Shower room could have been cleaner.

The snug overall was good but a little attention needed to garden maintenance and mattress for me needs replacing

This is our second stay in The Snug and it was just as good as the first time.

We absolutely loved it! It was our anniversary, which made it extra special. Every conceivable thing has been thought of, includingthe lovelywelcome pack. The bed, bedding and furniture are of a very high standard, very comfy and well maintained. The sea, beaches, small village shop and chippy (open Friday, Saturday, Sunday) are all within a short stroll. There are other amenities (pub, bar and restaurants), but we didn't actually use them. The best kept secret in Northumberland. Ideally for wildlife watching or just relaxing. We'll definitely be back!

This was our 3rd stay at The Snug.

It is very well equipped with everything you need for a short stay and is extremely comfortable . The conservatory is a real bonus. The location is close to the centre of the village.

The cottage was nicely decorated, had most things you could need during a week away and we appreciated the welcome hamper.

Everyone has different preferences so you’re never going to please them all, but we thought the sofa in the living room and the bed were really uncomfortable. We found the sofa and armchair in the conservatory were a lot better for us, so quite often we chose to unwind there after days out exploring the wonderful Northumberland Coast. As a constructive suggestion to improve the property, it may also be worth considering finding a way to squeeze a washing machine in, although I appreciate space is very limited. Again personal preference but I’m not a great fan of leaving dirty clothes for a full week until arriving home. Beadnell itself has beautiful beaches, but could do with a bit more life injecting into it. With just the one village shop (open 9-5 most days and 9-4 on Sunday) and a relatively small selection of eating establishments, we found ourselves having to jump in the car in an evening to find food options more than we usually prefer to do while on holiday. I will say that the food in the Craster Arms and the Landing (both walking distance from the property) was excellent though. Seahouses and Bamburgh just up the coast have a lot more going on in this regard, so we’d likely choose to stay there for future visits to the area.

A lovely little place to stay.

It was immaculately clean, well maintained and thoughtfully equipped/furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a large cupboard left empty for food storage. The sofa and bed were both very comfortable, linens were lovely quality and the shower had decent pressure for an electric. The owner had left all the basics, like bin bags, toilet roll, washing up liquid, as well as a lovely hamper of treats for us and the dog. The conservatory was a sun trap in the morning and overlooks a lovely green area - it was great to see neighbours and families out using the space when the sun came out. The allocated parking is narrow as others have mentioned but perfectly usable even with a bigger car. Definitely deserves the 5 star rating.

The Snug is a great place for 2 people & their dog to stay.

It’s convenient for places to visit, the beach, shops, places to eat & drink. We were made to feel very welcome having been left a gorgeous hamper full of basics, treats for us & our dog. The accommodation was spotlessly clean. All equipment in the kitchen was in very good condition. The only problem we had was finding the Snug, there are several paths leading from the road to the green behind the bungalows which all lead you to your accommodation that faces the grassed area. Perhaps a strategically placed sign on the pathway leading to the nearest access would be helpful.

Fantastic very clean little property with everything you could possibly need.

We stayed in The Snug for Christmas week the bungalow was decorated which was lovely.

Besides a fabulous welcome hamper filled with various food & drinks the bungalow had most facilities for cleaning etc.I can imagine in the summer it would be a wonderful getaway as the conservatory would be wonderful to relax in. Enjoyed staying there very much.

This is a lovely property , nice & clean It has everything we needed for a lovely few days in a beautiful area.

My only comments to improve the comfort would be personally I think the sofa maybe getting ready for replacing, it’s a bit soft & we sunk into it. I am not sure why the kitchen has no extractor fan fitted, I would worry about the steam ruining the cupboards above (just my concern). Having said that we would happily stay again & would not hesitate to recommend to our family & friends

Although the place is a bit hard to find, once found it was lovely.

Well equipped, clean, cosy. It was a good place to base your holiday and not far from the sea for a stroll across the seafront at the end of the day. After a day of being out and about it was nice to go back to the peace and quiet of the place and recharge the batteries. I would highly recommend The Snug.

Beautiful 1 bedrooom bungalow very clean nicely furnished warm everything you need good position we were not keen on the car park our plot was against a wall under a tree not much room for getting in and out but we managed.

The position on the green was nice. Thank you to the owners very well cared for.

Very well equipped. I only marked it down slightly as the hot water at the kitchen sink was faulty. Not a problem as I boiled the kettle. Also the garden area needed a little TLC. Would happily book to stay again in the future. Happy memories with my dog. Thanks so much.

