“Loved it. Great location, lovely comfortable cottage with a properly enclosed garden, which is great when you have dogs.”

Perfect for what we needed, with easy access in to Belford and on to the many local highlights. Two minor quibbles in that the bath wasn't draining very well during our visit, and the oven runs hotter than the thermostat suggests, but they wouldn't stop us booking again and didn't spoil anything.

“Lovely and decent size for a 2 bedroom cottage (We've stayed in much smaller ones).”

The location is stunning, and kijers will find walks from the doorstep. You can even see the sea (just!) The lawn is well looked after and would be ideal for little ones to play in. The kitchen has a good selection of pots, pans and even pie/casserole dishes, and oven/hob and microwave all work well and are clean. One thing that is missing are some bigger pasta-bowls, as you only have small cereal bowls or flat plates to serve on. It is about 15 minutes drive to Lindesfarne/Holy Island and 10 minutes in the other direction to other beautiful village and beaches. A slight niggle that can't be avoided is how noisy the traffic is, starting around 6am, considering it's not a main road, so light sleepers should bring earplugs and maybe an eyemask as the shutters don't keep the light out. Being a small kitchen, there isn't a washing machine, but we were aware of that before we booked. It's a bit of a luxury but we like to get most of the washing done BEFORE getting back home. The dishwasher was still welcome. Scott the owner was extremely helpful in sorting any queries and problems, and hopefully will sort the hard mattress and squeaky bedframe. Really friendly and approachable.

“Lovely cottage in ideal location - away from the tourist hotspots but within easy reach of them.”

Lots of parking space and very secure garden so our dog could come and go as he pleased without us worrying. Cottage was very comfortable and blissfully cool despite very hot weather. Scott was great, very happy to help with any queries or problems, he was like a neighbour you’d know for years! Northumberland is beautiful and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again and hopefully stay there again. Thank you Scott for a wonderful holiday.

“Nice cottage in a great location for exploring the top end of Northumberland.”

We cycled most days and could pick a mixture of flat and coastal, or moorland and hills. Close to Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Wooler all of which a lovely places to visit. We found a great pub for food ten minutes drive away called The Packhorse Inn at Ellingham. The food is fantastic!!

“We enjoyed our stay and the owner was very helpful.”

In reflection a larger bath and fridge freezer would be most welcome and the small fridge and icebox was okay for two but not much room to put larger items. Ideal for our dog who loved the garden

“Fabulous stay at Kitts cottage.”

It is well equipped and in a fabulous location , close to wonderful beaches and attractions. We holidayed with friends and hired Bruno’s Bothy next door which worked out brilliantly with the interlinking door which could be locked on either side for privacy. The garden was great and dog friendly . A wonderful stay and highly recommended

There is a lockable gate that allows you access into the garden next door as well as the adjoining door inside the cottage We installed the adjoining door to cater for party's of up to 9 guests and are so glad that you enjoyed it's use. We use it at New Year when the family are all with us, however we use the door to keep the kids out!! We hope to see you again. Property Owner

“We had a lovely short break at Kits cottage.”

Location was ideal for exploring the area. Bamburgh and Holy Island are just a short drive away. The cottage is perfect, we had everything we needed and it was exceptionally clean. The beds are really comfortable and there's a lovely garden to sit in. Scott , the owner was very friendly and rang to ensure we were comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking to visit the area.

“Great location for both coast and inland exploration of Northumberland.”

Cottage is well equipt and comfortable. Off road parking at the rear( proper tar mac car park not just a rutted bit of ground) facilitated easy access to the property for loading and un loading luggage). Being in a short terrace the cottage is not isolated. Walls are thick so never heard any neighbour noise from either side. A very enjoyable week at Kits cottage!

“We had an excellent week at Kits cottage in Middleton just outside of Belford.”

Ideally placed to visit all the local attractions. In close proximity to a beautiful village called Belford with amenities including a co-op a fish and chip shop a tea room and pubs. Kits cottage was lovely and clean heating was good as was the hot water. Excellent facilities in the kitchen, this is a personal preference and not a criticism but as avid walkers we prefer a washing machine rather than a dishwasher. Comfy beds couldn’t ask for more hoping to visit soon. Had the pleasure of meeting Scott the owner on day of our departure. Had a really good chat with him and he told us the history of the houses overall a five star holiday.

It was a 50-50 split on the decision between a washer or dish washer. The Dishwasher won.....sorry!! However there is a very good laundrette in the village opposite the CoOp. That was probably the deciding factor. Property Owner

“The property was easy to find and perfectly situated to explore so much in the area.”

We were extremely fortunate with the weather (last week in June - not affected by the heatwave in the rest of England!) so were able to be out and about every day. Therefore didn't need to use the fire place, so can't comment on that. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything you might need for cooking your own meals, compared to many other places we've stayed in. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was good regarding water temperature and pressure; again, better than some other places. The garden furniture is now different to the one in the photo as is the layout in the family (larger) bedroom, but nothing to detract from the overall description. I would happily return for another stay to explore more than we were able to.

“We had a lovely stay.”

It was central to all the areas that we wanted to see in our first visit to Northumberland i.e., Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Beaches, National Park etc. After a long day the property was lovely to return to, very quaint with all the comfort & amenities provided. The hosts obviously show a lot of attention to detail in making sure everything is provided. I would definitely recommend this property.
