    “House was comfortable for our family, great location and having parking on a quiet street in Bamburgh was great.”

    However there are a few things that need to be addressed if we were to stay there again. The house was dusty and had not been cleaned well. The vacuum had not been emptied and there were empty glass bottles left in the utility room presumably by the previous guests. Also the shower height control for the handset was broken making only the overhead shower available- not great for the ladies who didn’t want wet hair with every shower There was no plug in the kitchen sink - we had one ...

Also the shower height control for the handset was broken making only the overhead shower available- not great for the ladies who didn’t want wet hair with every shower There was no plug in the kitchen sink - we had one delivered from Amazon. And the oven was possibly the worst we’ve experienced in many years of cottage stays. Also it wasn’t clear in the listing that to get out to the outside space it was through the garage and down a flight of stairs. We had planned to use the space but it was not practical for us, would have been helpful to know this beforehand If you can address these issues we would stay there again. Happy to discuss if that helps the owners improve.

Castlewood, located in the heart of Bamburgh is a superb family holiday cottage that has undergone major works to now offer modern, comfortable accommodation throughout together with solid oak doors, an oak staircase and laminate flooring throughout the ground floor.

With parking for 2 cars, Castlewood is the perfect property for families or friends wanting to be within walking distance of all the wonderful facilities the village of Bamburgh has to offer without worrying where to park the car.

Two dogs are also welcome at Castlewood. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Entrance hall with cloaks cupboard. Kitchen with electric oven, ceramic hob, built in grill/combi microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and breakfast bar open to Lounge/Dining area. Lounge area with comfy leather sofas and armchair, coffee table, Smart TV and gas wood burner style fire. Dining area with table and chairs. Utility room with sink, washing machine, tumble drier and drinks fridge. Downstairs cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin. FIRST FLOOR Castle view from landing. Bedroom 1 with king size bed, fitted wardrobes with shelves and hanging space, tv, chest of drawers.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
