“We had a great fortnight in this delightful cottage.”

First impressions were of cleanliness and spaciousness that we hadn't expected in such a small building. Everything we needed for our stay was provided and more. The beds were really comfy and the showers great. The weather wasn't good for part of the first week but we enjoyed sitting in the sunroom, which felt cosy despite the weather outside. The garden was great and the patio gets the sun for most of the day. Beadnell Bay is our favourite place so being able to walk there every day meant we ...

Beadnell Bay is our favourite place so being able to walk there every day meant we hardly used our car. We visited the cafes and The Craster Arms a few times, all within 5 minutes walk. We also used local buses to get to Bamburgh and Seahouses and walked back. They are not frequent but always seemed to be on time and well priced. We will return to Beadnell and hope to stay at Lyndhurst Cottage again.

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
