Cheviot View

This is our third visit to this holiday home.

All in all we find this place suits our needs perfectly. Love sitting in the conservatory reading and listening to all the birds. The garden had been done when we arrived which looked lovely, other times it's been really overgrown. One small thing, would love a change of garden furniture- one there is aluminium and really reflects the sun in your eyes when relaxing in garden.

Absence of kitchen knives for preparing food.

Also a more modern TV with apps for streaming. Otherwise everything was fine.

Lovely property with a great location for the beach.

Comfortable and clean also milk and bread supplied which was a nice surprise.We would stay here again.

Second time we have stayed here but dishwasher had dirty pots in which were not ours .

I hope the owner does not think they are ours as dishwasher was full last time we went

We unfortunatly came home a day earlier due to the weather this was our second visit to cheviot view and I'm sure won't be our last lovely cottage but the only thing is there's no heating in the bedrooms so it was very cold in the rooms maybe a electric heater would be helpful otherwise everything else was great

Pleasant little house kept nicely warm by the two electric radiators downstairs (although one is below the fire detector which went off a couple of times).

No views downstairs (lounge looks straight on to next doors wall), bedroom overlooks a field. Freezer in dire need of defrost and mattress needs renewing ( ok if you like very soft mattress). Kitchen quite basic so I needed scales, wooden spoon, kitchen towel, bin bags ( one was left in the bin) etc. Had to clear up dog poo in the garden from a previous occupant. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and also the very well stocked village shop. Can recommend the Courtyard Cafe in the village, the Seafield Coast Club in Seahouses and the Ship at Low Newton- all excellent food and friendly service ( all allow dogs).

Everything was going really well on the first day.

The property was as described by Sykes and was clean and welcoming. Unfortunately when we went to bed the mattress was extremely uncomfortable - well past its use by date! I hardly slept the first night and had a very sore back in the morning. I tried to settle on the second night but was so uncomfortable that at 4am I moved into the single bed and slept there for the rest of our stay. Not what you expect when on holiday with your husband!

Lovely accommodation for me and my dog.

Well equipped, really clean and a secure garden. Set centrally for everything in Beadnell in a quiet cul de sac. No need to drive if you don’t want to. The owner is very helpful and I would stay again for sure.

Very well equipped property with plenty of items to entertain children.

Beautiful conservatory overlooking small garden and fields. Ideal for dog owners as there are beautiful beaches within walking distance. Liked the fact that the property had a bath as well as a shower. We loved having a TV in the bedroom. The only downside was the wardrobe which was filled with spare linen and consequently insufficient room to hang our clothes. Small shop in the village with plenty of choice for holidaymakers. We would definitely return to this property in the future.

Great place as a base.

It had everything we needed, liked that there were spare dog leads in the porch. With our 2 dogs, it was a little small for us, but that’s on us not a criticism of the place.

House was lovely but I think whoever cleans the place are letting the owner down by not doing a good job.

.bits all over and had to message the owner to tell her that the dirty pots left in the dishwasher were not ours

Had a lovely stay at Cheviot View.

Just a pity the dishwasher was still not working after previous reviews had reported it broken. The microwave turning plate doesn’t turn properly due to improper maintenance. Apart from these two issues everything else was good. The house was lovely and warm despite the cold temperatures we endured during our stay. Fully enclosed back garden which was fantastic as we had dogs. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we will be returning.

Clean, warm and comfortable.

However, the dishwasher and extract fan in the bathroom were broken and the bath drains so slowly you are ankle deep in water by the end of the shower. The dining table is too large for the room, so it would be impossible to use all 4 dining chairs without moving a sofa.

The property was beautifully clean.

But we found it very tiny with little storage space. We had to speak to the owner, who was perfectly helpful and offered to come to put things right - but she lives an hour and a half away. We found the house cold. We didn't understand how the electric wall heaters worked - and one of the two downstairs did not work at all. There is no heating in the bathroom or the bedrooms. We stayed in October: we were generally lucky with the weather but one very rainy day we did get wet and it was impossible to get our wet clothes dry. The dishwasher didn't work at all and lightbulbs not replaced. The welcome pack was not what we expected - 4 white bread buns and a bottle of milk!

Lovely house plenty of hot water for the bath.

The conservatory and porch just give it that extra space for drying wet walking clothes.

The holiday cottage is in a great location for seahouses and Bamborough and other places.

