Beachcomber Apartment

On arrival first impression was not favorable, as the stairs was grubby, when getting up to the living area was much better, the settee is exelent, and the large TV, all amenities are there, but just some things need improving, the cooker extractor is not working, there was no hdmi cable from dvd to TV, had to buy my own, as phoning up got me no where, under the settee had not been cleaned for some time, cleaners need to be told, could do with curtains as having a lamp post outside the main bedrooms venetian blinds do nothing, for paying well over one thousand pounds I expected much better.

Oh and the info needs updating as talking to locals there is no recycling now only for bottles, everything else in the main bin. It was good having a parking space.

Very spacious apartment, perfect location.

Well equipped kitchen. However, had to was every single item before using it at it was very dirty. Extraction fan didn't work, could get washing machine to work ( we followed manual online). Despite all this, would definitely stay again

Very spacious open property.

Comfortable furnishings. Some of the flooring is a little tired in areas, the fridge and shower could do with updating as the fridge makes and awful noise throughout the day. The shower is not very height friendly and little to low water pressure. Based very well in bambrough with close enough links to walk to most locations. And well placed to drive to neighbouring villages and locations. Really enjoyed our stay. The dog loved it too.

We were generally pleased with the accommodation as it was modern, spacious bedroom and wardrobe, comfortable bed and sofa.

Hadn’t appreciated there wasn’t a dishwasher but instead a washer/dryer as only room for one or the other. Personally a dishwasher would have been more useful. So rather disappointed that the only washing up aids provided were a rather well used washing up brush and a pair of gloves that leaked - where was the dishcloth/j cloth? As a previous reviewer said about something basic not supplied it causes problems when the nearest shop stocking these item is miles away. Location near to centre of Bamborough a bonus. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

I've stayed here several times over the years and always enjoy my stay.

The new sofa and chairs was a nice touch. The only slight issue was the floor seemed quite tacky in places. Overall though a great holiday and I'm really looking forward to coming back again in September.

A nice property a short walk from the centre of Bamburgh and all its amenities and about a 10 minute walk to the beach.

The highlight of the holiday definitely had to be seeing the amazing Northern lights.

There was a smell coming from the kitchen sink drain,and a broken window but apart from that everything else was lovely , thanks

This is our third year at beachcomb Apartment and we enjoyed it again.

The only gripe is the blue settee needs chucking out? It was uncomfortable three years ago and it still is. on the TV needs updating with the channels apart from that brilliant Holiday good location short walk to the beach good food in the middle pub thanks for having us see you next year

Brilliant location.

Plenty of room for us, 2 adults and 2 grandkids. Facilities generally good. Settee getting a bit dated and the key handle broke off (the part you use to turn the key in the lock). Luckily it didn't get stuck, so I went into Seahouses and had another one cut. Funny more than a concern though. Overall, well worth the cost and enjoyed everything completely

Excellent location, with all that we needed.

We are likely to use again. However, the information booklet is out of date - including the wi-fi code and password. Also, no brush pan and a vacuum cleaner which wasn't working made end of holiday cleaning tricky.

The bathroom door locking knob came away in my hand.

leaving me locked in the bathroom for 1hr 45 until the rest of the family returned from grocery shopping and could let me out! There is a dangerously faulty electric socket in bedroom 2 which is an obvious fire risk The general cleanliness was appalling: the dish washing bowl had a layer of mud on the inside which looked as though it had been used to wash muddy boots, all the cutlery & crockery were filthy. We have a dog and therefore are used to pet friendly rentals but the entire sofa was covered in a layer of white dog/cat fur such that we actually had to put covers on to protect our clothing. This is the dirtiest and most poorly maintained property we have ever rented.

This is the third time we’ve stopped here it makes a nice base to visit surrounding areas some lovely walks without using the car nice dog friendly beaches two pubs five minutes walk away nice food See you in 2024 Phil Mary and BO

A lovely property in a quiet location.

This property is in a good location but unfortunately is poorly maintained and needs an update.

The kitchen sink tap wobbles and the cold water comes out of the hot water tap. The kitchen sink drain smelt terrible and on the second day of our stay we had to buy bleach to try and remove the smell (which returned later in our stay). On arrival I would expect washing up products to be made available especially since there is no dishwasher but we had to purchase products to wash up. The sofa in the lounge area is well past it’s sell by date and uncomfortable. We have stayed in self catering accommodation many times but this is the first time we have arrived somewhere and there wasn’t even a toilet roll in the bathroom. Bearing in mind the nearest shop is in Seahouses 3 - 4 miles away I feel this is unreasonable. The shower was adequate and provided plenty of hot water but the sealant round the bath was full of mould. Outside the front door of the property one of the paving stones was loose which could be dangerous to someone less steady on their feet. I would return to Bamburgh but not to this apartment.

This flat has seen better days.

We have stayed here for several years .The window in the second bedroom is poorly fitted and allows cold draughts. The twin beds need replacing because they are uncomfortable. Two of the bedroom lamps need new bulbs. One of the lamps is not suitable for bedroom use.The sofa covers are grubby. The kitchen mixer tap is incorrectly fitted and wobbles from side to side. The blinds are metal slats and rattle when the wind blows. There are no curtains. The clothes airer is broken. No toilet rolls, tea towels or pan scourer were provided.
