“This is our second stay at the property and we will probably return.”

This is because it is in such a good location, ideal for walking and not having to move the car. However, I do feel, given it's price category, that I need to make a couple of points. Firstly given the property is for 4 people, and there are only 2 two seater sofas, I do feel at least some foot stools could be provided. There were 3 of us staying this time, and even then, there is no room to stretch out, relax and put your feet up after a days walking. Secondly, the toaster, I mean really, for 4 ...

There were 3 of us staying this time, and even then, there is no room to stretch out, relax and put your feet up after a days walking. Secondly, the toaster, I mean really, for 4 people? It's not even big enough to toast a full size slice of bread. Minor improvements I feel, at very little cost. Overall a nice cottage that would benefit from some upgrading comfort wise.

Thanks for your comments. We are staying now at Stone Cottage and have purchased a 4 slice toaster and a footstool. Property Owner

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
