Lovely property - one of the best we've ever rented in the UK.

Very well equipped in all areas, especially the spacious kitchen. Large comfortable bedrooms, the main one having wonderful views down the very long garden and across open country. Very quiet area, fairly secluded, but easy access to the lovely coast, especially Warkworth and Amble. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at The Mustard Pot.

The house is very well equipped and comfortable and the garden is perfect for dogs. The location is wonderful and within a 5 minute drive of the coast - the beach is dog friendly and even on a warm bank holiday wasn’t crowded. The neighbours are very friendly and happy to share recommendations for places to visit in the area and make you feel very welcome. We will be returning to the Mustard Pot as soon as we can.

The Mustard Pot provided an ideal base to explore the area.

It is well appointed and the back garden is truly secure. I have a Westie which specialises in escaping and she couldn't manage to do so from this garden - a first! My ratings would have been at the highest level in all categories but for the problems I previously notified you of : leak from shower staining living room ceiling; broken hinge on one kitchen cupboard door.

We loved our stay at The Mustard Pot.

The house is a good size, well furnished, very quiet, and has a big dog friendly garden. We had 2 dogs with 2 crates but there was plenty of room to fit these in. There were 4 large car parking spaces for the cottage, 2 at the front door and 2 about a 30 second walk from the house. The location was perfect. We found good dog walks from the house (one to Morwick Dairy for human and dog ice cream), but also took the dogs to the beach which is about 10 minutes away by car. There is also a nice country park about 10 minutes away by car. The house is very close to Warkworth, Amble and Alnwick but we also ventured further away to Morpeth, Holy Island, Bamburgh, and Craster which has a lovely coastal walk to the castle and beach. We used the cooker, washing machine and dishwasher which worked well, but we mostly ate out. There are plenty of dog friendly pubs and restaurants near by, just make sure you book. If visiting the area again, we would definitely stay at this house.

The place was spotless, had everything we needed and was well maintained.

Clean & spacious, central heating and under floor heating spot on.

Well equipped kitchen, good size garden for dogs. The plug in the bath could be blocked since it does not empty quickly when having a shower. Shame there was only 1 toilet roll in each of the 3 toilets and no handwash was provided.

Peaceful surroundings and everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is spacious and very comfortable with fantastic views. Our dog loved the garden too. We would recommend to family and friends.

The Mustard Pot is in a lovely quiet spot, the large garden was perfect for dogs and the house comfortable for 2 couples.

The kitchen had everything we needed and ideal for shutting the dogs in at night. Ideal place for visiting surrounding areas. Only slight negative - there were a couple of minor repairs needed and no footpaths from the house- walking meant going on the quiet roads so we mainly drove. We would all return

Extremely disappointing.

Upon our arrival we noticed it wasn’t very clean. Balls of human hair on the bathroom floor and hair in the sink in the en-suite bathroom which blocked it. Upon unblocking this the stench was awful. Thick cobwebs throughout. Kitchen cupboards and utensils were filthy, rusty and needed washing before use. Kitchen cupboards and glass shelves need cleaning. Some kitchen cupboards door hinges were loose. Dead spider and old dog food in the cupboard which had the dog bowls in. Dishwasher, fridge and freezer inside weren’t clean. Windows and glass in doors were dirty. The up/down handle was missing off the toaster, extremely dangerous. Dishwasher didn’t stop after the cycle. Outdoor chair leg rusted through so extremely dangerous to sit on. En-suite shower was leaking through lounge ceiling. The settees were covered in loose covers which aren’t shown in the description on the website, these were to cover up stains/marks on the settee. The list goes on!! I contacted Northumbria coast and cottages. Various emails were sent. I was offered a full clean. It should have been clean upon our arrival. Arrival time was from 4pm so plenty of time to clean. We didn’t want the intrusion of cleaners during our stay and I asked NC&CC to be respectful of our decision plus it wasn’t just cleaning that needed to take place items needed replacing and contractors would have needed to come in to resolve all the issues. The last email correspondence I had from NC&CC was that they were going to contact the owners as my contract was with them and not NC&CC or Sykes. I said that if they sent me the owners details I’d contact them directly. They informed me that I could go through the small claims court to get my issues resolved. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for the owner to contact me to discuss. I look forward to hearing from them sooner rather than later. I have plenty of lovely holiday photos but I also have many of the issues above and more which I’d rather not look at again or have to share. I don’t go on holiday to send endless emails and to have to clean a property. A very expensive holiday for what we got, very disappointing. I look forward to your immediate response.

Really useful to have the cordless vacuum so a great addition. Lovely cosy cottage with plenty of kitchen essentials. Highly recommend this cottage, situated perfectly for peace and quiet and only small car journeys to busier areas. Love this place.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely position & perfect for all the family.