The garden is great for dogs as very secure. But it needs a bit of work there is a light hanging down under the tops in kitchen on arrival and the bath needs something doing with it as it looks like a blockage and the shower kept facing the wall so had to hold it whilst using it. The cleanliness was not good at all, there was an awful smell as soon as you walked in the front door from an old disgusting mop the hoover was full and smells, so really needs a good clean out. Very dusty all over and the bed sheets and pillow cases were not clean, the sheets need putting in the bin and replacing as both beds had what looked like paint stains on them. Unfortunately we won’t be returning back as the only good thing was the garden

Comfortable cottage, ideally situated.

Pet friendly with an enclosed garden made it ideal for us as the dog could wander in and out of the conservatory and we didn't have to worry about him getting out. All in all it made for a relaxing holiday.

We had a lovely stay on our first visit to the area.

Cheviot View is a lovely little property, in a great location. Unfortunately the property hadn't been cleaned properly and this somewhat spoiled our stay. The owner did contact the cleaning company and offered an apology. It would have been nice had the owner offered to send the cleaning company out and put right the problem! All in all, a great property that fulfilled our requirements. Other previous comments in the guest book were positive on cleanliness so it appears that we were unlucky due to a cleaner change on the day.

We had a very pleasant stay at this clean and comfortable house.

The weather was a bit mixed but did not detract from our enjoyment. Everything we needed for our stay was provided. The property was a little "bijou" for three chubby adults and is perhaps better suited to a couple with a small child, but this has not put us off and we are going to book again for next year. The fully enclosed garden was ideal for our two dogs who also loved the vast sandy beach just a few minutes drive from the property. Easily walkable if you are fit, which, unfortunately we are not. Seahouses is about two miles away and has a fully stocked Coop for all your grocery needs and there is a small, local village store. Excellent fish and chips from the van near the village shop. Would recommend.

A lovely mid-March break at Cheviot View, fortunately blessed with great weather!

The house is very comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. The dogs loved the enclosed garden. You're just a short walk from the beach and the various cafes and pubs in the village. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

Comfortable property.

Well situated for access to local shop and hotels. Unfortunately weather was very wet but we still enjoyed our stay at Cheviot View.

Cheviot View is so well situated for Beadnell beach(es) and buses to other local beaches / coastal attractions It has all you need in the bright modern kitchen, and the conservatory is a great bonus space.

Small enclosed lawn /patio great for our tiny dog. 2 pleasant pub restaurants within 5 min walk and breakfast eateries close by. Good communication from the owners.

ideal location close to beach. Enclosed garden ideal for our little dog. The only negative I would say was garden could do with a good weed! Weeds higher than kitchen window! Other gardens were immaculate.

Fabulous cottage in excellent location❤️ - well furnished and equipped, excellent secure grass and patio garden for the dogs and us with views over field with horses and great suntrap♥️.

Walk out of the cottage in either direction for lovely beach walks or short distance in car to Seahouses, Bamburgh, Embleton.❤️ Would definitely recommend the mobile fish and chip van in Beadnell and Billy Shiels boat trip to the Farne islands

What a gorgeous week in a wonderfully equipped house!

Safe garden for the dogs, a conservatory to enjoy the sunshine. Overall very comfortable with more than enough space.

Well equipped kitchen / sitting room in excellent condition.

Everything sparkly clean. The accommodation would be described as "bijou" by an estate agent, but the sunny conservatory is a great bonus. Position is brilliant for beach walkers and handy for buses to North and South coast. We had a superb time here with our tiny dog, and thoroughly recommend it. Surprised there wasn't a visitor's book to share/ read about other guests recommended places/eateries/walks etc. One niggle - just 1/2 a toilet roll, had to buy more from the excellent village shop!

GOOD FOR PARKING. GREAT REAR GARDEN WITH FURNITURE. SUPERB KITCHEN - FRIDGE, FREEZER, WASHING MACHINE, DISHWASHER. CONSERVATORY TO REAR A LOVELY BONUS. SECOND BEDROOM WITH SINGLE BED REASONABLE FOR A CHILD. WOULD THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND FOR A COUPLE OR FAMILY WITH ONE CHILD.

Few cleaning materials available (I had brought surface wipes and tea towels with me), had to buy bin bags, bath/ shower cleaner and washing up liquid which I could have brought from home if advised.

We’ve just spent a brilliant week at Cheviot View, Beadnell.

