Local area is extremely quiet and very friendly.

We enjoyed our second stay at sunrise.

this cottage is perfectly named.

it was bright with morning sun. A little too bright at times, with only a thin drape at the huge lounge window. All in all, very comfortable. For my husband, the wash basin in the bathroom was too small, He couldn't have a shave without wetting everything around him! On the flip side, the shower was brilliant, powerful and hot. The cottage is an easy few minutes walk to the sea shore, indeed you can hear the sea from here. We had a relaxing week, despite cold winds and threat of rain. There are at least 4 good eating places within Beadnell village, all readily accessible from the cottage.

The cottage was clean and well equipped but unfortunately our holiday was spoilt by the occupants of the joined on cottage no.

56.Every morning they woke us up between 04.30 and 06.00 by excessive noises banging of doors and cupboard doors and talking very loudly also smoking in the front garden again talking very loudly at 04.30.

A great place for a break.

The sea cafes and pubs etc all within walking distance. The accommodation has been really well designed. It has two internet linked tvs. The kitchen had everything you could need. A really light bright property. We plan to return.

We had a lovely stay at Sunrise cottage and would definitely return.

The location is ideal just a 5-minute walk to the beach, which made morning and evening strolls so easy, and only a few minutes from the local pub for a relaxed meal and drink. The cottage itself was spotless on arrival and clearly very well cared for. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, with a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. Our dog absolutely loved it too plenty of space to relax and the nearby beach was a big highlight. Overall, a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway with great access to local amenities. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely week here.

The property was ideal for us. It had everything that we needed. So close to the beach to walk the dog and secure for him. We had lovely meals in the Crester Arms in the village but its best to book. We travelled around and found lost of superb beaches Bailey really enjoyed his runs. We would definitely like to come back in the future.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage,it was clean ,bright and modern , kitchen was well equipped , exactly like the photos,plenty outside space although we didn't get chance to make the most of it.

Was a 5 minute walk to the beach with our little dog. Plenty of dog friendly pubs and cafes near by and a village shop . great location for exploring the Area. would definitely stay again.

Everything was great ,the only one thing is it would be nice to have some kind of blinds ,as when the sun was out, you have no control of the brightness, especially with the TV being near the window, other than that everything was great

The bathroom needs refurbishment it needs pointing work etc doing.

Rugs at the door filthy. Window ledge needed cleaning. Curtains could do with dry cleaning. Well equited kitchen. Kitchen table needs rubbing down and staining.

Excellent accommodation in a quiet area 5mins from the sea .

All you need for a relaxing holiday. Great walks for the dog and a local pub for meals & drinks. The television had great reception & internet . Will def be booking again

Lovely property in a quiet convenient location close to the beach and places to eat.

Craster Arms which is nearby serving lovely food and with a large garden area.

1st impressions before opening the door ok.

Walking in ok didnt smell clean and fresh , in the bedroom Dirty dust all over the floor , black long hairs all under the bed in the wardrobe and on the bed . In the bathroom OMG absolutely disgusting, filthy gime and dirt around the bath and taps bath and basin , toilet not cleaned filty , dirty cabinet appualing. Went into the kitchen cooker disgusting absolutely. Kettle absolutely tottally scaled , table and table mats all food left on. Before we unpacked we litterly scrubbed the whole place. The cleaners call themselves home from home well i beg to differ need new cleaners !!!!!!!. We had to buy new oven tins to cook on .and we brought ourselves a new kettle. The bathroom towels had bleach stains on . The Manuel states NO DOGS on any furniture. Well those black hairs everywhere were definitely dog hairs. From inside to outside the whole place was filthy. Would definitely definitely NOT Recommend this place. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE AMOUT WE PAID . The whole place from inside to outside was filthy

It's tired and needs a deep clean.

Lovely lounge area and comfy sofas but had to hoover the sofa and was I washed the throw as it was stained and smelly. The cushions need a wash too. Bathroom needs a complete refurb. The ridge at the bottom of the bath was full of hair and dust and the bath seal needs attention. Comfy bed which was good. Kitchen tatty, toaster rusty, cooker and extractor fan dirty. Table and chairs need replacing. Lounge area needs blinds or proper curtains. Yes there is a cleaning number on the fridge but after driving 5 hours I'm not ringing anyone! I think the owner needs to check the property.

We had a fantastic time in the cottage.

The area is very peaceful and well kept. So close to the beach, just a short walk. The cottage was very spacious and clean and tidy. It gets our recommendation every time. Hope to be back soon

This is a lovely holiday cottage and is an ideal base for visiting the sights around Northumberland.

Its got everything you need and I would definitely visit again.

Well equiped property, nice to have a fridge freezer allowing possibility of taking more local produce home extending the holiday feeling.

Loved the large window, sitting down looking at the clear skies. Great having roadside access for arrival and departure.

