“What a fantastic house!”
We were impressed from the moment we stepped into the garden. The house is immaculate throughout, well equipped, beautifully furnished and decorated, with lots of space to spread out and relax. There is a small courtyard to the rear, which catches the sun for a good part of the day and a dedicated parking space - the latter is like gold dust in Bamburgh!
We had two of the kids and two granddaughters with us for the first few days and everything we needed in terms of cots, high chairs etc. was to hand - all high quality kit and squeaky clean.
We had two bathrooms, three toilets, so no queues! The bedrooms are all well lit, nicely furnished, with very comfy beds and lovely bedlinen throughout.
The kitchen is fabulous - everything you need is here. A great cooker, microwave, dishwasher, a washer/dryer and a roomy fridge and freezer. Plenty of light floods in from the courtyard and a there's a very hand porch for boots, shoes and sandy stuff.
The whole place is well suited to family occupation - plenty of board games, and a spacious front garden which is fully enclosed. Charlie the dog loved it!
As if all that wasn't enough, as you step out of the door, you are mere yards from a selection of places to eat and drink, and a few shops selling all the basics that you need if you're self catering. Because the house is set back slightly from Front Street (the main street), you don't hear any noise from these places at all and yet they are virtually on your doorstep.
This is a definite re-booking for us - Bamburgh is a gem of a place and the castle is simply surreal - as you look down the main street towards it, you get the distinct impression that a special effects team was hired to generate and project a huge backdrop.......utterly stunning.
