A real pleasure staying here our third year and back for a fourth next year cottage has everything you need and is very clean and cosy and in peaceful surroundings .

.The hosts Sue And Richard are very friendly and welcoming and make the stay very pleasant couldnt ask for a nicer holiday stay

Plumtree Cottage is perfect.

It’s beautifully presented, immaculately clean and extremely well-appointed. Plus it’s in a great location for exploring this wonderful part of the country. Not only do we hope to come back to Plumtree Cottage, but we’ve already sent the link to two friends, so they might be coming themselves!

Our second time here and once again we found the cottage to be clean, comfortable and very well equipped.

It’s perfectly located for exploring all areas of Northumberland and only a few minutes from beautiful beaches and delightful places for tea and scones or crab stotties! We loved every minute and have already booked for next year.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Plumtree Cottage.

Everything we needed was available, the cottage was very clean and cosy and in a perfect location for sightseeing. We enjoyed watching the birds, rabbits and cows in the field in front of the cottage and in better weather would have sat outside for our breakfast. There is so much more to see and do that I know we will definitely come back to this cottage, but sadly it is already booked for our preferred weeks next year! Our fisrt visit to Northumberland did not disappoint.

Plumtree Cottage exceeded our expectations.

It was spacious and tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a relaxing and most enjoyable stay. It was private and overlooking fields but still near a road with easy access to many beautiful locations. It was a short drive away from Alnmouth station on the busy Newcastle to Edinburgh line. We would highly recommend this property.

We enjoyed our Christmas getaway at Plumtree Cottage.

Well positioned for walks along the coast (Alnmouth, Boulmer, Craster) as well as in-land visits (Cragside, Hulne Park). Also well equipped and cosy for just relaxing indoors. We appreciated all the little touches that made the place feel like a home from home.

A delightful cottage with everything that you need for a week away.

The owners were on hand if you needed anything but did not interfere. The location is excellent for some lovely places to visit. A rural location looking out onto fields making the stay so restful. Cows wandering in the field and birds feeding on the feeders. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.

Fantastic property, very clean and everything you need.

Absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in wholeheartedly recommending this cottage. Set away from the main road looking out on to a field of cows. Yes, you have to drive to reach any amenities but this is what makes the cottage so restful and appealing to us. The only minor gripe is that the bed is quite small when you are used to a king sized bed, but this is a personal issue and for most I suspect not an issue.

What a wonderful find, we have have been going to this area for the last ten years and this is by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

It was very comfortable, clean and an ideal location. The walks from this property are a must along the river into Alnmouth. We will be definitely booking this cottage again

Clean, comfortable, warm, well presented property.

Pleasant, quiet location with a grass field adjacent Owners were approachable and helpful. The only minor difficulty we had was turning around our 5.33 metre long vehicle in the narrow drive but the owners helped by parking their vehicles to allow us a bit more turning space.

The cottage was spotlessly clean , and very comfortable , and the owner was very friendly but didn’t intrude on our privacy . The cottage is also in a very good location for visiting all the local attractions . I’m sure we will return for another visit

Absolute gem of a property excellent location to enjoy what Northumberland has to offer the cottage was beautifully presented and clean, flowers and Prosecco a nice touch and the just were so welcoming will definitely be going back and would recommend Plumtree cottage as a great place to stay

This is an excellent holiday rental.

It's well laid out and has everything you could need. It's in a super location with town and seaside within 10 minutes drive. The owners are friendly but not intrusive. This was our fourth visit and we hope it will not be our last.

The owners are a delight to speak to and extremely pleasant. Their accommodation is spot on with beautiful views over the countryside and a lovely, quiet position in Lesbury. It’s always a special treat to stay there.

The cottage was better than expectations.

The best place we have booked and we have used Sykes a lot.

The owner was extremely helpful and had thought of everything.

A delightful, well equipped cottage surrounded by fields and abundant wildlife.

The owners Sue and Richard were extremely welcoming and totally unobtrusive despite living next door. In easy distance of places to go, the beach and local shops.

Would like to have known about the trains whooshing past regularly.

