    Within easy walking distance to local shops and pubs. Good location for visiting Alnwick, Bamburgh. Berwick and Seahouses/Farne Islands. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

The property

Matfen is a lovely, timber lodge lying amidst the Northumberland countryside, settled on private land in the village of Longframlington. Matfen offers a group of six friends or family a tranquil retreat in this great touring location, near to the Northumberland National Park, a host of attractions and within reach of the coast. Find the charming open-plan living space, home to a rich and welcoming interior, with hues of cream and brown alongside natural wood creating a contemporary take on country style. The stylish kitchen holds an electric oven with a gas hob for making some delicious home-cooked meals, alongside a great selection of appliances. Dine at the elegant dining table with sleek cream seats, with streams of light coming through the attractive floor-length, arched window behind. Venture further East to the market town of Rothbury and explore the grand National Trust mansion of Cragside, or perhaps reroute to Alnwick to visit the medieval Alnwick Castle - the second largest inhabited castle in England. The town of Alnwick is steeped in history, with its bustling cobbled streets, impressive architecture, and beautiful gardens certainly worth exploring, or head to the Northumberland Coast AONB, dotted with sandy shorelines and delightful, coastal villages, worth exploring whilst on your travels. The village of Longframlington sits at the heart of rural Northumberland, between the Cheviots and the coast and provides great access to a range of great walking opportunities. Brinkburn Priory is a pleasant, short drive away - a restored Augustinian priory in a most lovely setting beside the River Coquet. Just 10 minutes’ drive to the west is the National Trust’s Cragside House and Gardens, whilst the Heritage Coast is just a 15-minute drive to the east, offering miles of clean sandy beaches. The historic town of Alnwick, with its impressive Castle and Garden, lies just 11 miles to the north and is well worth a visit. With the spectacular National Park also within easy reach, this superb base is ideal for exploring Northumberland or taking a relaxing break!
