Alwinton Lodge

We had a lovely stay at Alwinton Lodge.

It was very clean and had everything you could want for your stay here. It's very quiet and peaceful. Very comfy bed and very good shower. Beautiful beaches nearby. Would recommend.

Very comfortable accommodation, especially the bed!

Good quality soft furnishings and bedding. Every conceivable piece of kitchen equipment (except maybe a splatter guard for frying pan). Good, hot shower. Plenty of outside space and parking. Definitely would recommend

First time my wife and I (in our 60's) had decided to tour the North East.

We fancied self catering accommodation and after extensive online research we settled on Alwinton Lodge primarily for location. We were not disappointed. The location was idyllic and we thoroughly enjoyed having our breakfast and evening meal on the patio area and the lodge had everything to be able to do so. It was literally a home from home, there were some books and board games as well as a selection of DVD's and the lodge was more than spacious enough for the two of us. Both village pubs were friendly and welcoming, a 15-20 minute walk away. We cannot rate this property highly enough, it exceeded our expectations and some.

Wonderful welcome from the start.

Beautifully clean and decor tastefully decorrated and coordinated colours in rooms. Bed extremely comfey, power shower brilliant cannot fault the cabin at all. Cannot wait to go back next year. Thank you for a great relaxing stay

Lovely spotlessly clean log cabin that was not felt overlooked due to the planning when this site was established .

Nice view over fields and hills from the outside seating area . The welcome pack was very much appreciated and the arrangement for where to put used bedding and towels was an excellent idea . 3

Very good location Fram Lodge Park - quiet and peaceful Alwinton Lodge - comfortable - Good to be able to sit out under cover of an evening and see the lovely view and watch the weather - lots of storms and rain for us We felt we had a good break

The location is perfect for travelling around Northumberland.

The lodges are well spaced out & you don’t feel overlooked, with lovely views from all windows. It is homely and comfortable with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The bed is comfortable & the shower wonderful. The town has 2 pubs, a bakery & local shop. We saw a hare, bats & a weasel, a wow moment. Would definitely recommend this property.

Thought lodge was a bit dated , fridge was very small and the shelves were missing from the door which made the fridge smaller .

The view was poor as an old farm building which was run down spoilt it .

Quiet location but central to many attractions (Alnwick Amble Bamburgh Seahouses etc) Comfortable well equipped cabin with lovely welcome package including fresh flowers tea coffee milk etc Owner (Matt) easy to contact with any queries Would definitely stay there again

So Peaceful, the lodge was home from home with everything you needed, no wifi, but good 4G.

I would recommend the Granby pub in the village, great choice of fresh cooked meals.

Loved our stay .

Clean, warm and comfortable cabin with all we needed. Even the dog was catered for. Very quiet site and small. Just one negative which wasn’t an issue was the electric fire didn’t work but certainly wasn’t needed!

This is the 3rd time we have visited Alwinton which in itself gives our feedback .

it’s very clean and exceptionally well equipped . The village has everything you need. The Running Fox bakery , the corner shop and butchers are I understand award winning. There is a restaurant and the Pub. If you’re visiting the beautiful coastal areas go via Alnwick and the back roads are a wee bit messy .

Overall, a Great lodge.

We arrived in Jan and it was icy - more gritting would have help us remain steady under foot while loading / unloading, but helpfully the owners had cleared some ice and warned us in advance. Very comfortable inside, with ample hot water and a good shower. Clean. Well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the quiet during our stay. While the lodges are well placed so as not to overlook each other, they might feel less private in peak periods.

Fantastic cabin, with everything you would need for a short break.

The cabin was spacious, with a comfortable bed, fabulous shower and well equipped kitchen, including a full size oven and hob. The cabin was nicely decorated and very cozy, with beautiful surroundings-very peaceful and relaxing....we could not have asked for more.

We had such a wonderful stay in the lodge, we weren’t expecting all the extra add ons such as biscuits and milk on arrival or the well stocked books and games.

We even had a mini Christmas tree! Overall we couldn’t fault the accommodation it was perfect and very clean. Great location and the site was so peaceful and quiet.

Home from home accommodation, spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed and everything you need is there for you and even your pets.

Excellent lodge within beautiful countryside with breathtaking views .

Lodge had everything we needed with added touch of some essentials on arrival including doggie essentials too. 15 minute walk into village where theres a excellent pub for drinks and meals also a shop and bakery/cafe . Definitely will be returning in the future.

A charming and comfortable log cabin with excellent facilities, in a quiet and picturesque setting with wonderful dark skies.

. Clean and well equipped and with charming neighbours - a herd of sheep and a small black pig. I'm sure we will return.

Absolutely loved the stay at Alwinton lodge very peaceful and quiet lots of activities around the area the only downside was no WiFi and though they had films to watch there was no facility to watch them with as DVD player was scart cable and tv was HDMI but apart from that everything was great the lodge well supplied even down to the dogs being catered for many thanks to the owners for sharing their lodge will stay again

Hi , this being the summer could not turn the shower down to a cooler temperature.

