Waters Edge Beadnell (Harbour Road)

Third year we have stayed here.

The owners really take good care of the property and provide a lovely welcoming pack. The property is located right on the coast affording wonderful views. Located in Beadnell, its ideal for exploring the coast, with local walks both north and south. The village has some great pubs and cafes if you want to stay local. Some good local golf courses as well. The property is very comfortable with all the mod coms, and provides a wonderful relaxed holiday.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful holiday home.

The house is absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable, with fantastic facilities and everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. Everything had been thought of with comfy beds and good showers. The location is fabulous, with wonderful views and a peaceful setting, while still being ideally placed for exploring the surrounding area. We had morning coffee everyday looking out towards the Farne Islands. Every detail has clearly been thought through, making the property feel both luxurious and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this beautiful home. We would love to return! Our only regret is we didn’t book for longer!

Spent two nights at Waters Edge for our 50th birthday celebrations.

We couldn’t fault the house it is beautiful and actually nicer than the photos. We loved the goodies on the table on arrival and the owners text us to check everything was ok. We had the best time and would definitely return.

This place is a lovely holiday home for a larger family holiday.

The position is excellent with beautiful views out to sea. Our weather did not encourage use of the balcony but it is still great to open the sliding doors, opening up the inside. The host is incredibly welcoming and helpful. The kitchen is better equipped than most holiday lets enabling catering for 10. Also washing machine works well. New cafe has opened across the road next to beach which is great! Fish and chips from van on F/S/S also great and available. Bedrooms are really nice and beds comfortable. Good parking. Lovely walks and beaches from the door. Beadnell bay itself 0.6 mile walk. The cost is high which makes you think very hard about booking this property. We have and have booked again. Our family and grandchildren love it.

Waters Edge is in a fabulous location, very close to the beach, and the upstairs living area makes the best of the views.

The house is beautiful with great views of the sea. Everyone felt they had their own space in addition to the large airy living area. The house is in a convenient location with easy walks to the beach, pubs, shop etc. It is very well equipped and maintained. Would thoroughly recommend it. We have treasured memories from our stay.

Lovely house.

Stocked really well for our multi generational party. Loved the 'upsidedown' set up , giving us a lovely view out to sea. Had everything we needed and was well positioned for activities. Only slight problem was the noise of the dining chairs on the bare floor, leading to a problem if you were in the bedroom below, Perhaps a rug? Or some rubber stoppers on the chair feet. Otherwise, brilliant.

We absolutely loved our weeks stay at the Waters Edge property, it is ideally situated , the owners have been very thoughtful in all aspects of what is needed .

The kitchen is very well equiped, the seating both in and out is very comfortable, and easily accommodates a full house. The binoculars came in very useful too. Would highly recomend a visit here.

Spent a wonderful weekend at Waters Edge for big family celebrations.

The accommodation was ideal/comfortable for the 3 families & 3 children. Lots of space, the children loved having their own TV space in the inner hall. There was everything we needed. Even managed to go sea glass searching on the beach across the road. It was also ideally situated to wonderful beaches, Bamburgh & even Lindisfarne.

Party of 8 adults 2 children, baby and dogs for surprise 70th for my Mum on arrival breathtaking welcome pack amazing everything spotless very comfy beds and pillows living area upstairs and bedrooms down plenty of quiet areas if you needed to escape.

