends, their bikes and two dogs.

Lovely and spacious with a great secure garden for the dogs. Some instructions on how to turn the hob on would have been helpful but I You Tubed it. I did ask for one of the double beds to be split into two singles which didn't happen, but we coped.

We had a great stay in this spacious cottage, and will definitely be back.

It had everything we needed for a great week exploring the area and everything provided was of a great quality. The location was brilliant for the beach and close to restaurants and pubs. Beds were comfy and the log fire made for a great way to spend the chilly evenings. There were a couple of minor areas of improvement we feel could benefit the property, firstly the hob was difficult to use - we googled the make and found a video on you tube however we think step by step instructions may help future guests. The living area is let down by the sofas - they are really small, as there was just two of us this wasn’t a problem however we think it would be hard for four adults to comfortably relax together.

This lovely cottage in the heart of Bamburgh, is deceptively spacious, whilst maintaining a cosy feel.

The beds are very comfortable and it is well equipped with great outdoor space. To make it a little better it would be good to have some cupboard space left vacant for groceries and the WiFi password needs to be more accessible.

Lovely stay and property.

Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped with everything you need. Lovely garden and wild life. Fantastic location!! We will be back.

Lovely accommodation in a peaceful location in the heart of the village.

No DVD player as advertised, and the lock on the en suite in the master bedroom was broken. Other than that we were delighted to stay there and would visit again.

A beautiful cottage which seems to have been completely renovated very recently.

The cottage was furnished and equipped to a high standard however it would have been useful to have towel hooks in the bathrooms. Our only criticism of the presentation of the cottage was the very dirty window in the main bedroom which we had to clean. Other than that the cottage was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We have been going to this property for several years and love the location and the cottage itself.

...............only problem this time, like last year, we had to clean the outside table which was full of pigeon droppings!!!! apart from that all was lovely as usual.

We stayed last year at the same time so returned again as enjoyed our stay and location amazing.

Sunday lunch at the hotel around the corner was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately there are two sofas ( 4 adults staying ) and one sofa is too small so we alternated but rested sometimes on the bed after our walks . This has ensured that we book somewhere else next year .

We initially had problems opening the key box but after I called the mobile number given, 2 lovely ladies came and assisted along with 2 workmen and the next door neighbour!

The property was spotless and we were very impressed with the place. Superb location.

Another great stay at this cottage.

First time since refurbishment and its lovely. Just a few bits of decoration needing touching up. But this did not affect the great time we had at 3 St Cuthberts Garth.

The cottage was modern, light, and spacious.

Furnishings, decor and layout beautiful. Kitchen very well designed, with high quality crockery, cutlery and glassware. Halogen hob difficult to figure out as no instructions provided.The bathrooms were very well appointed, and everywhere lovely and clean. The gardens were fully enclosed and secure even for our small dog, which is a bonus. Parking a bit tricky, but managed fine all week. Welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits and wine a very nice touch. Highly recommended

We have been coming to this cottage for quite a while now and love the location and the comfort of it.

hopefully we will be back next year. A couple of points though, one of the radiators in the kitchen we couldn't get going, the toilet in the ensuite had a loose seat. The blind on the door to the garden wasn't working, but apart from that everything else was fine.

We had a lovely two weeks starving here and have already booked our next stay.

The location is perfect for a young family like ours. Close to the beach and local amenities. A lovely big garden for our boys to play in with the dog safely only slight downside to us was the WiFi. Not good at all and we did contact the people looking after us and it didn’t improve but hey ho we tried.

the owners need to check the property after it supposedly been cleaned and damaged items also check everything works before the new guests alot of lack of communication between them the windows are filthy you open the double glazed doors and look at the frame work never been cleaned the Pyrex dishes in the kitchen cupboards obviously been cleaned in the dishwasher all stains and smears on the glass hate to think how you live

The boiler wasn’t working on arrival, had to use Emerson heater for hot water for shower.

Reported defect plumbers attended the following day couldn’t fix needed parts, informed us they had attended property the previous week for same problems. We were told to leave Emerson heater on for hot water, this then broke two days later leaving no hot water, once reported it was repaired the same day. No heating was available all week which meant the cottage was cold as temperatures dropped to single figures all week . There were no instructions for how to use the hob. On our last night Thursday 13th June, we were woken around midnight the next door neighbour had music on very loud, banging doors, shouting, this continued until 3 o clock Friday morning, these neighbours are the people who I presume live there not the other side as that was a holiday rental too. We didn’t get much sleep that night and were driving home that morning which was a 6 hour drive after not much sleep.

Overall, one of the best properties we've stayed in.