The Snug was fully equipped with everything you’d need for a stay in Beadnell.

It was spotlessly clean and had a nice outside space to enjoy the sun with a morning coffee There was even had a brolly to borrow for a rainy day. WiFi was very good and had a choice of entertainment channels and apps on TV. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch too. Would recommend and rebook if returning to Beadnell.

This was our second visit to The Snug.

The cottage was, as previously, immaculate and everything supplied for a home from home. Beadnell is a very friendly village and the restaurants serve great food all day. We especially enjoyed the fish and chips from the fish van. A great place to explore the surrounding villages.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Snug.

The bed and sofa are extremely comfortable. You get the sun first thing in the morning which was great to sit in whilst having a coffee. The garden is a perfect size for our pooch and for me to relax in a sun lounger. A nice welcome pack was also left for us, including milk. The beach, village shop, pub and weekend Fish & Chip van all in walking distance. We’re definitely going to book to return next year.

The snug is just perfect, it has got everything you need for 2 people.

Situated good for all amenities well placed to travel and on on a bus route. Fabulous conservatory quirky decor we spent most of our time in there when we weren't out and about. Spotless and clean and all good quality crockery everything you need in the kitchen. We will definitely be back thankyou.

A lovely comfortable cottage,handy for the eating places and also the village shop.

The conservatory is a real bonus. One suggestion which we would make would be a bigger occasional table in the living room which could also be used in the conservatory. Alan & Sandra

The property was lovely, ideally situated within the village and exquisitely furnished with some very nice touches.

The welcome pack was very much appreciated. The shower has obviously been repaired, and we found it great. Heating was somewhat difficult to comprehend, but as the weather was glorious, we didn't switch it on! On a personal note, and having recently recovered from major shoulder surgery I found the settee in the living room very uncomfortable but my wife liked it. We would certainly consider saying there again.

We loved this cottage with everything anyone could want for a holiday.

Beautifully decorated with a TV in the bedroom, a must for us. The conservatory overlooked the lovely garden. The area was absolutely brilliant, with the coast being a stone's throw away. We would ,without doubt love to return to the bungalow when possible.

This is the first time we have stayed in this cottage, it will also be the last.

The cottage itself is very clean and well maintained, however, the facilities are not what we would look for. The WiFi is not the best, at times non existent although that could well be a local reception problem, however, the shower is definitely not up to standard. It is an electric shower and I know these can be problematic but I would expect to be made aware of this on booking the cottage, and on reading past comments I see this is an historic problem. If I am paying £400+ for a week's stay I expect better than this, my wife perfected a step in step out routine to avoid the red hot ice cold stream, I'm afraid I won't be doing that. We have stayed in a sister cottage to this one, Swale cottage not a stone's throw away from this one and that is where we will go in future.

We enjoyed our stay at the Snug very much.

The welcome hamper and the Christmas tree and decorations were a very nice surprise. I have a mobility problem and found the cottage truly accessible. The outside step was a bit of a trial but I mastered it eventually. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return in the summer months. The location is perfect for touring around Northumberland.

We really had a great time at the snug,loved the conservatory, the furniture was so comfy, would definitely stay again, I am abit of a shower snob, but even the shower 4 electric, was good.

The only one down side was the sofa in living area not very comfortable. Thanks 4 welcome pack, spot on .

Lovely touch was a hamper on arrival with beverages, milk, biscuits & a packet of treats for the pooch. Great central location to explore the region & the property is within walking distance of 2 beach’s, 2 pubs & a fab fish & chip van at weekends. Would certainty use again and highly recommend.

Just spent a week in the Snug and was a really nice base in Beadnell.

It was nice and clean but feel could be made better, looking at the other bungalows especially the conservatory, instead of the pretty bits. The bed was comfy but I did have a reaction to either the bedding or the detergent so I itched all week. There is no gas in Beadnell so everything is electric so the shower has no power. Parking is a little tight next to the wall as we have a large car but you can park on the road.

The Snug proved to be the retreat we needed.

A lovely bungalow situated within a housing estate.

Ideally situated to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and warm, providing everything we needed for our stay. There was a welcome hamper too! Thank you very much.