The house was perfect in every way - clean, very comfortable, extremely well equipped, and with a lovely sunny conservatory and enclosed back garden! The location of the property is perfect - just a short walk to the beach, shop and the Craster Arms, which servers great food & has a lovely, dog friendly beer garden. Beadnell has a beautiful beach and is a great location for visiting lots of places in Northumberland. We were able to do several walks from the house, using the coastal path or along the beach in both directions. There is also a very good bus service which stops close by - one day we took the bus to Craster and walked back to Beadnell! We would definitely recommend staying at Cheviot view and hope to be returning for another holiday there in the future!

We have been to Cheviot View many times and it is a great location for our seaside holidays.

The cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and we have booked again in September.

All newly refurbished due to water damage. Brand new settees arrived on Friday and so comfortable. Highly recommend this property and appreciate how well the owners have furnished. Actually got to meet them for the first time and what a lovely couple

Perfectly placed for beach and pubs. It was very clean and extremely comfortable. Plus it was one of the best equipped properties we have ever stayed in. Thank you.

Lovely cottage within a quiet village.

Good base for visiting the Northumberland coast.

House well situated for all amenities although very small and close to neighbours so very overlooked if you were to sit outside in the garden, where there is no shade at all.

The duvet provided was a 13.5tog feather one, much too hot for the summer - would suggest an alternative could be provided giving better quality of sleep.

We had a problem with the hot water.

The service was exceptional and came out straight away and fixed. Very happy and had a lovely stay.

We loved our stay at Cheviot View, on arrival there was hand sanitiser & the house itself was spotlessly clean, very reassuring given the current covid situation.

The property was comfortable & had everything we needed - it’s very much a home from home & has an enclosed garden to the rear, ideal for our Border Terrier and us to sit out in on warm days, or on not so warm days there’s a lovely conservatory to sit in & relax. I would highly recommend this property. Ideally located in Beadnell itself but also great for exploring further afield around beautiful Northumberland. We will definitely be returning to this property in the future.

Quiet location,ideal touring location

This was the first time, due to Covid, that we had been on this type of holiday.

Everything was excellent and as my good lady is a cleanaholic she was very impressed. Only a 5 minute walk to the seafront and then a pleasant walk to the harbour or along the beach. Found the excellent village pub which has a large beer garden and easy to use online food and drink ordering system. All in all a good week had and the dogs liked it too!

We had a relaxing week in Beadnall the holiday let was comfortable the conservatory is a relaxing place to sit and and enjoy the view, weather was cold but dry so got lots of walks around the area the local café is dog friendly, enjoyed the scones and coffee , will be returning next year already booked Margaret and David co Durham

We have been using self catering cottages for over 38 years.

One thing that is most important to my wife and I, but particularly myself. I am a wrinkly (75) with bad legs and nerve damage to my feet, so getting up from a seated position is now not easy. I find a number of self catering accommodation have these modern settees that are a leather effect and tend to be very low, more a lounger. These may be easy to clean and resistance to getting dirty, but for people of my age, even those more health than myself find it difficult to both get down to seat on them but so much harder to get up. It is easier to get on the floor and then try to get up off something near by. In this last house I used one of the chair form the garden room. Those type of settees were the only thing in Cheviot View to mention but We do find it these days more frequent. The ground floor was brilliant apart from those two settees, the kitchen was the best we have experienced for ease of use and items provided and sufficient notices that were to the point , nicely placed and sufficient. We are hoping to return next year.

A lovely cottage, very clean, very comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished.

It had everything that we needed which made for a super weeks holiday. The garden is secure for the dogs and the conservatory a real bonus . It is in a superb location, near to the beach, the shop, the pubs and very close to other beaches and places of interest. I would certainly recommend Cheviot View and we will certainly be making a return visit!

This is the 3rd time we have booked a holiday with yourselves, and we have found that this time was far superior, as we used your app on my android, and it was wonderful as whenever I had a difficult day at work, I would open the app up and look at our recent booking and it would tell me how many days to my holiday, plus all the necessary information was there to hand if we needed it whilst away.

Had a lovely week in Beadnell - this is a fantastic area.

Cheviot View is a lovely little cottage, plenty big enough for a couple and our little dog. It was missing a couple of kitchen essentials for us (kitchen knives and a decent sized, deep frying pan or wok), but was otherwise well provisioned. Enjoyed spotting the local wildlife from the back garden - especially a handsome hare which was a frequent visitor to the field. Lots of great walks directly from the cottage. We particularly like the coastal walk to Low Newton to visit the Ship Inn for lunch!