The view from the upstairs living room with fold back doors was absolutely stunning sat looking out to sea with a beautiful decked area and luxury seating what more could you ask. Kitchen had every utensil needed for a large family and games for the kids, this home has some very beautiful furnishing's that add luxury to the home, also provided are dog beds and dog bowls nice touch as well as a cot and high chair for the baby, just across the road is a shop which sells all your basic needs at reasonable prices and a beach which is ideal for the dogs as well as a nearby dog walking area full of wildlife. The Craster arms just a few minutes walk away serves delicious food. Walkers in to sea houses for a boat trip to the farne isles with billy sheilds family run boats £20 each kids and dogs free and almost 2 hours at sea excellent value for money. Great bus route if you should need it. Large Co-op in seahouses if you need bigger shop. The cottage inn near Craster serves amazing food at very reasonable prices and drinks cheaper as well in comparison to other pubs which can be on the dearer side. The Indian and Chinese in seahouses both serve excellent food we had take always from both. Bamburgh is definitely worth a visit especially the castle and the stunning beaches and a stroll up the Main Street with lovely shops takes you to a walled garden with restaurant and kids play area toilets etc. Craster itself is nice with a lovely cliff top walk overlooking the sea towards Craster Castle. Almouth also very beautiful Overall we rate this home very highly and would return as it suited our family arrangements perfectly, Thank you for a beautiful stay and us making more family memories see you again soon.Rebecca.

Waters Edge - Beadnell We had a fabulous time at Waters Edge over the New Year period.

The home was more than adequate for all ( 6 adults and 3 children) our needs. The decor is so tasteful and welcoming containing everything we needed for a fantastic stay. The ‘welcome pack’ provided by Sam was superb. The Christmas trees and lights in the house certainly extended our festive season. Location of the house with its (very) splendid sea views made it difficult to leave to go exploring. Taking the opportunity, we visited Bamburgh, Seahouses, Craster and Low Newton. Not forgetting, taking in the nearby pubs with a special mention to ‘The Landings’ at Beadnell beach, a short walking distance from the house. Walking the fabulous Northumberland beaches is a dream not to be missed, even in the biting north wind in early January. Finally, some of our family members took part in the annual New Year’s Day Beadnell fun run, supporting the RNLI which is not to be missed. All in all, we made so many memories and had a wonderful stay and certainly recommend a stay at Waters Edge.

Just had the best week at Waters Edge celebrating my 50th.

Perfect location facing the sea and walking distance to the two pubs. Place was immaculate upon arrival and the welcome hamper was an extra special touch.

One of our daughters and family have been holidaying in the area for years.

When the opportunity for the family, all ten of us to have a few days together having heard all about the area we jumped at the chance. The house is fantastic and the accommodation is excellent and very well configured. We enjoyed the beaches, long walks and a very good village shop. Many thanks to the owner for the hospitality.

Stunning sea views, perfectly located for the local amenities, restaurants and sea front. Friendly, helpful hosts and a perfect place to celebrate a 60th birthday with family! The decor was stunning, the house was exceptionally clean when we arrived and we had a beautiful welcome hamper left for us.

Everything you need or want for a holiday is right there either in the house or on your doorstep. Great communication with arriving and departing being made very easy. House was lovely and clean with everything we would need for us and our dogs. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay.

This is our second stay and have booked again for next year. The property is very well cared for with lots of good touches. Beds are very comfortable. Property was clean on arrival with an excellent welcome pack. My parents who arrived first met the owner who welcomed them. The location is excellent. Beadnell is a lovely village on the Northumbria coast with a couple of good pubs as well as good local cafes. Good food and drink on offer at all. Location is excellent for walking along the coastal footpaths to Seahouses, Bamburgh and Newton on Sea. Would highly recommend for a great family holiday.

This is an expensive holiday let but it was easily the best we have had in 5 years of coming to Beadnell, as was the welcome hamper.

It was perfect for the family week including three separate families who stayed (6 adults and 3 children). The upside down layout gives a very special living area but there are also other areas for children and adults to chill. The position is superb with a small beach opposite and great views. Half a mile to the main beach so with small children a beach trolley is a boon. Just a fantastic week and we hope to return. Cycle storage at the back if you need it. The owner could not have been more helpful.

Problem with the dishwasher but fixed extremely quickly.

A very good celebratory (Golden Wedding) family holiday made all the better by the excellent accommodation.

Everybody enjoyed the facilities and the location especially its proximity to the beach and other visitor sites. It was well worth the long journey.

Had a great family holiday and the accommodation was excellent.