Lovely place, just went for a week of relaxation with the wife and dog, and the walks along the beach and the coffees at the golf clubhouse were brilliant.

The property was poorly heated, only having night storage heaters, which have always been useless, and have never improved as time has move on.

Consequently the property was cold and always felt damp, which spoilt the holiday as a whole. Apart from that things were ok overall, but I would find it hard to recommend this property.

Well equipped bungalow. Just a bit tight around the bed and by the bunks. Would have liked a shelf in bathroom and an armchair in lounge. Excellent choice of seating in the garden.

We stayed at this cottage 24th June 2023 .

We found if filthy!! The oven was that bad I couldn't put my food in there the oven tins were rusty, the bathroom was dirty the tiles hadn't been cleaned and the light was very dim and we could touch the light pull as it was black!!! , dog food was stuck to the skirting board, the big window was full of flies!! I did send photos to the owner but she dismissed them

The cottage was in a great location, within walking distance of the beach and the local shop.

The property had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. To us, a washing machine/washing line are needed when you have kids and dogs, which were just a couple of the facilities provided. The down side of the property however was it's size. The bedrooms are compact, and the kitchen was tiny. The cooker was literally inches from the sink, which meant you had to be very careful if the cooker was on and you needed to use the sink. The washing up bowl nearly got melted several times. The mattress on the double bed is probably the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. It was far too soft, you just sank into it. I do understand that something like that is personal choice, and as we have a firm mattress at home, we weren't used to it. It's just unfortunate that we don't like very soft mattresses. The living space needs to be improved. I personally don't think there is any need for 3 sofas. The 3rd "leather" sofa by the dining table isn't really needed, especially given there are only 4 people able to sleep there. Maybe an improvement on the old, dated current dining table/chairs would be better use of the space, or maybe some kind of storage, given there isn't much anywhere else. The garden area was compact, but was sufficient for a week stay. The hose was a great addition to wash everywhere down after a trip to the beach, and the outdoor seating- although we didn't use it- is a great addition too. The biggest issue we had unfortunately was cleanliness. I have taken pictures and if needed I can forward them to be looked at. The problem mostly was the floors. They were very dusty/fluffy especially around the edges/skirting. It was like the middle/main bits were hoovered/brushed, but the outer bits were just left. As we have a dog, I'm very aware that fur is a big issue, so we brushed everywhere through in the living area every day, including the floor mats. We did find a lot of what looked like white dog hair on the mats and on the sofas. Whilst I'm aware dog hair gets everywhere, it just didn't look like a great deal of attention was paid to cleaning up properly. One of the throws provided I noticed was also dirty on arrival. It looked like it had been used but not washed, just put back in the basket. I made sure all 3 were washed and dried on the day we left to make sure they were clean for the next guest. On leaving the property we brushed through but could not mop the floor due to not being a mop. The only thing we could find that resembled one was in the cleaning cupboard and was quite frankly "disgusting". It was covered in dirt/dust/fluff and was not in the best condition (again, I have a photo of this). The shower curtain was another issue, with the hemline at the bottom being black with mould. (Again I have a photo) I would like to think due to hygiene reasons that a shower curtain would be changed/washed for new guests, however this doesn't seem the case. The tiles around the bath looked like they could also do with a good clean, as the grout looked mouldy in places and particularly dirty. The kitchen sink was also lacking in attention to cleaning. I had to give it a thorough clean before I could really use it, along with the dish drainer. The dish drainer had clearly not been cleaned for a while as it had black slime/mould on it, which doesn't make a good place for clean dishes to drain. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. It was as though no real cleaning actually got done. Whilst I understand that guests are relied on to keep the property clean, some people are obviously not as bothered as others. Plus it seems attention to detail and standards are quite low, given that the property was as dirty as it was.

Very pleasant and well equipped outside area.

Lounge roomy and fairly comfortable although main sofa was very hard. Bedrooms had dehumidifiers in them and there were signs of dampness on at least one wall. I developed a wheeze after a couple of days and a runny nose which seemed to disappear when I was outside which makes me wonder if it was the dampness. Some of the furniture looked a bit "tired" and the cold tap in the kitchen seemed to spray everywhere. There was, however, plenty of hot water on demand.

Lovely cottage, well equipped with everything you really need, situated in a nice area & walking distance to beach, pub, food.

All in all we had a lovely relaxing weeks stay, will definitely like to return in the future.

A nice cosy cottage, plenty of seating, big enough for the two of us.

Shame the grill rack was filthy. Was cold on arrival, when asked the owner informed us how to override the heating system to warm the place up. Dawn was very helpful. Lovely location being 10 mins walk from the lovely beach.

Enjoyable stay, everything you need in a small property, double bed was like sleeping on a cloud ,so comfortable .

Lovely little cottage.

I have been staying here on and off for a few weeks now whilst working in the North east and Scotland. It’s a fantastic little base to come back to. Well stocked with everything you need. Good value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Sunrise Cottage.