The Wi Fi was very poor, the TV had only a few channels due to signal issues.

the phone could not connect to the WiFi if the IPad was connected. Only one piece of tech could be used. Thursday evening we lost even that, so no radio, no internet so no Netflix etc. we are due back in September so hopefully things will be fixed, the Snug itself is lovely.

the sofa was uncomfortable and the parking space quite a squeeze to get in as it was at the end next to a wall and tree overhanging

A very nice cottage well furnished and equipped.

We particularly liked the instant hot water. The conservatory was a real bonus.We would have preferred a table rather than the breakfast bar but other than that everything was fine.

Minimal facilities, north facing - poor heating and intermittent wi-fi service.

Beware of not deep cleaning the property on leaving as you will incur additional cleaning charges. I had to pay an extra £110 for minor wine stains to sheets which would have eased out. I was charged for a set of wine glasses for breaking one.

Very comfortable. Parking was a little tight especially with the trees hanging over but otherwise beautiful in Beadnell so close to the beach.

A lovely bungalow in a quiet area, great access to the beach at Beadnell and the local village amenities, Susan met us when we arrived and gave us a few pointers on local places to visit and eat.

The perfect base for exploring the Northumberland Coast, we spent a week here and loved every minute of it. Would definitely recommend!

Great week here had a great time only issue was the building work next door and the leak in conservatory roof witch was looked into by the owners but didn’t spoil our week will be back soon

We were very pleased with the Cottage the hardest part was finding it because of the way the estate is numbered , I think that a grab rail in the shower is needed for my age, the cleanliness , comfort and the welcome pack were outstanding, the Cottage is ideally situated for touring the beach and places to eat are close by ,we will be back with our collie Frankie again.

Very well located, equipped and clean property, everything worked.

When we were there in mid June it was in a very quiet area. Good place to be based for exploring the delights of the Northumberland coast. The entrance to number 74 is down the path by the LAMPPOST on the left after you have gone around the corner into Longstone Park. The allocated parking bay is in the parking area which is a few yards further on, also on the left.

It's a fabulous small property in a lovely little village.

We've been staying in Beadnell once or twice a year in similar properties for almost 10 years now and this one is the best so far. Only criticism is the WiFi in the property barely works. There's little phone signal either (ee) unless you stand in the garden. Overall though, an amazing little property with way more space than you'd expect looking in and in a perfect place for a relaxing holiday and a base to explore the area.

Immaculate, clean, warm and in a perfect location.

Directions to property are incorrect. This is not a detached property. The bed needs a topper on it. The sofa in the lounge is not as shown in photographs and is now a Chesterfield settee which we found uncomfortable. It has been refurbished to a high standard and is fully equipped with everything you could need. The WiFi is weak and was in and out. There is only a back door which has 2 steps which may not suit people with mobility issues. The welcome hamper, flowers and dog treats were much appreciated. A mixed review but more good points overall.

Lovely property with everything you need.

Enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory after a day out walking. Bed really comfortable and in our opinion, not hard as mentioned in another review. Our only quibble was the WiFi. Not very reliable but I came to realise this was a general issue in the area, not just at The Snug. We did struggle to find the property at first as it is behind other bungalows and not visible from the road, so instructions sent from Sykes need to be a little clearer. A great week’s stay and we will definitely be back.

We originally struggled to find the property and the designated parking bay. Clearer instructions would have been helpful. A local resident helped us to find it. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. A recycling bin would have been helpful inside the property.

Gorgeous interiors which have been really well thought out. Great base to explore local beauty spots and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Peaceful and quiet area and a handy green area to take the dogs out before bed. Enclosed courtyard offers peace of mind for dog owners. Will definitely be back one day.

Rotten weather which was no fault of the holiday cottage owner but meant that I spent more time indoors than usual.

The laminate floor could do with having a rug in the sitting area, apart from that it was all good quality and warm. Nice to have Netflix. Lovely welcome hamper and fresh flowers. I am sure the conservatory will be a bonus in better weather conditions.

The Snug was lovely and clean, very modern and had everything we required for our stay.

Great location, not far from the beach with 2 good pubs within walking distance. Internet was bad but this could be down to location.The only downside was the comfort of the bed. Myself and my wife did not have a good night's sleep during our stay as the mattress was uncomfortable and you could feel the wrought iron bed frame. Due to this we would not book again.

Simply AMAZING !

! Truly restful - I booked this for Hubby and I but sadly he passed in January this year. I had moved date twice and sincere thanks to the owners for this. A friend came with me and it was as Sweet as it COULD BE x Everything you need. Internet not too good but this poss an AREA problem. Cottage has everything needed - PERFECT is the WORD !! Thanks indeed!

