“Flora Cottage is small but perfectly formed with everything we needed-2 adults and 2 chocolate Labradors fitted in easily and it was an amazing base to explore Northumberland.”

“Bed size too big for small bedroom, 3/4 size max.”

,could just get to one side, other against the wall. Small T.V. Shower extremely small, o.k for 1 skinny person. Small kitchen which with the few appliances was very cluttered, no room for toaster, microwave in righthand corner with door opening right to left awkward to load and unload. This is a one person bungalow not for couples. It is on a small housing estate you are sitting outside 5 yards to the road overlooking other estate housing. There is 1 shop nearby which isn't particularly well stocked with essentials. I would definitely not recommend this property and would give it a miss for myself and my wife. Extremely disappointing.

Sofa wasn't comfortable and no smart TV only things that let it down for me. This didn't spoil our holiday as we often were out to the nearby beach and village - very close.

“Lovely little stay that suited my wife and I with our two dogs.”

It was really clean and well equipped and just perfect for what we needed. We were very comfortable for the week. The location is just perfect and in walking distance to the beach, pub and village shop. A designated parking space on the back was ideal too. Not that we found it a problem as we used the green on the side of the property but if future guests go with dogs, ensure that your dogs are on a lead when you take them out as there is no secure garden for them to do their business. We had a really lovely stay at Flora cottage and hope to be back soon.

“What can you say about the place other than fab, for two people on a seaside holiday it’s spot on.”

Everything you need is right there. Furnishings are great with a comfy bed and a nice sofa and chair set, decent TV, all the crockery and mugs etc are to be found in the well equipped Kitchen. There was even a pint of milk in fridge for us as well as biscuits and coffee/tea to get us started. Cleanliness wise it was spot on. Whilst the place is compact but it’s big enough to have enough space not to be falling over each other and way better than a hotel room unless you can afford a big suite. It’s situated on a quiet road with a dedicated parking spot only 1 min walk away, we walked to beach everyday with dogs morning and night and it’s just 5-6 mins walk (local shop is next to beach entrance). The beach at Beadnell Bay is quite a bit further at 10-15 mins walk, that said the nearby beach is lovely with sand and rock pools and excellent beach walks towards Seahouses. The property owner has decorated the place nicely and coupled to my previous points we felt it was a home from home. We had a lovely break and would defo book again.

“I'm sorry to say Flora Cottage didn't match up to our expectations in relation to the sleeping arrangements ie,the bed was so hard and if you needed the loo in the night you had to climb over the other person to get out,totally unsatisfactory.”

We could not find the switch for the oven??but didn't need to use.The shower was very low on pressure and very small and the handset would not stay in place. If these items were put right it would be a nice place to stay,but could not go back until they were.regards Ron fuller.

“Really enjoyed our stay.”

The cottage was lovely and bright and exceptionally clean. Able to sit in the sunshine till late evening.There was lots of basics provided which was very nice. The only thing we couldn't find was a sweeping brush!

“A lovely clean single storey bungalow, ideal for couples only.”

The garden not being enclosed was a problem, especially at 3.00am in the morning when your pet needs to go to the garden. My partner had to dress to take him out. The bungalow had everything we needed. But you do have to climb over your partner to go to the loo. Because my side was against the wall. Other than that well maintained,

“The property is so small ie.”

Kitchen work space so limited appliance have to be removed if you want to use the microwave you have to move the kettle etc. No safety mat in shower, basin tap very hard to regulate. Bedroom 6' 6" wide with a king sized bed jammed up against the wall! We had to crawl over one another to get out. Garden is an open patio on the corner open to the road! Only one exit/entrance very unsafe if there was a fire. The bed was so hard that we left half way through the week to find a hotel and get some sleep. We are now over £200 out of pocket and our holiday was ruined

Close to sandy beaches, easy walk to shop and pub. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Very dog-friendly area where we could take our dog to the pub, the beach and most local attractions. Would highly recommend the area, the cottage and the local guided walks.

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