The T.V pixilates badly on most Chanel’s. The sat nav sends you to the wrong lane . Apart from that the stay was superb , thank you .

Another fantastic stay at the lodge - so comfy, very peaceful, so clean, everything you need for a week or short stay - close to all the local attractions - have rebooked again for our 4th year - highly recommend

Loved this cosy little cabin,everything we needed for our stay,and within a short distance to beaches and other popular sites,we had our two cockerpoos with us and blankets,treats etc were available which was a nice touch.

The surrounding area is lovely and as we had never been before we will definitely be coming again, thank you.

Good position for beach and forest walks. We also explored the hill forts in the coquet valley which are quiet close. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Loved this cabin in the quiet area of Northumberland.

As Tynesiders we didn’t come far but was lovely to get out of the city. Our cabin was next to the farm near the sheep, chickens, cockerel and pigs (which sometimes can be noisy at night

Property was perfect, very comfortable and clean and tidy!

The property had been updated to a high standard!

It was not for me or my wife it was out in the sticks I called the people up on boxing day saying we are packing up three days early so they made 3 days out of us my dog court some sort of bug I had to take him to the vet which cost me money so that's why we're not going back

We had a great stay in this lodge, very clean, comfortable and well equipped, more than enough space for us two, could not believe how well insulated it was, hardly needed the heating at all even in October.

Great location for visiting Northumberland countryside & coastline. We had glorious weather, it was lovely to come back to such a comfy holiday home. The cabin had everything we could need, the village of Longframlington had a great shop for any extras and a great cafe for some holiday treats. We would highly recommend Alwinton Lodge and would definitely return. The extra welcome goodies were a lovely & much appreciated touch. Thank you

This was our second visit and we’ll definitely visit again in the future.

The bathroom would be improved with the addition of grab rails in the shower and beside the toilet.

The bed though comfortable was rather small..

A lovely, cosy, well maintained log cabin in a quiet backwater.

The bed is very comfortable, as is the living accommodation, we couldn't fault it.

We love Alwinton cabin as it has all you could ask for a relaxing break away.

Well situated to access all attractions the Northumbrian coast line has to offer and some great beaches for the dog. Our favourites are Almouth, Warkworth and Banburgh. The village pub has fabulous food if you don’t fancy cooking. We’ll certainly be back.

Overlooking a field with sheep and chickens , very clean and comfortable .

Shower and bed are important parts of a stay and they didn’t disappoint, comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot . The all round cleanliness was of a high standard and we found it great for our dog .

Myself and husband and our two dogs Lottie and Roxy stayed here for a two day break and was not disappointed we loved it so much we are looking to book again we would give it 5*.

Absolutely fantastic stay here ,great attention to detail right down to a pint of milk in the fridge for you on arrival, the farm next door with viewing from front room had baby lambs running around cute as anything.

Will be looking again to stay here.

Excellent log cabin on a lovely, quiet site of only around 15 cabins.

Everything is spotlessly clean, down to the last teaspoon. Home from home comfort. This was our second visit and it won’t be our last.

We had a very restful weekend.

It is a most relaxing break, Both the site and the cabin were excellent, and if we wish to visit that area again, we will certainly stay there again.

This was our 3rd stay at Alwinton and it never disappoints.

It’s a great location with many amenities and great places to visit. Our dog loves all the local beaches and a meal in the village pub and lunch at the Running Fox is a must.

We had a lovely lodge and very quiet so peaceful just what we needed.

Such a nice a wonderful lodge ,loved the shower and the so comfy bed ,better than my own one . Everything was there for us flowers and milk and shortbread was such a lovely touch . Would definitely go back to that lodge .

The owners really thought of everything we might need during our stay. Lovely free flowers and tea, coffee, and biscuits provided.

Lodge was lovely and cosy and very clean , not to sure about rocking chair it was a bit hard .

Beautiful little cabin in a lovely area. Spotlessly clean and immaculately presented. Really cozy and comfortable. It was mine and my fiancées first Christmas together and we're so happy we spent it in this gorgeous location. The only drawback was the TV signal. It was pretty much unwatchable most of the time. It was very windy through most of our stay though, but even when the wind dropped it wasn't much better. Everything else was absolutely perfect though and would certainly recommend highly. Oh, and do visit 'The Running Fox' for some delicious food.

A stunning, cosy cabin.

Had everything we could possibly need. It was so clean, bed was ridiculously comfortable. There is a shop just a short car drive away, local pubs and beaches (dog friendly). We cannot recommend this place enough. Would love to stay again. Thank you!

Our holiday was great from start to finish, it was very clean and well maintained in the property and it was a very cosy place to rest up after we had been out most of the day.

We will definitely be back in the future.

Very clean and comfortable wooden lodge, well equipped with everything you need, also good location to visit the beautiful beaches and villages.