Only because I have been asked for comments am I including what probably seems insignificant observations. The fridge and freezer capacity is FAR too small for 10 people, the washer/dryer had no instructions (what there was was for a different machine) The useful washing line outside was too close to the bamboo hedge and wall and anything large hung there got blown into them a clothes pole would probably have helped.

Waters Edge was the perfect house for a family get-together.

It is very well equipped with everything you would require. The large living space was ideal for everyone to be together without being cramped and the terrace is a lovely place to sit and watch the sea. It's also in a great location within Beadnell: two minutes from a small bay where you can swim and potter around in rock pools: two minutes from the well-stocked shop: 2 minutes from a very good fish & chip van: five minutes from the pub/restaurant. The property is in a great location in the village, with brilliant views from the living room and balcony.

Stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean, with a well equipped kitchen which helped to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. We have visited Beadnell regularly and this is one of the best properties we have stayed in, we will definitely be back.

The property is well appointed & had all that was required for a self-catering holiday, although there are plenty of places to eat out in the surrounding area. The owner was very helpful & attentive. Wonderful stay.

You have thought of everything.This is a beautiful house in a stunning location. We were here two years ago and everyone in our three generational group was keen to come back. Our only slight criticism is that the outside cushions had dog hairs on them and this did affect one of our party.Perhaps a note to ask dog owners not to let them sit on the cushions.

A fantastic property, great view and easy access to the beach.

Good facilities and spotless.

This was even better than we had hoped for!

We stayed over new year for a week. Family consists of a baby 5 x 15-31 year olds and 4 x 42-56 year olds. So all ages. The seating in the living room is better than in the photos there are now 3 large settees so everyone had a seat. Lovely touches were, our welcome pack not just butter jam and bread but wine, chocolates and mince pies too. The Christmas decs inc tree was still up so have a lovely festive atmosphere. The house decor and overall design is stunning! Lighting, mirrors and sockets plentiful and where they should be! The tv was big enough in living room, it had Netflix too! There was a a radio, binoculars, a telescope, games. Literally everything you could need. The view from the large balcony was superb wether the weather was nice and bright and also when it was raining/snowing with a real log fire adding to the cosy ambience as we watched the waves rolling in. Position is great plenty parking we actually had 4 cars. 2 pubs in the village not even 10 minute walk and another called the landings which we lived 10 minutes the other way right next to the entrance to the gorgeous Beadnell beach. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this again and we have all said we would love to return.

Also, receiving a welcome text from Sam the owner, was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. The house is furnished beautifully and is equipped with everything that you could possibly need during your stay, even down to bin bags, which have been lacking in some other properties that we have used in the past. I also have to mention the area which is just beautiful, the beaches nearby are a real treat.

LOVED this house.

So beautiful with fantastic interior. Didn’t want to leave! Slept 10 of us very comfortably. Just a couple of minutes walk to the center of Beadnell. Didn’t get a chance to go to the beach due to a big storm but it was literally opposite the house. During the storm we got cozy & put the wood fire on. The storm caused a couple of minor issues but the owner had someone over in minutes to sort them out. I will definitely re-book. My friends that were there said they would book. Can’t recommend this home enough!

Very comfortable for ten people - plenty of space.

From Granny (78) to dogs (7) and all in between, we absolutely loved our time at the house.

The time spent on the viewing deck to the sea was always fantastic (seeing dolphins was a highlight!). The house was perfect in both location and the facilities provided, so good we’ve booked for next year already! We’ve been visiting the area for number of years and stayed in various houses and we all agreed that Waters Edge was the favourite!!

Excellent property with brilliant views of the sea.

Saw some beautiful sunrises. Property is in a good location with several cafes and pubs in the village, all a couple of minutes away. Located on the coastal pathway, so good walks in either direction. The property itself is well furnished, it was warm and clean. The beds are comfortable, though my adult son was in one of the bunk beds and could have done with a firmer mattress (it is fine for kids). The house is upside down but this means you get fantastic views from where you sit. All the mod cons in the kitchen but could have done with a BBQ in the garden. The binoculars were handy though sadly couldn't get the telescope to work, would be handy to have instructions but suspect something is missing. The whole family (extended) enjoyed this property, and we have booked again for next year. Would highly recommend.

