    “We enjoyed our Christmas getaway at Plumtree Cottage.”

    Well positioned for walks along the coast (Alnmouth, Boulmer, Craster) as well as in-land visits (Cragside, Hulne Park). Also well equipped and cosy for just relaxing indoors. We appreciated all the little touches that made the place feel like a home from home.

Plumtree Cottage is a lovely detached stone built cottage finished to a high standard combining contemporary furnishings with quality modern equipment.

Dating from 1850 it is located in the grounds of the owner’s home and has lovely rural views.

Located a few miles from the coast at Alnmouth with Alnwick 4 miles away.

The cottage makes an excellent base for touring the Heritage coast and inland moors and hills. ACCOMMODATION OVER ONE LEVEL (Ground) Living/dining room spacious open plan with high vaulted ceiling, living flame electric fire, TV/DVD, patio doors to garden. Kitchen with ceramic hob, electric oven/grill, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and 1 step up to corridor. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
