Coastal Plaice

This was a great place to stay, very near to all amenities and five minutes from the beach every thing was spot on clean,well decorated, beautiful garden.

the only thing was some lights bulbs want changing expecally the outside light and some clear instructions for the cooker but saying that we had a great time cheers

Single beds were terrible the worst bed I have ever slept in so much so had to put 6x towels and the other duvet down to try and improve it.

Would benefit from some tender loving care and actual instructions on how to use the oven/microwave.

Super facilities and very homely. Ideal for dogs.

It was a well equipped very pleasant house.

Well situated and within walking distance of good places to eat and the beach. The parking was fine for us, but I imagine might be tight in high season, but there would be places on the road only a few yards away.

The accommodation was clean, comfortable ( apart from the single beds, mattress in need of replacement) in a great location.

In all a very enjoyable week.

The property was as expected.

Small but suitably priced and we had a nice stay. Would say some of the kitchen areas were not as clean as they could have been but biscuits and prosecco a welcome touch. No complaints re the equipment provided. Good bathroom and comfy bed. Would consider again as a convenient base. Thank you

Plenty of facilities and open plan worked well. Parking was tight but did not inconvenience us in any way.

We had a lovely stay here.

The owner was very helpful when we contacted her, as we had some problems travelling because of storm Amy. (Luckily, the rest of the week was beautiful!) Coastal Plaice was clean and welcoming with lots of thoughtful details. Furniture and beds were comfy, shower was good, TV and wifi worked well and the kitchen was well equipped( including a cheese grater!) We appreciated having good quality pans to cook with as that often doesn’t happen in holiday cottages. Our little dog loved the garden. It’s safe and enclosed and equipped with good garden furniture and the allocated parking was just outside the gate. The cottage itself is ideally placed. It is a short walk to the beach, the local shop (well equipped, with a bit of a farm shop/ Spar vibe,) and the village centre which has some nice places to eat or get cake and coffee, and an interesting church. (We bought a guide book there, which took you on a historic circular walk of Beadnell, which was really interesting.) We spent a couple of days just exploring Beadnell and it was nice not to have to use the car every day. There were lots of lovely places to visit in the local area when we went out for a drive too. Thank you for a lovely week. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful property everything needed for a holiday stay.

The property has an open tread wooden staircase which was very slippery and would benefit from a carpet or non slip treads. Plenty of outside space with grass for people with dogs to sit out on. Outdoor area for for dining in the garden. Owners left us wine and cakes for which we were very appreciative.

The property was very comfortable.

It was easy to get to the beach, small village and local shop.Had problem with oven,although owner did send us a video on how to use it. The cooker worked well but we found the oven rather difficult to use. Good written instructions would be very helpful and a check to see whether the oven is working correctly. The only other problem we only discovered when we were about to leave. I checked the shower drain as it is similar to what we have at home, because if it's left full of water it becomes dirty and smelly. It looked like whoever cleans the house did not realise this has to be emptied and cleaned, so it did look quite dirty. But we didn't think any of these niggles detracted from a very pleasant holiday.Hope to return. Jo

Clean and comfortable cottage, but a little sparse.

A coffee table downstairs would be useful. Also 4 larger table mats. And a waste bin upstairs somewhere. A reference as to how to work the oven would be very useful.

The property wasn't very clean, looks like the cleaner changed the beds and threw a bit of water on bathroom floor, mirrors you couldn't really see thro, dirty corners in lounge, cupboards dirty, stairs handrail was really dirty and sticky, I have photographic evidence if interested, wouldn't stay there again

A lovely place to stay, great kitchen and bathroom with a lovely hot water shower and after a daily sea swim was much appreciated.

The new heating system will probably mean it is nice and warm if it’s a cool Northumberland experience but our week was warm. Lots of houses in Beadnell still have old fashioned storage heaters- this was modern !The garden is spacious and tidy and secure for a dog and there are ample dog walks from the front door. Very nicely equipped and tasteful decor but easy to keep clean with a sandy Labrador in tow. The pubs and shop are all less than 10 minutes walk and the bus is regular if you want to go car free. Own car parking space and in a quiet part of the village but easy to get to the beach, harbour and places to eat. Thanks for a lovely visit.

just a couple of things that let it down for me.

As i like to prepare my own meals most of the time. There was no cheese grater, measuring jug, and could not find any instructions to use the oven and grill, which both my husband and myself could not get working. And a small milk pan would be good. But it was well positioned for exploring the coast.

Firstly, I must apologise.

Our dog left his calling card on the lawn first thing on the morning of departure. What with getting everything packed up, clearing up, vacuuming, then loading the car I completely forgot to pick up after him. I’m so sorry. We have had a super week in your lovely house, it was a real home from home with everything you could possibly need. You have thought of everything and what a refreshing change not to be left a huge file of do’s and don’ts! Everything went smoothly, even the weather played ball after an iffy first weekend but the rain stayed away, which was the main thing. This is such a wonderful area to explore and this property is in the ideal position. I loved the short cut to the sea, my first walk of the day was there to sit on the bench watching the waves, fantastic. We have enjoyed visiting Seahouses, Bamburgh, Craster and Alnwick, finding some lovely dog friendly pubs to have lunch in. Thank you for the bottle and biscuits, that was a nice touch. All in all we have thoroughly enjoyed staying in your property, it was a wonderful week, thank you.