Well located, Bamburgh is small so you're always close to everything, 10/15 minute walk to the fabulous beach, excellent facilities and a brilliant enclosed garden which is perfect for the dog. The only minor issues we raised were dealt with immediately by the management company and were due to a lack of information to be honest. There were no instructions for the cooker hob, the wifi code is in the back bedroom under the router but there's nothing to tell you that. We struggled with a lack of hot water for the four days, again there was no information about the heating/water system. Minor issues which are easily rectified and I'm sure will be. Not many places we'd go back to but this is definitely one of them.

This is a well equipped cottage with excellent facilities.

Everthing is there for you.A welcome milk and white wine was great.Tea coffee sugar plus a cafetiere.There is a very safe dog proof garden for pups which is completely enclosed.The wheelie bins are in the entrance by the fence but difficult to get to as hidden under bushes.Garden furniture could be updated as a bit uncomfy for long sits.Maybe a teapot for us tea lovers! Beds are huge and quite high if you're vertically challenged but very clean and comfy.Bedrooms are small but adequate with tiny wardrobes,so keep in mind if you don't mind keeping your clothes in a case.The cottage is well situated for Bamburgh village and easy to walk to beach.Parking can be limited at busy times so it's first come first served.Great place to relax and staff very helpful.

Lovely cottage & in an area which was accessible to main tourist areas, Bamburgh is a beautiful village & it was very relaxing.

The cottage was lovely, parking could be an issue as there are very limited spaces to park & not on the grass like advised. The heating kept the cottage too warm, I’m use to hive but it was a pain trying to stop it coming on. Would be better if it was set to off & let customers boost at a temp which owner can control.

we loved the cottage, lots more space than expected, perfect for the dogs, and most of all it was super clean.

We had a lovely few days in the cottage which is bright, clean and very well equipped.

Beautiful home really comfortable.

Clean and in good distance to all amenities. Loved our stay. The only thing I would suggest is to have a folder with instructions on how to use the hob and heating I couldn't find anything in your box and I use a gas hob so not familiar with electric. This was my only struggle.

We loved this cottage, one of the nicest we have ever stayed in.

The cottage was lovely and clean plus the location is excellent. The downsides to the cottage is the settees are very uncomfortable. The showers need somekind of soap and shampoo holder (not everyone is able to bend down all the time), no baking trays for the kitchen and you really need to put a mind your head sign on the stairs (my husband is 6ft 3 and banged his head and hurt himself). Sorry to moan on because we really did love the cottage but hoping these little things help you and others.

We enjoyed our stay in this cottage, very well located in Bamburgh.

There is everything you need and we found the property to be very clean. Probably best described as functional as the sofas were a little uncomfortable however both bedrooms were well appointed with nice comfortable beds with good quality bedding. Good shower rooms although there was a leak beneath the sink in the en-suite. There is a log burner in the living room but no logs provided. That said other extras such as coffee, tea, milk were provided as well as a bottle of wine on arrival which was appreciated. Good sized garden areas - great for dogs although note they are not allowed upstairs. All in all this was a good stay, thank you.

loved the place you can tell its just been refurbed and its in a great location.

Had a few problems but sorted.I don t think the sofas have been replaced i was really disappointed the sofas have not been replaced, they were extremely uncomfortable and quite small. With the cold nights and long winter nights i would have liked to relax on a nice sofa

Would have been helpful to have had spare bin bags for the kitchen bin.

Refuse collection was on Wednesday and there was not a replacement liner to use. Would also be good to have hooks behind the bedroom doors to hang such as dressing gowns.

Great place and location.

Everything you could need in the kitchen. Lovely out door space and furniture. Bathroom and onsuite were loverly bedrooms comfortably and nicely furnished. Only problem's were the parking but we managed, that is mentioned in the details. Tap in kitchen needs slight adjustment but nothing really to complain about .

Excellent holiday home.

It’s well equipped in every way. We expected steep stairs to the bedrooms, it being a cottage, but they were very easily climbed by us “older” people. The cottage is very well situated, just a few minutes walk from the village and its amenities. Would recommend it every time.

Very good property and location.

The place has been recently refurbished to a high standard.

As an electrician, I’m quite critical and have noted some very minor items. 2 x Toilet roll holders need refixing, main bathroom toilet needs refixiing. (Probably wants a spacer on the wall) Both are very simple jobs and did not affect our stay what so ever. Outside the property needs a little work also. A gardener is needed here. Grass cutting before each stay in the summer is a must! As it’s dog friendly, poo is difficult to see in long grass. Front gate needed a screw in the catch, not a tyrap round it. ( I put a screw in) Overgrown roses prevented us from entering safely ( I cut them back a little) generally, garden needs attention all over, particularly around path and bins area. Gate at front to left hand side garden needs repairing. There is a rotary line stood up the wall, but after a furtle in the grass, I think the hole has been blocked up? IE. A washing line needed. I don’t like 7 nights in the same sheets anywhere. Freezer top draw front is broken and falls off. I applied some sticks like …. and it’s now fixed. May fall off again? As I said, I’m a tradesman and can be quite critical, but after the cost and effort of the refurbishment, why not address these minor points and make it spot on. Location is amazing too. Shops, restaurants and pubs around the corner, castle and beach 5 min stroll away. Perfect! Ps. Bed/pillows not to our liking, but that’s personal choice. The linen had had its day, Seemed worn out, spotlessly clean, but needs replacing. I like crisp cotton linen at home and on my hols please. Would I stay here again. Of course I would. Great place. Hope this is helpful and not just someone moaning fir the sake of it.

