“We enjoyed our stay, the lounge was comfy with a great view and it was very clean.”
However our stay was spoiled because of the double bed. Firstly, it should have been a king size, to cater for all heights of people, but mainly it was the poor fitting mattress, which was very shallow and worn. Plus the wooden edges of the bed meant that this dug into my legs as I got in and out. I noticed another holidaymaker commented on this as well. The owners may well be perfectly happy with their bed, but they have to think of the people renting. The cost of our break is not a cheap option any more and a proper bed is essential. ( All hotels now have a KS platform bed with no hard edges and a padded headboard-this would also give more room at the bottom of the bed)
Complaining during the stay would have been futile, so I have to do it here.
Otherwise we loved the cottage. We sat outside and the garden furniture was much appreciated as was the well equipped if small kitchen. Everything worked which we used and the decor was lovely.
We stay in holiday lets about 4 times a year and have done for 30 years and we know that the standard has greatly improved, but we cannot not mention the bed-sorry.