Fantastic holiday cottage, very clean and everything you would need for a stay.

As others have said very low garden wall, fortunately my dog doesn’t jump.

Broken catch on gate, which was problematic. Well equipped in kitchen, New appliances, but nowhere to hang washing, old broken tiny clothes airer. Generally not very clean, old piece of bread in bread bin, every glass surface smeared and dirty including patio doors, table and bedside lamps. Not very welcoming, mournful mess of a handful of teabags, coffee in a cardboard box with garlic peelings in it. Nothing provided for dogs, which would have been a nice touch.

It would be useful to have a coffee table in the living room.

Lovely house, nice walk to beach once you figure out the short cut.

Clean open planned living. Staircase isn’t the greatest for young children, could be worth investing in a baby gate at the top and bottom of stairs. Parking a little tight. But overall a super property in Beadnell.

The property is absolutely beautiful and the garden is enclosed and generally speaking dog friendly.

My only comment would be that the walls are not high enough for dogs with the ability/tendency to jump. This is the only reason that I haven’t rebooked for next year. That being said we had a fabulous time.

A very pleasant stay in a lovely little village; beautiful beaches not far away and several nice food and drink venues in the village itself.

The estate the property is situated in is not particularly picturesque, but it’s very well kept and peaceful. We found the property to be perfectly comfortable for a few days stay, albeit quite bare on cosy furnishings / kitchen utensils and when we arrived the house was freezing as the heating was turned off and it took us a while to figure out how to turn the heating on and get warm. But the welcome Prosecco and cake was a nice touch, the correspondence was good and the directions and instructions were very easy to follow and access on first arrival. Plus, if you’re bringing your dog, the nicely mowed and well kept garden is ideal

Dishwasher pretty useless 2. Shower rail loose to wall 3. No instructions about recycling - blue bin already 3/4 full of unsuitable waste and not emptied by council when put out. 4. No information about local attractions etc.

Lovely, cozy place to stay.

Well equipped and clean. Great for exploring the coast and local area. A washing line would have been a useful addition. The whole family, including Sid the dog, had a brilliant holiday, thank you!

The property was well prepared, well equipped and comfortable.

Beadnell is not a large village, so the harbour and beach were an easy walk from the property. It was well situated for all the visits we wished to make up and down the coast from Cocklawburn Beach in the north, down through Holy Island, Bamburgh and Seahouses, all the way down to Alnwick and Warkworth. When we inadvertently left a few bits and pieces behind in a small cupboard, we could not have been given more help in being reunited with them. Assistance above and beyond comes to mind. This is definitely a property worth bearing in mind for a holiday on the Northumberland coast.

Just returned from a fantastic stay in Coastal Plaice at Beadnell.

Location is great - 5 minute walk to The Craster Arms which has a lovely garden, decent food and dog friendly! The coast/ beach is 5 minute walk, with the beautiful "proper" beach of Beadnell bay a 15 minute walk from the house. We had some delicious food at The Landing. Beadnell is in a good location to access the area - we walked to Seahouses and Low Newton along the beach and coastal path, Bamburgh and Embleton are 10 minute drive, and Alnmouth, Alnwick, Amble/ Warkworth about 30 minutes drive. The house has an allocated parking space, lovely garden and was spotlessly clean! Kitchen facilities great including microwave, dishwasher and washing machine should you need it. We really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

An ideal holiday home in a quiet location.

The house has everything needed but a small coffee table would have been useful. It is within easy reach of the beautiful beach and bus stops, if wanting to travel about without a car. Not far to walk to the nearest eateries and the local shop.

The property was spotless.

There was loo roll, tea , coffee, soap and a lovely welcome gift of cup cakes and prosecco. Everything was well thought out except there was no manual for the oven, no info as to when to put the bins out and no info as to what was expected when we left. I therefore just followed your guidance of stripping the beds and emptying rubbish. I would have hoovered up, but I left it until the morning we left only to find that the vacuum wasn't charged. One mug right at the back of the cupboard was cracked and leaked. We left this in the kitchen window with a note. We had a lovely stay, loved being so close to the beach and enjoyed all local eateries. We would not hesitate to return again.

Very smart and clean apparently renovated recently.

Lots of crockery and glasses available so could utilise the dish washer effectively. Really enjoyed our stay

Cosy, spotless clean, newly furbished.

Close to beaches and local pubs in the village. Looks out onto parking area. Enclosed garden for the dog. 2 bedrooms. King-size comy bed and 2 singles. Bathroom with a small separate shower. Open plan kitchen diner living area. Open staircase.

Absolutely spotless, very thoughtful welcome gift, brilliant location, had an excellent stay.

Excellent place, close to amenities and beach, pub etc, could not fault it.
