“The location of the property was excellent and local bars and restaurants were only yards away.”

The property itself was comfortable overall but there were a few concerns which could easily be rectified. There was quite a large damp/mouldy patch in the living room in the top corner. There was also paint peeling from the ceiling in the bathroom. The water pressure was poor and therefore the shower was below standard. Also the plug didn't work properly so having a bath was also difficult with water gradually escaping. Water was also escaping from the bottom of the shower head. The ...

The apartment was generally clean but a deeper clean was needed in some areas such as the oven hob, the skirting boards and around the fireplace. Also no cleaning materials were supplied. The vacuum cleaner was also old and suction was poor. Therefore we did our best to clean at the end of the holiday with the materials we had. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would use the apartment again, particularly if the issues listed were resolved.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
