Lavender Cottage

Great location for visiting Northumberland.

Lovely house with plenty of space and good facilities. Loved looking out over the field for the horse. Good beds. Good shower. Good cooker. Lovely local shop. Lovely beaches.

This is a delightful property in a beautiful village ideal for exploring the charms of Northumbria.

Highly recommended.

Lovely location and property was spotless.

Stairs are a bit steep for anyone with mobility issues. More towels need to be supplied as 2 bathtowels and 2 hand towels are not enough if 3 guests are staying. Enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time in Beadnell.

Lavender Cottage was a perfect base with everything we needed. They had thought of everything. Very well appointed.

A very comfortable cottage in an excellent location.

The extention is great and the new tv/ media wall spot on. The welcome pack and flowers were a very nice touch and much appreciated. Two small things. One a thicker duvet would have been appreciated as it was quite cool at night. Secondly an electric towel rail in the bathroom would have been good for keeping towels dry and taking chill off the bathroom. Apart from that all good thankyou so much

Well equipped kitchen. Great base for beach and village amenities.

Lovely cottage, well furnished and equipped.

Downstairs is nice, bright and spacious. Only thing we might say is a better blackout for the small single room would be good in the unexpected brilliant, hot, sunny weather we had all week (it got bright very early)! It was nice to walk to Seahouses along the coast and take the train from Alnmouth to Newcastle. Bamburgh was lovely but highlights were Cragside and Lindisfarne.

The property has been totally refurbished and the pictures on your site no longer do it justice. They need updating. Otherwise a big 10/10.

Recent extension which has replaced the conservatory was a pleasant surprise.

We used the Cottage as a base to walk the Northumberland Costal Path, the property had everything we needed, in a nice quiet location with a local shop and pubs. Beadnell is on a bus route which allowed us to travel each day to walk the Costal Path.

..a lot of effort has been put into it. We were the third visitors since the work was completed and we appreciated the luxury furnishings and fittings. Garden has been gravelled over which the dog enjoyed. Comfortable cottage which provided a peaceful retreat when the weather was unstable. Well located for all the local attractions and the beach walks were only 5 mins walk at the bottom of the road. All in all we enjoyed our peaceful relaxing time in the cottage and will be back Oh don't forget the door stops Julie!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Lavender cottage as it had been renovated downstairs increasing the area with a lovely extension where the conservatory use to be.

It made the room very bright. The kitchen had everything you would need for self catering which was lovely and it is always nice to find the owners have give you coffee, tea, milk & delicious biscuits for us. The beds were very comfortable with lovely pillows & duvets. My only complaint is that the blinds in the bedrooms are thin & set on the outside of the window recess therefore it was very light first thing in the morning which did disturb our sleep. The bathroom is adequate. The electric shower was okay but not much water pressure. After saying this, we would happily return to Lavender cottage.

We have just returned from a great week at Lavender Cottage- it was cosy and comfortable.

We had everything we needed, even egg cups as generally they aren’t available and we take our own. Lovely back garden which backed onto the field with the horse, made it so peaceful and tranquil. You could literally hear a pin drop. Lots of amazing walks straight out of the door, and within easy reach of Berwick, Holy Island, Alnwick and smaller coastal villages Seahouses, Bamburgh, Alnmouth,Warkworth and Amble all worth a visit. Amazing food at The Courtyard and The Landing in Beadnell Village. Couldn’t fault our stay. Tea, coffee, milk and cookies were much appreciated when we arrived as were the pretty flowers. A lovely week and we will be back! Thank you to Julie and Alan

Lovely property, just right for us.

Comfortable furniture and beds with everything needed for a week's holiday. Lovely weather was the icing on the cake. Only a short walk to the beach which our dog loved. Would definitely recommend Lavender Cottage and would book again.

The owners went to a lot of trouble to make us feel welcome and to quickly put right the slight problem with the toilet - for which we were very grateful. It was a very comfortable place, in a quiet, peaceful location - we really enjoyed being there. Thank you!

we had a great stay at Lavender cottage, 3 adults and the place was roomy enough for us, loved the conservatory on the back of the house.

new owners had recently taken over, and the place felt fresh and clean, the kitchen was well stocked with the necessary equipment, we eat out most of the time, but do enjoy trying some good local food to cook ourselves (Turnbull's at Alnwick is excellent), and there was all the utensils that we needed to cook a couple of meals during the week, the location is great for the local places to drink and eat, and only a short walk to the beach. It was a nice touch to have tea, coffee, fresh milk left for us, salt pepper, foil and cling film, and washing up liquid, scourers and cloths, just simple items but such a help when self catering, having had rentals in the past that had nothing but the furniture! I would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely cottage in a nice spot close to a lovely beach and the shop and pubs.

Nice garden and conservatory to enjoy the sun.

Small difficulties finding some things but as cottage has a new owner, to be expected Did not cause any problems.

We are sure the brochure in the property will be amended. Otherwise great cottage (horse was a little standoffish) Greeted by the owners which was nice. Have never had any problems with any Sykes cottages

Had a lovely week at lavender cottage.

It’s under new ownership, and as just been decorated throughout . The new owners told us they still have a few bits they want to do, but it was nothing that spoiled our enjoyment of the cottage. Had read a few reviews previously saying it wasn’t very clean, but that isn’t the case now, it was spotless