This 'cottage' is EXACTLY as it appears on the photographs - stylishly but comfortably presented.

Numerous thoughtful finishing touches such as the much appreciated welcome pack on arrival to the telescope for making the most of the stunning views from the upstairs decking all help to add to an enjoyable stay. Three generations of my family spent a terrific time in this beautiful area of the country. For the younger members it was their first visit to Northumberland but doubtless they will return. The 2 dogs who accompanied us also had the time of their lives!

Hi, As per my visits to your Seahouses office and direct feedback to Mike & Joanne of your maintenance team, I have attached photographic evidence to support our complaint.

Details as follows: -dead moths left on blind in back double bedroom - dangerous black mould in en-suite bathroom of front double bedroom, on ceiling,cornice and shelves -badly stained toilet seat in same en-suite -musty/damp smell throughout ground floor -all showers hot water temperature was tepid - due 3 of party being asthmatic, 1 also pregnant and asthmatic, front bedroom rendered uninhabitable due asthmatic symptoms experienced from black mould and dampness. - we had to swap rooms, wash and change bed linen and 2 of the party departed after 3 nights due this double bedroom being uninhabitable. I would very much appreciate a reasonable monetary refund to compensate for both our inconvenience and also to allow us to refund 2 of our party for the 4 nights they lost. Overall, our stay was pleasant and we have not been put off using either your company or returning once again to our childhood family retreat of Beadnell

We really enjoyed our holiday, if I was nit picking the only thing that was awkward was the shower I had a broken foot & no shower mat or hand fixture , I had to use a hand towel.

The other thing was the heating tried to be economical, sorry I had problem with thermostat. But as I say it is just for your benefit I have these two complaints . But a beautiful house we were all happy thank you.

Stayed here for long weekend without heating or hot water, reported and complaints were not dealt with not has compensation.

House was not as described, insects in cupboard, dish washed not working, tv not working and worst of all ignored during stay by management company and then ignored when refund has been requested by Sykes cottages. Very very poor management.

The property was beautiful.

They had thought of everything.It was comfortable,clean and in a wonderful position.We were a three generation family and we all had a fantastic holiday.

The house was lovely.

The fridge didn't work though, and there was no obvious way to report it. Northumbria made no contact at all since the initial booking. It's like they take the money and put nothing into customer service. The house was absolutely beautiful though.

What a fabulous home.

We used this property for a family get together and it was just what we were looking for. Everything we could possibly need was provided including a welcome hamper. The decor was very modern, stylish and with no expense spared. It is situated just a short walk from the beach and all the local villages are accessible. We will definitely use this property again.

A beautiful and luxurious property with lovely accessories and great views.

The beach is a minutes walk away. The shop is a minutes walk away and the pub five minutes walk. One of the best holidays we have ever had. So many lovely walks and a short drive to seahouses and Bamburgh.

Waters Edge is a beautiful house in an excellent setting, with amazing interior design and is clearly loved by the owner, it soon felt like home.

The location of the property is outstanding, commanding incredible views.

It is very well appointed and all the children loved the 2 sets of stairs and the nooks and crannies to play hide and seek. A perfect home from home. Comfortable, warm and delightful in every aspect.

Waters Edge is a really lovely property.

We visited in late November when the weather was unkind, but the house was very warm and cosy throughout. Great views from the lounge looking out to sea. House was very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Perfectly positioned to access village amenities and a short walk to the magnificent beach. We would definitely book this property again and would certainly recommend.

Beautifully presented and ideal for a group of 10.

Spacious modern accommodation , with the layout making the most of the magnificent view over the sea.

The cottage is situated in an excellent position facing the sea with an ever changing view visible from the upstairs lounge, kitchen and large decked balcony area.

There is plenty room for up to 10 people. The bedrooms are as beautifully furnished as the rest of the cottage and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. The log burner was perfect for the colder weather though the whole cottage was warm and cosy. Our group of friends enjoyed the time we spent and will definitely come back.
