Garden Cottage

The cottage was really well-equipped for our stay - down to a full tea caddy and plenty coffee - and I do like a teapot and tea cosy!

Clearly lots of thought have gone into providing a real home-from-home. Seating and beds were comfortable and I wished I had been there longer to read more of the books. We also enjoyed the vinyl and the record player! The two gardens were appreciated by all of us; both were completely dog safe for the puppy, and the children enjoyed the swings and the space for games. We loved that it was so close to the lovely beach at Newton-by-the-sea, where we went every day for at least part of the day. Lots of good food, including the seafood van at Bamburgh. We all wished we could have stayed for longer - thanks for letting us share your home!

This property is ideally located for exploring a large part of Northumberland.

It’s within easy reach of Seahouses, Beadnell and Bamburgh along with the town of Alnwick which has plenty of interest. The accommodation is well laid out and equipped. The garden swings and BBQ were a highlight for the grandchildren.

We had a lovely family break in the cottage.

Very spacious and comfortable. Close to the coast and shops and in a lovely peaceful area. The owner was good at communicating with me and directions for the cottage were accurate.

We had a wonderful week.

Spoilt for choice with the 2 gardens both of which were well maintained and offered the close company of additional animals which my dogs loved. Sheep and cows in the fields infront of the cottage (sepearted by a track between garden and field) and gorgeous horses who said a friendly hello in the fields connecting to the back garden. The cottage was cosy and easy to alter the temperature with heating or wood burner. The time of year brings an unpredictable element to the weather so we appreciated this. Perfect location for vising all of our favourite parts on Northumberland, and even some new places too. This was by far, the most well stocked kitchen we have had the privilege of using when we try to go "home from home". The WiFi in the lounge was excellent but vanished by the time you reached the bedroom at the end of the corridor. Not a major issue, but for anyone using their consoles or phones in the bedroom it could be problematic. Didn't spoilt our week. We loved it!! Thank you for having us!!

This is our third visit and it was as great as previous times.

There does seem to be an issue with the internet. I reset both boxes but it didn’t make any difference.

We had a lovely stay at Garden Cottage which is very comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen.

It is within easy driving distance of the beach at Beadnell and was ideal for the dogs with its large enclosed garden to the front and open fields directly opposite. Highly recommended.

Great property and happy to be back again.

Perfect location to explore Beadnell and the surrounding area. We will be back again next year

I couldn't find a main light in bunk bed room

Beautiful place,well situated.

has everything in cottage that you need, however think carpet especially in living room is due a change or even a hard wood floor probably because of pets ,also internet was not always working,and only one tv which really looks like it could do with updating, really needs at least one more TV, very nice place thou,stayed in cottage nextdoor last year the smithy and definitely preferred that.

A lovely peaceful place, perfect for exploring the wonderful coastline.

Great gardens front and back, superb views. The cottage was very well equipped, although the kitchen cupboards were rammed with stuff which left very little space for food storage. The towel rail in the Jack and Jill bathroom didn't work so there was nowhere to dry towels. Also the tap in that bathroom is too far from the basin sink so the water goes everywhere. The floor around the edges of the bathrooms and the areas behind the loo were filthy and all the skirting boards dirty. The cleaning just needs to be more thorough. Sadly there must have been a wasps nest close by meaning we couldn't open the windows without an invasion. Not withstanding all that it is somewhere we would come back to.

Cosy, well equipped and peaceful, the perfect stay for a couple and two dogs.

The cottage is top notch and the gardens safe and secure for our dogs. Particularly enjoyed the record player and spinning a few LPs :) Set within, what I am guessing, is a small complex of privately owned second homes developed from renovated farm buildings. Far reaching views to a glimpse of the sea on the horizon. Excellent location and easy to get to everywhere from here, close to Seahouses for amenities. Loved it. Thank you owners, for sharing your obviously much loved holiday home.

We had no difficulty in finding the property.

On arrival we were shocked by how many properties were on the complex. Once we parked the car and went into the property it was like being in a different world. We had a wonderful garden with views of the cows and their calves. We also could see the sea in the distance which was a bonus. We also had a garden at the front of the property but we didnt use that much. The dogs were very safe in both gardens. We had everything we needed in the cottage and the welcome box was appreciated. We only experienced one problem and that was being able to have enough hot water to fill the baths. The water was hot then cold then hot then cold and we ended up with a bath or warm water which did not work for either of us. The showers were fine. We had cold nights and needed the heating which was great and we felt very warm and snug. We loved the location and being able to reach Beadnell Bay Beach in minutes. The beach was beautiful and our dogs absolutely loved it. I think we both would like to come back another time as we felt very happy at the cottage. The whole area felt like you had gone back in time and it felt like the old days. I think the time of year and the weather we had made it special. Lovely to see the baby lambs jumping around and even saw a baby hare.

Lovely cottage with lots of amenities and nice touches.

Good communication with owner regarding issue with window in childrens room which was resolved relatively quickly. Beautiful scenary, so nice to sit in the garden in the morning eating breakfast and listening to the bird song. Good location for Bamburgh, Howick Hall, Lindisfarne and close to the coast.

Clean & very comfortable ( slept so well-bed v comfy) Perfectly positioned for exploring Northumberland coast. Everything in cottage that we could possibly need! Would definitely recommend !!

Had wonderful comfy beds to see the night sky in all its glory was wonderful.

Great location Only one down side would put new shower screens in that are fixed as the water came through the bottom of the expandable screen.

Fabulous place to stay, peaceful and idyllic with everything you could need for a perfect stay, not far from everywhere you want to visit.