In immaculate condition, & fabulously presented. We all had a wonderful stay. A couple of tiny niggles - please would you provide handwash in the bathrooms & cloakrooms, & the dishwasher is not washing very clean. Maybe a dose of salt or a different make of dishwasher tablets would work?

What a beautiful cottage.

Everything and more equipment wise. Beautifully clean and spacious. The beds were super comfy and enormous. The views from the master bedroom were amazing. The garden was a hit with our 3 Grandchildren and may have scared the neighbours with all the laughing and screaming they made. We took garden games and they had a super time running around. They loved the board games. We explored all over castles and gardens, joined English Heritage as dogs are allowed. Would defo go again for all the homely comforts. Thank you

What more could you want.

The property had everything we needed and more. The property itself was spacious, add to that the garden, just the perfect match. It’s about 10mins from a fantastic beach.

The mustard pot was excellent, well equipped, large lawn, in a nice quiet area, just a few little faults the downstairs toilet wasn't working, the hover was broken smelt of burning when we switched it on, otherwise it was excellent and would go back again

The property is lovely and well situated for visiting the many sites in and around the coast.

It would help if the skylights in the bedrooms with no windows could be opened to allow fresh air circulation . And that there was more than one toilet roll was left in the 2 bathrooms and cloakroom . The smallest bedroom really hasn't and proper storage. The cupboard that was in the room was full of duvets, cloth airer, highchair, and bed guard. So that only left a small hanging rail and bedside cabinet , which wasn't ideal for an adult. Other than that we all had a great time.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage however we had two issues that we believe need addressing.

Firstly the shower in the en suite is totally unusable as water sprays in every direction both inside and outside the cabinet resulting in the floor being soaked. It is unsafe to use and we were worried about water leaking into downstairs. We had deliberately booked a property with two showers so this was disappointing. Secondly there was considerable evidence of dog hair on sofas, sofa blankets and bedding. Whilst we appreciate that this is a dog friendly property we believe that more effort should be made to remove the dog hair. If these issues were addressed it would be a lovely place to stay. Emily the owner had very helpfully provided a Christmas tree for our stay.

The location of the property is fantastic. The property itself (building layout and design) is ideal, lots of space for us all in nice big rooms. Plenty of hot water and no issues with heating. Garden fantastic. The property was not clean. I cleaned the toilets myself and they hadn’t been cleaned since the previous guests. The carpet upstairs hadn’t been hoovered. The living room rug was covered in dog hair that wasn’t from our dog. A lot of dog hair downstairs, all over the floors, under sofas, dining table etc. Dirty windows inside and outside. Our 8 month old baby dropped some yoghurt on the kitchen floor, I cleaned it up with a baby wipe and the wipe was filthy, so the hard floors had definitely not been cleaned for a long time. Dirty bins, mouldy chopping boards and wooden spoons in the kitchen. Previous guests rubbish under sofas and down the side of the single bed. It really let our holiday down and we won’t return because of the cleanliness.

Excellent property which we very much enjoyed

Sheets needed changing on one bed.

Dog hair bundles on the carpet. Slip mat needed in the bath. Once we contacted Sykes these matters were immediately sorted. However I would suggest a strong 'pet's Hoover be used. In spite of these issues everything else excellent...position, size, views, facilities. We had a wonderful week in beautiful Northumberland

Absolutely wonderful holiday home, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning!

The washing machine and dish washer where absolutely filthy.

The dog hair in the washing machine was really bad, I had put the washer on a rinse and then wiped the seal, drum and glass to remove a lot of dog hair, I ended up doing 2 further washes with wiping inbetween the seal, glass and drum until it was clean and ready to use. . The dish washer smelt absolutely awful, I had the clean the filter which was absolutely rammed with food and had the really soak and clean the filter with the sink brush and do a full hot wash with the dish washer empty to get it usable again. The dishwasher could do with topping up with salt and rinse aid as we didn't bring any and would help keep it smelling.nicer. We didn't bring our dog in the end but would of liked use of a vacuum to keep the rug clean and clean up the previous dogs hair. The cottage is beautiful and in an ideal location and facilities in the cottage were great. Ample of games and garden furniture cushions and etc.. outside a tap bonus We will defo come back in the future.

A great location for a quiet and peaceful holiday.

The property had everything we needed for our week’s holiday. The location, less than 3 miles from Warkworth provided us with good access to local roads taking us to the ever popular sights on the Northumberland Coast

It was a third visit to the Mustard Pot , lovely again.

Only one disappointing thing was last year in the lounge the left hand curtain had come off the track so they didn’t shut properly and they haven’t been fixed so were the same again. Otherwise everything perfect.

The property was perfect for a multi generational holiday including a toddler and three dogs.

