    Even the swallows came to meet us. The surrounding area is beautiful and we had the most fabulous place from which to explore. We will more than likely be returning. Thanks for having us.

Swallows Cottage is ideally situated for a holiday exploring Northumberland and is within a short distance to Warkworth, Felton and Amble where you can experience some fantastic eateries and coffee shops and take in some of the breathtaking beaches and tourist attractions that we have to offer.

The property is the perfect place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The garden is very peaceful and totally private. ACCOMMODATION OVER ONE LEVEL (Ground) Kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. Lounge with comfy seating, TV and electric fire. Bedroom 1 with king-size bed. Shower room with walk in shower, WC and basin. OTHER FACILITIES Private parking.

Garden to rear of the property with seating and wonderful flower beds.

Oil central heating.

All power, linen and towels included in the rent.

About the location

ACKLINGTON

Alnmouth 9 miles; Alnwick 11 miles.

Acklington is a small rural village located just a few miles from the coast and its near neighbour Warkworth. The village has a pub with bar and restaurant and, with the many activities and groups held locally, offers a real sense of community spirit. The River Coquet meanders past the village, with a picturesque view from Guyzance Bridge. There is a limited bus and train service to Alnwick, Newcastle and Alnmouth, and the whole of the coast is within easy driving distance. Warkworth, 4 miles away, is a pretty village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th Century castle. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries and antique shops, a village shop-cum-post office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9-hole 'pay and play' golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian's Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade.