The cabin was lovely in a beautiful location we really enjoyed our stay there it was so peaceful and relaxing just what we needed.

If I was to recommend anything it would be to list good dog walking routes around the area as we did alot of walking on the road side and couldn't find any country walks

The cabin was beautifully clean and was equipped to that of a high standard.

It had a decent shower with 2 sets of towels so we could change midweek. Once we had got used to the wooden thresholds from the bedroom, bathroom and main room.....it was lovely and comfortable. We were unlucky with the weather so it was a little chilly at times, but a quick blast with the heating on rectified that and made it cosy. Definitely recommend as we had a great time.

It was a very comfy & clean lodge, with plenty of cooking utensils & the added touch of a pint of milk & tea, coffee & biscuits was most welcome.

Two things I would recommend: A foot stool Fly screens on the windows, the flies became a bit of a pain (external fly screens).

Bed and pillows excellent.

Some cobwebs inside of windows, but otherwise clean. Equipped adequately for two people stay. Lounge settee ok, but another comfortable chair would have helped. Bathroom fine.

At first sight it looks a bit in the middle of nowhere but it’s perfectly located for several tours: Alnwick, Holy Island, Gragside, Simonside hils and exploring the higher Northhumberland hills.

The lodge is comfortable, clean and with a kitchen suitable for everyday cooking. As is clearly mentioned no wifi but thats adds to the holiday rest… The park itself is quit and well maintained. Since it’s a dog friendly park there are a lot around but they all behaved

! - only slight comment I would make, is the sofa is a little uncomfortable but would not let it stop me from staying here again

We enjoyed our stay very much.

The cabin was excellent in every way Well kitted out with essentials, Clean ,comfy and warm . It was so nice to come back too after a day out.So I would definitely rate it ten out of 10.

Lovely peaceful weekend

Everything spot on - Matt had to come and adjust toilet seat as it had come loose and came within an hour very helpful and chatty - I only had a problem with the tin opener did'nt seem to cut very well - Enjoyed my stay will look to book further stays.

This cabin is stunning!

So cosy and well designed with excellent amenities. The bed is literally the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, the shower was amazing, the views gorgeous. I got dropped off for 5 days so had no transport. There weren't a great deal of local walks, so I think 5 days was enough without a car. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway!

A lovely cosy cabin with everything you need in it.

The owners have thought of everything that you would need to have a comfortable stay. The special touches like fresh flowers and milk in the fridge are so welcoming.Full handsoaps and washing up liquid,dog treats and a doggy box should you need it. The only criticism we would have would be to have a larger sofa and maybe not the rocking chair as lovely as it was.Overall a really nice place to stay and would recommend it.

This was the perfect holiday break in a beautifully furbished, rustic log cabin with all the necessary luxuries to ensure an amazing experience .

It was detached and private, with stunning views in a quiet location on the edge of a lovely village, warm and cosy with many unexpected special extras to welcome us to our home for 5 days. There were even homemade treats, blankets, towels etc for our little dog! Many thanks to the care and consideration provided by the owners. We will definitely be revisiting!!

The only couple of small things that we would have liked to see was a shelf in the shower to put toiletries on, particularly useful for disabled people like my husband.

The other was a shaver point in the bathroom. Everything else was fabulous! We have stayed all over the country in holiday cottages and this one is definitely in our top 5. Well done Emma and Matt.

Alwinton Lodge is a comfortable welcoming home from home.

The kitchen especially is very well equipped. Cooking with a set of three saucepans, a large sauté pan and a full set of tools was a pleasure. Dogs are catered for with their own doggy box. We did not use this however, because our mini-Schnauzer, Archie, has his own holiday kit. He did enjoy the treats that were left though. Northumberland is very dog friendly. Archie visited Cragside and Bamburgh Castle with us and enjoyed all their outdoor spaces. The road adjoining Fram Park does not have a pavement, but there is a grass verge up to the pavement further up the road. Archie had full days out with us, so did not need very long early morning walks. While is it is essential to have a car to get around, there is free parking in Alnwick. We enjoyed a bus ride on the X18 with Archie to Morpeth. This is an interesting town to visit with pleasant river walks through their park. In Alnwick, the Information Centre is part of the Playhouse/Library complex. There are no signs outside and even the locals do not know where the I.C. is. All staff were very helpful and gave lots of useful and interesting information. This was an extremely relaxing week, enjoying sunny autumn days in the natural beauty of Northumberland countryside. I would highly recommend this lodge if you like peace, tranquillity and dark starry skies. We look forward to staying here again at a different time of year.

The property was exactly what we were expecting, it was lovely to the small touches like fresh flowers, a welcome pack of biscuits and milk in the fridge.

The site was very tidy and everyone we met was friendly. A well situated site, local amenities within walking distance, many local attractions not far in the car. Will certainly be looking to book again soon. Finally, it was lovely to meet the owner who took the time to check everything was satisfactory.