Well furnished and equipped and in a good location for Bamburgh shops and pubs beach and the castle. Highly recommend

Our stay was fabulous, it delivered everything stated on the website and more.

Refurbishment is beautiful. We would definitely return. As a nit pick to offer improvements: trim the trees to gain better access to the bins.

Cottage has been beautifully refurbished and we just found the cottage and gardens fab Hope to return in the future as Bamburgh exceeded our expectations and such a lovely place for a break away

First class accommodation, First class location, Fantastic pubs, hotels and restaurants, local butcher fabulous, best beach ever, all in all one brilliant happy holiday, 10 Stars ⭐️.

The property has been completely refurbished since we booked.

It’s lovely and open plan, all new kitchen and bathrooms- lovely. Very clean and comfortable. The location is great with a short walk to the beautiful beach and the many good restaurants and cafes in Bamburgh.

The new owners have done a super job..................extremely comfortable.

This was a fabulous cottage with everything you could need in the kitchen.

The bed and pillows were super comfy in the main bedroom. The only downfall is the 2 little couches are not really comfy to sit and watch TV, we ended up watching TV in bed. With the world cup on we watched more then normal TV. I would stay here again in a heartbeat as the location is great. Also the front and back yard being fenced in was great for our two dogs.

Nice house, very close to all Bamburgh has to offer.

We had a lovely stay with fantastic beach walks. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous position of cottage right in Bamburgh.

Lovely front and back gardens. Comfy bed. Only negative was the heating, some radiators didn’t work and only came on at certain times. Unable to adjust after reading through instructions. Also a couple of the fuses in fuse box tripped out. Reading instructions left by owner, found the fuse box and managed to rectify problem.

We found this to be the perfect property to stay in whilst exploring beautiful Bamburgh and surrounding areas.

Garden very secure for our dog, Sparky. Well equipped with absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We will definitely stay there again. The Castle Inn and the Lord Crewe we would highly recommend also the Copper Kettle tearooms. Dog friendly with delicious food.

Loved the position of the cottage.

Suited us just fine especially with a dog. Only negative point would be bedroom window openings would be hazardous if we had children with us

It was a lovely little house marvellous location, very comfortable great garden to sit in when a lovely day.

Only one thing was it did get chilly couldn’t get heating on but it wasn’t a massive issue.

Have been to this cottage quite a few times and love the location.

We have booked again for next year. Just a couple of things could be looked at. The main one is the TV. Being older people we can't hear the TV very well as it won't turn up. Just a little more sound would be really great. Also the shower needs repair, we did ring and told the housekeeper about it, so hopefully it will be mended for next year. Apart from that we love the cottage and look forward to going for our 5th, I think it is, visit.

A lovely place to stay, well equipped and well situated.

Didn't like being informed three days beforehand that the dog could not go upstairs. That meant sleeping on the floor in the lounge. Settee not big enough for a six footer. I would not have booked if we had known. No other complaints otherwise.

The grass had not been cut and there were dog bones on the lawn, also dog poo, not very nice!

We cleaned up after our two dogs. There were also a lot of bits of something and hair between the sofa cushions. Everything else was clean though. The garden is not particularly dog proof, gaps at the very bottom.

Great base for our 3 night break.

The garden was great for our dog especially as she likes to try and escape. It was a relaxing break with everything available locally

We would never have booked this property if we knew dogs weren't allowed upstairs.

Only got told this a week before we went. Spent first two nights, broken sleep, going down to our dogs to resettle them. This needs to be clear before booking! Radiator in one bedroom not working, no lamp in that bedroom, Roberts radio didn't work. Window in other bedroom dangerous as low windowsill and no safety catch. Sofas only good enough for students. Fire extinguishers had no up to date label that they had been serviced. We were not issued with any guidance on what to do in case of a fire. Vacumn cleaner bag was rock hard with compacted dirt inside - we managed to change it. Putting a bottle of wine in the fridge and a packet of biscuits does not compensate. However beds were comfortable and the location good for the beach.

Loved our stay in the house.

The kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of heating. Loads of cupboard space and storage. No knickknacks and cushions everywhere. Nothing to fault. Couple of suggestions. A higher garden fence on right. A rug in dining room. A large pan for boiling pasta.. A non stick saucepan.