Swings for kids plus wildlife from the back garden was amazing, will definitely go back as especially good if you have dogs, lots to keep them occupied plus cottage is beautiful. Had an issue with water but owners got in touch and it was a Northumbrian water issue and nothing to do with the cottage itself, all sorted quickly and efficiently, just wished we could have stayed longer

We did find it difficult to recycle food waste and as we are keen cooks we did have quite a bit that had to go into the general bin as we were not sure what else to do with it

The cottage was a home from home in a rural and peaceful setting providing everything you could possibly want, in an area with numerous outstanding beaches and places of interest.

It is a cottage I would have no hesitation in booking again. The only word of caution I would make sure description of cottage mentioned Eucalyptus tree in front garden. I know that it is only toxic to dogs if eaten, but owners would be aware to keep any eye on their dog to ensure that they were ok.

We had a great 3 night stay-the cottage was cosy and clean.

The garden front and back was great! The bed linen was good quality and instructions were clear.we would love to come back.the only thing I could t find was an iron but didn’t really matter!

We had a lovely short stay at garden cottage.

The cottage is cosy with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing visit. The location is quiet & peaceful yet only a short drive from the beaches, town’s & villages. When we next visit Northumberland we will choose this cottage as our base again.

Beautiful cottage, loved the retro feel and well equipped with toys for the children.

The children loved playing in garden on swings. Playhouse is lovely too. Handy outhouse packed with extra summer items and even bikes. Cottage cosy, loved playing the oldies on vinyl. Bed linen and towels lovely and clean. Only disappointment was the oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher were dirty, we needed to clean them before use. The oven in particular was full of old food remnants and thick grease on trays. It didn't spoil our break and will definitely return.

The cottage was very well equipped. Thought has gone into every detail. Really enjoyed our stay.

Was a little disappointed to have to clean the fridge and oven trays - although this may have been due to the boiler not working when we arrived and no hot water avail when cleaning team were in.

(Boiler issued resolved v speedily). A few things in the Jack & Jill bathroom need attention - shower screen doesn't fit so floor floods, fan didn't appear to work and light fitting hanging off. Overall the cottage is nice and comfy, and it was a joy to watch the lamb count rise each day in the field opposite. Its a good base for getting out and about and has some fab dog walking beaches nearby.

Garden cottage was a very well presented property equipped to a very high standard .

One of the cleanest holiday lets we have ever used, great location to explore Northumberland will definitely be looking to book again.

Excellent, perfectly positioned cottage in a quiet private community location, yet within under 10 mins drive to wonderful Beadnell beach.

Within driving distance of 30 mins to main local attractions, great Coop at Seahouses. The 3 bedroom cottage was very well equipped with all info on hand for kitchen white goods and heating. Gardens are beautifully kept with great views. Very, very comfortable and would stay again.

The location is lovely.

The cottage was disappointing as it needs a really good clean and some maintenance. The tap in the bathroom by the door needs mending and several of the interior doors are very difficult to shut or open. The en suite needs some love, its mouldy and shabby. There was dust and cobwebs and just general grubbiness which is such a shame as it is a lovely cottage and I'm sure the owner is paying someone to clean. I had to remove dust and cobwebs in the bedroom and clean the back of the loos and the back of the doors before we could hang things on them. The towel rail only worked with the heating, the electric element didn't work which was a shame because in warm weather you dont need the heating on, also there is no towel rail in the front bathroom. The listing needs to identify that there is a coffee maker and hairdryer as we packed these bulky items but arrived to find them in the cottage. Also to advise that there are more comfortable garden chairs, windbreaks for the beach and even bikes in the laundry shed. The garden is lovely but I think the listing should highlight that the walls/fences are quite low to alert dog owners. The cottage is very well equipped. One thing I would suggest is summer weight duvets would be nice. One mattress is quite firm the other rather soft and uncomfy so a topper would improve both. The dining chairs are not comfortable which would be an issue if there were 4 large-ish adults as there wouldn't be enough seating to watch tv comfortably for example. The cottage is in a superb position close to many lovely places and whilst I would return to this area I would choose a different cottage I am afraid, possibly even the adjoining cottage. This is a shame particularly as other recent guests mentioned the mattress and the cleanliness I had hoped the owner might have improved things.

Upon our arrival at around 15.

03pm the man who was cleaning the property was just coming out and he asked if we were going in and left the key in the door for us and said he hoped we enjoyed our stay. When we got into the property, I wish I had known that there wouldn't be any toilet roll as I would have taken some with me...I had to go and buy some. The facilities were amazing it had so much stuff , from absolutely everything you could need in the kitchen to binoculars on the living room window. The bed's were comfortable as was the sofa. I was a little concerned about the low fence height in the gardens but I had seen this from the photo's of the property....I just made sure our dog's were not left unattended in the garden, as there were sheep one side and cow's the other side. Just a little bit of feedback for the owners...there was quite a lot of dust in the 2 double bedrooms and on window sills, skirting boards and low ledges in the bathroom off of the kitchen and some cobwebs....the owners are probably paying a cleaning company quite a bit to do this properly....but saying this I would still go back to garden cottage it is beautiful....the children's bedroom is fantastically equipped, there is even toy's in the living room and garden. The whole area is amazing....I had only booked the property a week before we arrived as we needed to get away after our son's funeral. I was going to leave a note in the guest book but forgot to do it ....thank you it was a break that we really enjoyed and needed.

Lovely well maintained cottage and gardens.

Everything we could possibly need supplied. Only drawback was bed off left of living room could do with a new mattress or topper.

The cottage was fantastic, high standard of cleanliness and everything was provided that you could possibly want.

We will be definitely arranging another stop there