We could even bake a cake to celebrate my 61st birthday. We took our own Amazon Firestick so could watch what we wanted on the TV. Plenty of games in the property to also occupy us when the weather wasn't so good. The big fridge and freezer were a big bonus especially after our Tesco’s delivery. The chairs and view from the master bedroom were amazing after an active day. The location was great with plenty to see and do. We will be back.

The cottage was amazing.

And well equipped and uninterrupted views across the counrtyside it was the perfect location to travel out to visit the wonderful sounding coastline. The only things that we found uncomfortable were the pillows and the mattresses, which were very hard. But this would not put me off booking to stay at the Mustard Pot again.

Really nicely appointed house, perfect for our needs as a family with babies and dogs.

Great kitchen, lovely secure garden and plenty of parking. Our stay would have been better had there been more day-to-day essentials in the house - no salt in the salt grinder, no olive oil, no spices or cooking basics, no pods for the coffee machine..I had to ‘find’ washing up liquid in the cleaner’s cupboard as we were provided a teaspoons-worth as part of our pack (for three days??). Also, I know the listing stated there would be no wood for the log burner but having stayed in many cottages in other places I do think a welcome pack of logs would be more friendly.

We chose the Mustard Pot for a break with 4adults and 3 dogs and it was perfect.

The garden was ideal for the dogs to run around in and the house is a real home from home. The location was great with short drives to lots of locations for long beach walks and pub lunches. Highly recommend this cottage.

The cottage was really well appointed and decorated. The kitchen was really well equipped, the living dining area was set out well, and the log burner was lovely in the evenings and a great focal point. The huge garden was perfect for Nigel, Norman and Trevor our 3 miniature schnauzers to run about in. Such a peaceful setting as well. We would definitely return.

Excellent cottage in quiet, relaxing location.

Cottage is exactly as shown in photos. Finished to a high standard, spacious and very well equipped. Huge garden with beautiful views. Perfect for visiting lovely towns of Warkworth and Amble with several beautiful beaches nearby. Would fully recommend. Only slight disappoint was total lack of TV signal. Whilst watching TV was not a high priority, it is nice to know it works when you would like it to.

Absolutely wonderful cottage, could not recommend highly enough.

We did not want to leave and neither did our dogs who couldn’t believe the size of the garden. Stunning views of surrounding countryside. Well equipped kitchen. Good size bedrooms, with comfortable beds. Can not wait to return.

The house was brilliant and well equipped, however only thing that let it down was the poor television signals and terrible Wi-Fi , some nights we couldn’t watch anything .

Lovely long garden for the dogs in a quiet, scenic location

Brilliant property, lovely area, great layout.

Spacious, well-equipped, great for dogs. Picky points- thoughtful wine on arrival- but no toilet roll, which seems odd. Seemed clean, but on moving coffee tables etc to clean it on leaving, it was very dusty; furniture hadn’t been moved to clean properly for a good while. We didn’t use bbq- but cleaned it anyway, as it hadn’t been cleaned after the last user. All a pity, really; I imagine the owners expect better from whoever cleans the place. Still, a great place to visit.

We absolutely loved the property.

It was really well equipped and there was plenty of space for six adults and three dogs. The garden was great and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable.

There were six adults and two dogs in our party and there was plenty of room and space for everyone. We cannot recommend this property highly enough and are already looking forward to holidaying there again soon.

It was very clean, with stunning views at the rear. Very quiet and peaceful, and had a incredibly well equipped kitchen. The board game collection was brilliant and overall had a lovely stay.

This property is exceptional, the quality of the fixtures and fittings, the art work -I cannot speak highly enough of it.

Property was excellent, great location, well maintained and with everything you could need regards kitchen equipment, well furnished with quality fittings, lots of information, great for our dogs - even food bowls provided.

Children enjoyed Netflix. Lovely big master bedroom, so enjoyed relaxing with the lovely views reading and chilling out!

Tastefully furnished. Good beds for a restful sleep. Quiet location with beautiful view. We felt very comfortable.

The property is finished to a high standard and feels spacious on entering the hall/kitchen area.

The view from the lounge is a relaxing way to start the day. The patio and lawned area provides ample space to relax outside and the seating area at the end of the garden was an ideal book reading area. Parking so close to the property was also a bonus.

Quiet & relaxing. Well appointed kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Good variety of games, books etc had the weather been poor. Well positioned for easy access around the county. Lots of useful information for places to visit & local amenities. Happy to recommend and to return....

We had a fantastic stay at the mustard pot.

We had our two dogs and it was amazing to have the HUGE garden and lots of space downstairs for their beds. The kitchen was so well stocked with appliances and anything you might need. It’s a great location for Alnmouth and Warkworth. Would have loved to have stayed longer and explored local walks because it’s beautiful. Thanks for having us!