The location was ideal for what we wanted to do.

However, we found the property to be in need of a serious deep clean and referbishment. In places the dust was so thick you could write in it, so we did. Mould was growing inside the bathroom cabinet and we had to clean the toilet and bath before they could be used. The wall paper is peeling off the wall in the lounge and the paintwork is chipped, the cooker and microwave were both filthy. We will not be returning to this property or recommending it to any of our friends. If I were you I would be seriously questioning the rating you give this rental property. As it stands it is not worth the money being charged and reflects badly upon your company.

Really great cottage, beautifully presented with all the facilities you will need for a splendid holiday.

A great place to stay with everything you need.

Highly recommend. Conservatory a sunny bonus. Minutes from fabulous beaches and not far from super castles. Together with boat trips to see fab birds including puffins and seals. Beadnell is a brilliant little place with one village shop, a cafe and a pub but minutes from neighbouring Seahouses with a good range of shops.

Ideal location within Beadnell, the cottage was very clean and welcoming.

You have everything you need for your stay. Would recommend.

I not only enjoyed staying at this cottage for a week, I could have happily moved into it.

It has everything a person needs for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable, 2 and 3 seater sofas meant me and my hubby could have one each, washer, disherwasher, microwave, television in the living area and bedroom................ the list could go on and on. The property is close close to the pub and cafe which both serve lovely food. There are lovely beaches nearby. You can easily walk to Seahouses and for the more adventurous to Low Newton. This was our second stay at this property and hopefully it won't be our last.

Stayed on this street before and this is the best. Home from home. Spacious and welcoming. The pictures do not do it justice. Lovely touch of bread and milk on arrival. The view from the garden overlooking field with horses in. Lovely conservatory. Could speak all day about this place. If you are looking for somewhere you will not go wrong if you book this. Close to sea and lovely pub in village.

I have stayed in Beadnell in this street several times.

Cheviot View is by far my favourite. It had a lovely homely feel and the space felt much larger than some similar properties. It was very warm and cosy and felt like home from day one. I could have happily lived there. The kitchen was very well equipped and the surprise dishwasher was a bonus. Horses greeting you over the back wall was sweet. Perfect base to explore Beadnell and the Northumbrian Coast. I will be back to Cheviot View. Lovely. There were some minor issues, only one wine glass, no bulbs worked in any of the lamps and the door from the conservatory into the house could not be opened from the conservatory which held one of our party hostage. However, these did not spoil our holiday one bit. Nice to see games, DVDs and card games for those rainy days. Lovely bedrooms, cosy, quiet, space for quiet reading, comfy living space, comfy beds that made for some very sound sleeps. I will be back.

This was our 7th visit to Cheviot View so speaks volumes .

All the recent work done in the house have i,proved it greatly . It is in an ideal location and great to use as a base for travelling about the area . We will return again hopefully .

A lovely little place to stay.

The views across the fields from the garden were fabulous and the horses came to say hello every day. The cottage had all the facilities expected including a little welcome pack. Beadnell is a lovely place, the beach is fabulous. There's a little shop in the village (with more a mile away in Seahouses) and The Craster Arms is little gem, great food, extremely dog friendly and they do a brilliant quiz night! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little place - love Beadnell - can't wait to come back.

Loved the location, beaches were brilliant my 2 dogs had great fun exploring, overall an exciting but relaxing place, loved the area and places nearby too.

This property was so cosy.

It was in the heart of the village and every where we wanted to visit was easily accessible, by car or on foot. Loved this holiday.

7th time we have been to this property and was as good as the first.

This is our second visit we stayed in September 2014 and this September 2016 we hope we can visit again in the future.

Fabulous cottage.

Very comfy, with everything and more than you could possibly need to have a lovely holiday. Far exceeded expectations, as has been re-decorated, new flooring and new cooker/hob and flat screen TV in lounge and master-bedroom since pictures on web-site published. Bread and milk which had been left much appreciated. 5 minute walk to lovely small, safe and sheltered beach, fish and chip shop, small, but amply stocked shop and pub and in easy reach of A1 which made travelling to attractions in the area much easier. Only problem was WiFi not too reliable, but think that was the providers fault, not the cottages! Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to re-book.