The property itself was lovely parking a slight problem as you need to be able to drive out as strange get on to a main road

Lovely welcome gift of wine and flowers. Sue was on hand to show us where everything was which was great. Lovely and relaxing - felt like a home from home settled in immediately. The cottage was very well equipped and very clean and tidy.

Sue kindly provided a nice bottle of Prosecco too as a welcome gesture.

Excellent accommodation

Everything was as described.

It would have been lovely to have had a welcome pack ie tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter and when ringing the owners about key collection, for them to ask what we would like in the pack, but this is only a minor matter. We did receive a lovely bottle of wine and some flowers. Can't wait to go back in March for my husband's birthday treat and booking again for October before all the dates go. The cottage was so warm and great to have a clean cooker as some places we have been to I have had to start cleaning. A warmer duvet might be needed in Winter but the bed was very comfortable. The best self catering property I have ever stayed in.

Excellent base for exploring the North East. Property itself was superbly equipped and spotlessly clean, lacking for nothing. We will be back in the future.

Cottage was everything that it was advertised to be and more.

Sue and Richard were happy to leave us to our own devises but very helpful when needed. If only all cottages were as good as this. Not even storm Babet could spoil our stay.

What a perfect cottage!

Absolutely everything you need, plus comfort and style. The owners are lovely, and we had flowers and wine waiting, on our arrival. This is a beautiful part of the country, and we were ideally placed for exploring. We don't drive, but there is a good bus and train network from Alnmouth itself. Would definitely come back again.

Plumtree cottage is the best we have ever stayed in the owners have got everything just right from the welcome when we arrived to when we left for home.

There was everything we needed and more provided in the cottage for our holiday, all the appliances where good quality, every thing was clean and fresh and the whole experience was one to make us look back on this holiday as one of the best cottage holidays we have ever had.

Lovely holiday cottage next to the owner’s home on the outskirts of Lesbury.

The cottage front has a patio with planters and looks across fields. There is also a lawn to the side. Patio doors open on to the garden and the views beyond. Inside, all the furniture, kitchen and bathroom etc. are modern. The owners were very welcoming and have provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. We would certainly use Plumtree Cottage again.

We really enjoyed our week stay here.

The cottage had everything we needed. The outdoor area is really lovely with views over a huge field of rabbits, hares and lapwings. Managed to sit out for a sunny breakfast once but would have done lots more if the weather was better. Great location for visiting places. A lot to do within 20 mins drive. Nice walk to Alnmouth where there are some nice little shops and some good eateries.

We have stayed at a number of Sykes Holiday Cottages but this is the best by far.

In a beautiful setting overlooking open countryside, with many places of interest in either a short walk or a few miles drive away. The interior of Plumtree cottage is tastefully decorated and has everything that you could possibly need for a restful holiday. Sue and Richard are wonderful hosts nothing too much trouble for them. What a lovely touch a bottle of wine and fresh flowers to welcome you. We can't wait for our next visit. Jean & Terry

Plumtree cottage was wonderful.

A brilliant base to explore the beautiful coastline and countryside. We would definitely recommend the cottage. It is very well equipped, clean, comfortable, cosy and warm. The information booklet was very useful. There are plenty of lovely pubs and restaurants in the area, we tried several and thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to Sue and Richard, who were so nice, the wine, flowers and card, was a really lovely touch. We would love to return if we are back in the area.

Plum tree Cottage is a lovely place to stay and is a credit to the owners.

It was ideally situated in the country but only minutes from Alnwick ( nice market town) and minutes from the sea (both by car). We loved it! There were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival which is a nice gesture and very much appreciated.

Plumtree Cottage is an ideal place to spend a holiday in the lovely Northumberland area around Alnwick.

It is extremely well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and you could not ask for better hosts. The surroundings are private and peaceful and the only noise is the sound of the trains going by behind the cottage.. For us, this was in fact an added bonus. It is without doubt one of our favourite places to stay for a relaxing, stress-free holiday in the best county in England, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent location between Alnmouth and Alnwick. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very quiet and private. The visitors book showed most people had stayed on two occasions or more and we can thoroughly understand why. We hope that we can stay again ourselves in the future.