Although it is small it is fully equipped with everything we needed including the outside space. Only one thing to feedback after using the oven a couple of times the smoke alarm beeped on the evening a few times...but we did not cook anything for long. Overall a nice cottage to stay in.

Previous reviews made us wary of the size.

But this cottage is ample for a couple. It had everything you could need for a week away. I think personally the garden/decking is a bit exposed to passerby’s if spending time out there in good weather. Beadnell was a lovely base .

Sunrise Cottage is just a 3 minute walk to the sandy beach.

The village is very quaint and just a stone’s throw away too. Fish & chips available from a van 3 nights a week....lovely. Beadnell is the perfect place to go for a relaxing, peaceful holiday.

nothing 'went wrong', firstly, I felt penalised financially for booking by phone.

The holiday let was adequate for two for a week, my expectations were wrong, if the weather had been bad the experience would have been worse. The info in the let was an ad hoc collection with multiple leaflets for the same indian restaurant, but no village orientation map, no info on local walks, which was our interest, no menu for the ONLY local pub . The let had all we needed, we just couldn't both be in the bedroom at the same time unless one of us was in bed, we couldn't sit at the table And access the kitchen area, but heigh ho caveat emptor

A little more info would be helpful to locate the the local beach/harbour as we didn't find it till later in the week, also as no glass was to be put in the re-cycling bin there was a notice in the cottage that a bottle bank was by the church but no bin was there so we travelled round with bottles in the car looking to re-cycle them eventually finding a bottle bank.

Other than that the cottage was well situated to visit various places

Although very small, it was cosy and everything we needed was provided.

The location was ideal for visiting the area and the beautiful beaches.

Property is lovely but very small .

Good for two people maybe an issue for more. Set in a lovely town a perfect base for exploring the area. Well equipped with all you need for a perfect stay. All in all good value for money. .

There wasn't a laundry bag left as we were told so had to leave it in a bin bag.

Could have done with a small coffee table or something to put drinks on. Okay for two people but I think you would struggle to sleep four even with small children

We enjoyed out stay at Sunrise Cottage.

It is very small but modern and adequate for a short break but think with four people it would be a struggle. The cottage is in a very favourable position for walking to the village for restaurants and close to Seahouses for a wider choice of places to eat. I would be happy to book this cottage again.

Unfortunately this was one of the least enjoyable Sykes 'cottages' that we have stayed in.

In our opinion: - accommodation was on the cramped side which had not been expected given the property pictures; - there were some cleanliness issues; - noise was a bit intrusive at times from the con-joined properties. On the plus side the location was very good with plenty to keep us occupied during our stay. In summary - we wouldn't be in a hurry to stop at Sunrise Cottage again. NB Happy for you publish this review or not as you feel fit. It's given as being our personal opinion relative to other self catering properties that we have stopped in.

This property was disappointing it looked bigger on the photos you could hardly swing a cat in the double bedroom!

It could do with a deep clean. We found hairs in the bath plug hole etc. We use sykes alot and we think this was not one of your best properties advertised. On the plus it had everything you needed in the kitchen and the bed was clean and comfortable. Nice soft towels.

After the initial shock of how small the cottage was, we were pleasantly surprised to find it well equipped, but in need of a some TLC.

The sofa was extremely uncomfortable, there was absolutely no privacy, if you did a little bit of washing you had to hang it outside in front of the house, where you could also sit in full view of everyone. It looked neglected outside, there were four or five pots full of weeds, when you walked down the road and saw some of the other holiday rentals with lovely gardens and pots of flowers, which also gave a bit of privacy, you realise how sad our little cottage was. I would not book it again, as we usually do when we find somewhere we like especially in such a beautiful area,or recommend it.

This is the second occasion we have used Sykes and we continue to be impressed with the level of service we have received.

Our original contact was very efficiently dealt with by a most helpful and friendly lady so the overall experience has been most pleasing ; we would be happy to recommend Sykes to any friends looking for a self-catering holiday.

Sunrise cottage was very good would certainly book again idea for a small young family.

having booked several cottages before where dealing with the owners direct was sometimes difficult and can cast a shadow over a family holiday the fact that this was booked through Sykes Cottages gave a little more confidence that things would go well

id like to tell you about our experience at SUNRISE COTTAGE.BEADNELL.23 TO 30TH JUNE.we were very surprised how small the cottage was .the kitchen was like a very small passage.the main bedroom was a tight squeez to walk around .the second bedroom was the smallest room in the bunglow. the bed mattresses in the bunk beds were bad you could feel every springs in them.thay were terrible i didnt have a good sleep at all.dont get me wrong the bunglow was clean.we just think the bungiow was not worth the money we paid.

The process of booking the cottage through Sykes Cottages was really quick and simple.

Sunrise Cottage had everything you could possibly need and was in the perfect place for exploring the area. Beautifully quiet and comfortable, I'll definitely be back!