A tastefully decorated comfortable little cottage with everything we would need for our stay.

Very peaceful area which was ideal for us as we stayed over the bonfire night weekend with our dog. A nice touch was the welcome hamper with wine, chocolates, biscuits, crisps, tea, coffee & milk, together with some doggie treats for our girl. Heating was by the way of electric radiators, with also a log effect fire & all were really easy to use, they warmed up the space really quickly. Only small issue we had was the internet connection dropped in & out frequently so we couldn’t do any proper searching for places to visit while there. There’s a couple of pubs a short walk from the cottage, The Craster Arms, which was quite full on Friday evening with the locals, not ideal if you’re wanting a quiet drink, it would probably be ok during the week though. There’s also the Beadnell towers Hotel, both serve food daily. All in all it was a lovely place to stay,

Perfect cottage everything in place for your break away, designated parking space less than a minutes walk away from cottage.

Lovely touch with welcome hampers for us and our dog. Perfect base for travelling to local places of interest, 5 minute walk to beaches for the dog who loved the beaches at Beadnell and surrounding areas. Would recommend the local pubs for meals especially the local Alnwick steak pie! Advise to book a table can get busy in either of the pubs in village. Would visit the Snug again, thank you for sharing the cottage.

Nice location close to the beach

The Snug is very comfortable and well-placed to explore the Northumberland coast.

The outside space is lovely and, as we had great weather, we were able to put it to good use. The welcome hamper was very generous and much appreciated - including the hamper for our dog. We would thoroughly recommend The Snug and hope to return in the future.

Very clean, well equipped and the hamper, flowers and chocolates were very much appreciated. Good outside space with lots of seating. Took a few minutes to find where we were supposed to park and find the property but no problem. Fabulous location for the beach just a few minutes walk away. Great places to eat in the village. Very quiet and peaceful location for a great stay. Definitely recommend staying at The Snug.

Property is finished to a high specification, nice patio area and close to local amenities.

The Snug was excellent and we would be happy to use it again.

The only improvements I could suggest is to state in the description that the car park is away from the cottage and that the cottage cannot be seen from the road. Other than that we were very impressed by the quality of the fixtures and fittings in the cottage and the lovely welcome pack provided both for us and the dog. I would also like to thank the owners for ringing me to tell me that I had left a couple of things behind.

Brilliant quality accommodation with everything provided that we could have required. Very comfortable conservatory in which we chilled out and rested after all the long walks. We have no negatives at all and have already recommended it to our friends and will look to rebook in 2023.

The Snug is a beautifully clean, nicely decorated and well equipped cottage, ideal for a couple with a dog.

The little sun-lounge is very cozy and gets the morning sun; an excellent addition to the property. The hamper, flowers and chocolates made our holiday special from the moment we arrived; even our dog was thought of with his own doggy hamper. We felt it was unfortunate that there was no extractor fan above the cooker as the smoke alarm went off when we used the grill. It’s advisable to open the kitchen window before cooking. Beadnell is the ideal location for exploring the Northumberland coast. We enjoyed an early morning walk from the property every day of our stay; it was wonderful! Many thanks.

An absolutely fabulous property in a stunning location.

The snug was immaculate and some really lovely special touches such as the chocolates on the bed and the hamper of goodies especially the lovely bottle of wine that I really enjoyed. Even though it’s a long way to come we’d definitely come back again as it was really special and is my favourite part of the country. Has also encouraged me to possibly buy a used static caravan to use for our holidays and maybe eventually retire to. Many thanks!!!

It's very cosy and beautifully decorated, there was a lovely hamper waiting for us such a nice touch. It's got to be the most relaxing wonderful Christmas we have had. Myself, the wife & dog just spent a great week in the snug, a spotless cottage with everything you need.

The welcome hamper which included tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes, wine & other extras is the best by far & was greatly appreciated. The snug is in a great location, only a 5 min walk to the beach which is fantastic for the early morning strolls with the dog. Beadnell has 2 pubs & a small village shop for all your immediate needs. Seahouses is only a couple of miles up the road and is a great day out, it also has a co-op if you need any more essentials. A really relaxing break was had and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the snug.

Loved the cottage as soon as we went in, beautifully furnished and an amazing hamper for us and our dog, love the beaches and walks around the area, the only thing was that the same week next year is £250 more so not sure we will be back witch is a shame, I know prices increase but think this is a lot for a week in September.

