House Martins (Beadnell)

A great place to stay for visiting the Northumberland coast.

The house had everything required for a comfortable week’s holiday. Within a short walking distance to a few lovely restaurants and pubs.

The bedroom curtains are a bit thin and don't keep out enough light, so we were up with the dawn.

A few more trays in the kitchen as we love sitting in front of the TV while having breakfast. Otherwise all was great.

We enjoyed a lovely week at House Martins.

The house was clean, comfy, well equipped and spacious enough for a family of 4 (including 2 teenagers). The location was perfect - a couple of minutes walk to the beautiful beach and close to nearby interesting towns and other beaches. We would definitely return and recommend to others - thank you for a great stay.

We've been to to house Martin's a few times now, the property is a good base for the area.

its clean and comfortable.theres probably better property out there, but not for this money highly recommended.

It’s a very good location. , quiet and a short walk from the lovely beach. The house was comfortable and warm and well equipped. Overall a very relaxing stay and hope to return soon !

Very comfy.

We were lucky with weather had to turn hearing off. Plenty of hot water. Every kitchen utensil you can think of at hand. The estate vey quiet sleep well. Visited Berwick Wooler. Bambourgh. Seahouses, walkwith , Alnmouth each and every one worth a visit. Pubs very friendly people. Lovely crab sandwiches at Craster great walk to castle. Beadnell harbour and kilns great.

Very well maintained and comfortable house.

Close proximity to the beach and lovely quiet location. Electric hob difficult to use could benefit from an upgrade in the future. Would definitely book again.

We have stayed at House Martins 2 years ago and again it was a really comfortable stay.

Only small niggle was the lack of a handle for the grill pan but thats all. Otherwise just an apology to the owners because we had a really intermittent internet connection and I didn't get the email regarding putting bedding and towels in basket until I got home!! I think it is a definite possibility we will be back to House Martins sometime in the future.

Home located in a great location to the beach, bed we’re super comfortable, lovely touch of a welcome gift basket.

We were very impressed with the location, being only a couple of minutes walk from the Shore, the Harbour and the magnificent beach.

As well as being very close to "The Landings".

Lovely cosy little house, practically furnished and decorated, within very easy walking distance of the beach.

The local artwork was particularly enjoyable, and I loved recognising familiar spots. Setup was ideal for two adults and two pre-teens, and we particularly liked the large coffee table for playing board games on! The kitchen was really well equipped, with a good range of sizes of pan (including a big one for pasta!) and lots of crockery and glasses. I did find the older style electric hob took some getting used to, and is the only aspect of the kitchen that would benefit from an upgrade. The only reason I have dropped from 5 stars to 4, is due to the lack of black out blinds or heavy curtains. We all found that this was detrimental to our sleep. I think that earlier in the year it wouldn't be an issue, but we were all woken by light levels during our May half term visit. While it wouldn't stop me visiting again, I'd certainly think about packing four sleeps masks!

Very comfortable house well equipped and nicely furnished.

Will definitely be back. The front door needs attention it sticks and quite different to open.

Really pleased with our stay. Comfortable, very well equipped, clean and warm. Very good value for money. We may well be back again on autumn.

Far better than expected.

Not the most convenient location (within Beadnell) for us, but we knew where it was when we booked, so that is in no way a complaint. In fact, if we decide to go back to Beadnell we'd be looking for vacancies at the same address.

Lovely little semi on quiet road within 5 minutes wall to lovely beach at Beadnell, great area of you like to walk equally good if you just want to visit local castles and historic buildings

The pictures of this property do not do it justice; it is a really lovely house, very clean, bright, and nicely decorated with some great art.

It had everything we needed for week's stay with two children. It's very close to both Beadnell Beach for paddling and the rocky side of the peninsula for some evening rock-pooling expeditions. Seahouses is a short drive with restaurants, cafes, a good Co-op, and the quay for boat trips out to the Farne Islands. We would visit again - there was so much to do locally and the coastline is beautiful.

All was more or less as listed.

I would have liked a clothes airer as I needed to do some washing and as the weather was a little unpredictable I wasn't sure if I would get enough sunshine to dry it. As it happened, I got 1 really sunny day when I got it dry outside. Also unfortunately we had a power cut on the first Monday which took out all the electrics in the property for over 2 hours. We didn't find the information leaflets on local attractions until the last day and perhaps they would be better placed in the folder by the TV. We couldn't find a handle for the grill pan. Despite all the niggles, Beadnell is still spectacularly beautiful and we really enjoyed the break.

Generally the condition of the house was great but we were very disappointed to find that the Wi-Fi only provided 2Mbps at best, which we found to be barely useable.

Our smartphones were constantly struggling to connect with servers, never mind download graphics. There is no reason why this couldn’t be upgraded - other properties nearby have 30Mbps! Also the top tray of the dishwasher kept collapsing. This had been reported in a review earlier this year but it has not yet been addressed. It’s a shame to have to raise obvious defects as otherwise House Martins is a good holiday home in terms of comfort and cleanliness.

Key safe door was a bit difficult to open.

Forgot to mention bathroom extractor fan didn’t seem to be working, otherwise all good thanks.

As a base to explore the Northumberland coast it was excellent.

Small but good value for what we paid. Well equipped and mostly very well maintained,( one small problem with left runner of top basket of dishwasher) Would happily stay there again.

Property was as described, tidy and clean and we enjoyed the welcome pack of drinks and biscuits.

When we contacted the owner about a couple of maintenance issues he was quick to respond.

The location was excellent - just minutes from the beach, and in close proximity to loads to do along the Northumberland coast. The welcome pack left by the owners (and other supplies) was the best we have ever received.

The property is of an extremely high standard and far exceeded what I expected.

The house is clean, modern, and well furnished - ideally situated for Seahouses and Alnwick. Great location for walkers also.

The House Martins was a very clean welcoming home for the week.

It had everything and more that we needed for a comfortable stay. Every little detail had been considered. It even had all the bits that we forgot! The welcome pack was a lovely touch! We had the pleasure of picking the delicious raspberries in the garden and the beach equipment was a great idea to use and take to the beach.

The house is very cosy and well presented in an ideal location for visiting local attractions and the stunning coastline.

A wonderful base located in our favourite seaside town of Beadnell.

A modern style house nestled in a quiet housing estate, with just a short walk to the the bay. Clean, tidy and everything you need for a family of four, including a sunny spot to sit outside in the enclosed garden. A very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at House Martins - we have visited Seahouses numerous times over the years but this was our first stay in Beadnell and it was perfect.

The house was clean, well stocked (soap and dishwasher tablets provided was so helpful), and comfortable. The garden was also a great place to relax with plenty of furniture. Being so close to the beach was obviously wonderful! My boyfriend proposed to me in the garden of the property after a lovely day on the beach and week of exploring the area. Couldn't have asked for a better property to have this special moment in! Thanks for playing a big part in our story.
