“Positives: The holiday property was well equipped and very comfortable.”

The sofas and bed were really comfy. The garden was well maintained. Parking was ample. Location was perfect, near the beach, harbour and ebbas neuk. We had a fantastic stay in Dune view and would book to stay here again. Negatives: The wifi was quite slow and the TVs need replacing in the living room and main bedroom as both were not working correctly or working excessively slowly (the remote doesnt fully work for the main tv room/slow the point of frustration and the smart tv aspect in the ...

The kitchen could do with thorough deep clean. We had to wash all the pots we got out the cupboard before use as they were dirty, maybe the previous people had dishwashed them but they weren't properly clean, unsure. The fridge had a build up of a brownish grime on the outside which would be wasily cleaned up. We had very noisy neighbours which was annoying at times but we appreciate there is nothing you can do about that!

“This was our second time at Dune view.”

Its had a new bathroom and now has a lovely walk in shower with another separate toilet with two large heated towel rails which means you dont keep having to use new ones. The location is superb. Minutes from the beach and harbour with fantastic sunrises and sunsets, loads of parking space, large sun deck with a graden at the front. We loved the wildlife, swifts in the eaves and a wood pigeon and chicks in the hedge. Well stocked kitchen , washer and dishwasher, comfy lounge and beds. The lounge has individual radiators and an open fire which we used as the first few nights were a bit chilly. A couple of niggles. Only one door key which could be an issue if it's two families and not enough loo roll for the week. Main bath sheets could be bigger. Im a 38 inch waist and they just fit around me However, these were minor things. We would return here again. Overall a lovely place, we love Beadnell and the area and we would return again.

The property is well kept, well equipped and a very comfortable place to stay. Beadnell itself is very picturesque and the sandy beach is minutes away from the property and as its a bay it is safe for families with small children. Highly recommended it and the owner Heather is very helpful. We shall be staying at Dune View again for sure.

“A tastefully furnished property in an excellent location.”

Settees were comfortable, as were the beds, and we appreciated the brand new bathroom and additional toilet. The lounge catches the sun for much of the day. and after a chilly start the electric radiators kept us warm once we got the hang of them. The open fire made the evenings really cosy. It was great to be able to drive right up to the back door. We loved being just a 3 minute stroll from one of the best beaches along the coast, and caught a couple of beautiful sunsets. It is a really good centre for exploring a little further afield, with plenty of longer walks close by. On a wet day we caught a convenient train from Alnmouth to Edinburgh, just an hour away. Thank you Heather for a lovely holiday, and for all your help and advice. .

In good condition and everything working. Just a few minutes walk from the beach. Enough crockery and cooking stuff for ten people, let alone five. But of course you need lots for a dishwasher. Easy parking at the back. You can park right outside the door.

It was a little cold towards the end of our holiday but the heating in the cottage kept it nice and cosy. Though the cottage is a bit overlooked by other properties it is well located in the village, being about 2 minutes walk from the beach and the harbour. The beaches here are fabulous and you can walk along them from village to village. In fact, we barely went inland all week as the beach walking was so good! We also visited Lindisfarne (30 minute drive), Bamburgh Castle (walked along beach from Seashouses), Dunsborough castle (walked along beach from Beadnell) and Alnwick (15 min drive). There are two great eating places in Beadnell (Crastor arms and Beadnell Towers). Overall a great holiday

“This was a brilliant venue for a self catering holiday on the Northumbrian coast.”

Situated in the village of Beadnall, it was perfectly located to explore a beautiful stretch of coastline from Blyth to the Scottish borders. The house is one of four properties in a block on The Wamses, very near to the harbour and the beach. The towns of Alnwick and Berwick are close by as is the tranquil Lindisfarne (Holy Island). The latter is only accessible by causeway when the tide is low. The accommodation is very well appointed and has modern furniture and equipment. The owner was very helpful and contacted us as promised forty eight hours before we arrived to give essential information re access etc. Thanks to her for facilitating a wonderful, memorable holiday with my wife and her parents.

Whilst the information given beforehand meant we were aware, the one drawback it has is you have to put £1 coins in a meter to generate electricity. In my opinion this is a somewhat out of date way of doing things. We have holidayed in about 20 cottages and caravans in the UK, and never before have we had to feed coins into meters. I should stress though this didn’t spoil the holiday or our time spent in the cottage.

Located so near to a great beach, the layout of the cottage is really comfortable. The property is very well-equipped and beds really comfy, dining area practical and sofas easy to sit and relax in. We have always had good experiences with Sykes but this property was truly a great find. With two young kids it was important they felt at home, and the enclosed garden and outdoor area was perfect. I am impressed at the simplicity of the process and how easy holidaying with Sykes really is!

A very good base from which to explore the surrounding area. The pictures of the cottage on your website do give the impression that the cottage overlooks the sea - this is not the case although the sea is literally strides away. This is not a complaint and does not detract in any way the experience we had staying here. The cottage was spot on - and we hope to visit again. We had occasion to ring the owner - who again was extremely helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family.

A traditional terraced cottage located near the harbour in popular Beadnell, just a short walk from beautiful Beadnell Bay and close to shops and pubs.

Ideally situated for a family seaside holiday, this comfortable Beadnell cottage has three bedrooms and a sitting room with cosy open fire - ideal for after those winter walks along the beach!

Guests at this Beadnell cottage have the use of a fully enclosed garden to the front that has a large secluded decked area which gets the sun all day and there is a large grassed area to the rear.

The cottage faces the dunes and has a seaview from the upstairs windows.

The renowned sandy beach at Beadnell Bay is just a few minutes' walk away.

The cottage faces a cul de sac and is therefore very quiet with no passing traffic.

The area itself offers plenty of fishing villages, castles, gardens and wildlife - a beautiful area with something for everyone.

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