This property is in an ideal place for a beach and touring holiday around Northumberland.

It is in a quiet area so good for sleeping after a hard day walking or touring. We didn’t have a dog but I believe one dog is acceptable in this property. The Snug is decorated to a very high standard. We would be happy to stay at the Snug again if we visit the area again.

the Snug was very comfortable and nice and clean and modern the towel rail heater in the bathroom didn't come on all week and the weather was rainy and wet so we couldn't dry our bath towels

For anyone who has not been to Northumberland . it really is an unknown gem , and within approx 10 minute walk of the property one it’s loveliest bays - beadnell bay & harbour .

Lovely little bungalow with conservatory, great location for other towns/villages to visit, welcome pack was great even had one for my dog, well informed of details before arrival, only two suggestions, need a blind in bedroom, and probably a table and chairs in lounge, for board games etc, as breakfast bar was not sufficient, although this was not a problem for us, as we organised other alternative,would definitely recommend this property and hope to return soon.

The cottage was what we expected and more.

The bedroom has very little room at the sides of the bed and would be difficult if you had any mobility problems.

The car parking space is not next to the cottage but is on a residents car park 25 metres away. Beadnell no longer has a fish and chip shop but does have a reasonably stocked shop. Having read trip advisor about the Caster arms pub restaurant which had several negative reports we decided to try it out. We found the opposite it had a very good system to cope with covid19 we could see no reason to criticise the management. Beadnell bay is ideal for walking and for children the dog recommends the ice cream van at the harbour which he visited almost every day.

The texts from the owner before and after our stay were both welcoming and informative.

The welcome pack left for us was also a very kind gesture.

Beautiful holiday let.

Very tastefully done with homely touches everywhere. Everything you could possibly want - home from home - even cling film and kitchen foil in the drawers. A lot of things we took such as kitchen roll were already there. Beautiful hamper for ourselves and one for Willow our dog to welcome us. Very clean - even masks, gloves and sanitiser for us. Loved the conservatory to look out onto the green - a bonus as well when the weather was bad. Would highly recommend and would use again!

It was exactly as we had expected and more.

We had a welcome hamper on arrival and so did our cocker spaniel jack. Really appreciated. It was jack's first holiday and he loved the garden and grass in front of the bungalow as well as all the walks to lovely beaches - all within easy distance. Great area to visit. The furnishings within the bungalow were great and it was very well equipped. Obviously the owner has taken pride in ensuring great presentation and attention to detail. Due to the covid19 lockdown we were apprehensive about the holiday despite lockdown being eased allowing us to go but we were happy with all the extras measures made by the owners and sykes cottages that had been enforced as regards - cleaning, contact and there was plenty of antibacterial soaps etc. I had also taken my own. Masks had also been left for us. We felt safe and the local pub and restaurant were well organised. It was just the break we needed as my husband is a keyworker and has worked right through the pandemic and was ready for some time out. Bamburgh, Warkworth and Amble are all lovely places and nice beach walks. If you wanted to visit castles etc it was all pre booked online and times given to ensure social distancing but having a dog we had decided we didn't need to visit cadtles or shops etc. It was all about Jack this time. Seahouses and Lower Newton were recommended as being lovely places to visit but they seemed too busy for us as we arrived so maybe another time as we will be back. Great holiday.

Lovely walks to beach and great pubs with very tasty food. The snug was very cosy we loved relaxing in the conservatory the only thing we found was too many air fresheners become very overpowering in a small cottage.

The food hamper left for us by the owner was the most generous of all the cottages we have experienced with you.

Excellent location re. the beach and local facilities. Wonderful weeks stay.

My wife and I took a last minute 4 night break with Harry our Golden Retriever and chose ‘The Snug’.

We were not disappointed. We like cooking in and found there was every utensil and more that we required as well as all the food wraps etc. There was also a lovely welcome hamper for us and for Harry which we all thank you for.

A lovely place to stay in a great location.

I can’t fault the description of the cottage as it was spot on and is ideal for a couple. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. It’s in an ideal location for lovely beaches, coastal walks and handy enough to travel a bit further afield by car if you wish. If you don’t want to walk or take car there is an option of using the local bus service. We were there for 7 nights and used a mix of walking and bus to get to and from Seahouses, not too far to drive either to get across to Holy Island. The local pubs had great food and a shop minutes away for essentials.
