A beautiful accommodation with everything you could ever need.

( great quality, comfortable beds too ) The patio garden was fully enclosed with plenty of seating available. The walk to the beach isn’t too far and adjoining the property to the rear is a gorgeous walled garden. Key instructions were clear as were directions to the property. We welcomed the milk and treats left for us. A really beautiful, and well run holiday let.

The house was a lovely size with plenty of space and the enclosed patio was perfect for our dog to have a wonder and lovely to sit out in.

We were blessed with sunshine and lovely weather for most of the week which made having tea outside really nice almost every evening. Exceptional Beds/mattresses. The best holiday sleep I have ever had. Was wonderful being so close to an all year round dog friendly beach that was also extremely clean and just a few minutes away from the house. Pele Tower and the beautiful walled garden are both worth a visit and are a few minutes walk away/almost next door. You can also see the walled garden from the upstairs en suite. ‘Cresswell Ices’ sells sweets and a few beach things and has lovely homemade ice cream with a variety of flavours. Situated just by the beach entrance. There’s a few choices of Supermarkets (Aldi & Asda) close by and a Morrisons in Morpeth. Morpeth was a great place to visit. Lots of shops and cafes and a pretty market place. Only 20-30 mins away by car. Had a fantastic holiday and wanted to stay longer. The treats were lovely too. Many thanks.

Our 2nd visit to Asta cottage and it was just as good as our first.

We love the beach for our morning and afternoon walks with our 3 dogs. The large , paved and secure courtyard provided safety for Our dogs and a sunny retreat for us at the end of each day . It is spacious indoors and suitable for families or a group of friends. A really good base for exploring the area .

We had a really lovely week.

The house was perfect for the 6 of us with an age range of 86 to 4. So close to the beach which was our idea of a perfect one, sand and rock pools! Also plenty of other things to do in the area including bird watching and Vindolanda. We are trying to plan another visit in the future.

A clean ,warm and welcoming cottage where dogs are welcome.

The secure courtyard area was spacious and secure. Maxine the owner is close by and able to respond quickly should any problems arise. The beach at Cresswell is a five minute walk away . It’s clean and ideal for a morning dog walk.There are so many more beautiful beaches nearby to explore. To note is some dogs may dislike the wooden floors and a stair gate would be useful. A lovely holiday home in a lovely area and we hope to visit again.

Asta Cottage is in a brilliant location to explore Northumberland.

The owner was so helpful with information and guidance prior to, and during, the visit. The cottage itself was very comfortable with a very well-equipped kitchen. It was very clean and spacious as well as feeling cosy! For a family of eight attending a wedding locally, it was great to have three bathrooms/showers and well-placed mirrors!! The parking was easy, even though we had more than two cars. Asta Cottage is highly recommended for a holiday and/or family gathering. Thank you so much

Lovely spacious house in a great location.

Well equipped for both people and dogs. Thoughtful welcome pack and plenty of beds, bowls and towels for the dogs. Lots of seating both in the kitchen and lounge for everyone to sit and dogs loved the cushions provided for them in the floor. The enclosed backyard was great for dogs to explore safely and the beach just a 5 min walk away.

Asta cottage is perfect especially for large family groups.

The cottage was exceptionally clean and very welcoming. Lovely welcome pack much appreciated. Everything in the kitchen we needed. Lovely large lounge for us all, the sofas are lovely and comfortable. It was lovely to sit at dusk and watch the bats flying past the windows doing their food hunting over the large grassed area at the front of the property. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for the four generations of our family. Lovely large bathrooms. The children and the dogs were very happy in the outside space, the table and chairs very comfortable for meals outdoors. Perfect location for us. Beach a very short stroll, the walled garden next door was an added bonus, especially as a few years ago it had been overgrown alongside the ruin of the pele tower, the restoration of both is fantastic. After many years walking past Asta cottage it was a pleasure to actually be inside it looking out! Maxine was lovely and was available anytime if we had needed her, which we didn’t as everything was perfect. A big thank you to Maxine and her cleaning ladies

Loved staying at Asta cottage was lovely and clean.

Equipped with everything you could think of that you would need. Loads of space. Yard out back was great for the dogs and children to play out. 4 minite walk to the beach was great and also the grass out the front was a bonus for letting the dogs strech their legs before bed. Very dog friendly which is always a bonus for us with 4 dogs!

This is a very spacious cottage, with a very large lounge.

Everything you need for a great family holiday. We were here in July, and with good weather made full use of the courtyard garden. The beach is only a couple of minutes from the property. Maxine the owner is very helpful.

Would have benefited from having kitchen roll in the kitchen and hand wash in the toilets.

Just got home from our 2nd stay at Asta Cottage and this property does not disappoint us humans or our four legged friends.

Big, spacious, clean, comfortable, pet friendly with a very large enclosed garden and 5 minutes from the beach. We all had a fantastic stay, the well equipped kitchen suited our self catering needs and the huge lounge was great for relaxing in the evenings, dogs had their own beds too. Talking of beds, super comfy was the overwhelming opinion. We had the best weather too, managed to sit in the garden every day, what a sun trap. The ice cream shop is a must for a delicious treat. Such a pet friendly area.

We were a group of 4 couples and 4 dogs and we had a fantastic holiday !

! The cottage had been recommended to me by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. It’s very spacious but still warm and cosy , and it’s very well equipped. The bedrooms are all a good size and the beds are very comfortable. There’s a great size table in the kitchen which meant we could all gather round to eat and chat . The outdoor space is excellent and due to the amazing weather, we were able to make great use of it . The beautiful beach is a couple of minutes walk from the door and we were lucky to have endless blue sky and sunshine as we walked on it for miles ! Thank you Maxine for a great stay , we’ll be back

Asta Cottage is ideally located with the beach only a 5 minute walk away.

The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and perfect for groups of up to eight. Our dogs loved the supplied cushions by the log fire! The owner was very helpful and easily contactable. Nothing was too much trouble. We won’t hesitate to revisit in the future.

Cottage was lovely, well furnished and well equipped.

In a lovely location with plenty of walks for the dogs. More than dog friendly with loads of beds and blankets left for the dogs to use as well as treats, toys, dog shampoo etc. There were also plenty of board games for the adults to use too! Only things we could have done with was a stair gate and fire guard. We were travelling with a 3 year old who was into everything, he had quite a nasty accident when he fell and bumped his head on the hearth which could have been prevented with either foam around the hearth or a fire guard (a fire guard would also prevent little fingers from touching the fire when on as the fire is quite large and sticks out quite a bit- we didn't use it during our stay because of this). But overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend for anyone to stay here!

We had a wonderful time at Cresswell.

Asta cottage was very spacious for our multi generation holiday. Having three bathrooms was a definite bonus and the children loved the space to play both indoors and out. As a family with different dietary needs there was plenty of space and equipment in the kitchen to have two people cooking seperate meals, or on occasions even more. Asta cottage is one of the cleanest cottages we have stayed in and would definitely return. A lovely welcome pack was also provided. Maxine's communication was really good and we would like to give her and her team a huge thank you.

Absolutely loved the house it was amazing we were a party of 6 adults and a toddler and 4 dogs and it was very good we could have our own space and get together on a night very clean great location and maxine was on hand for any problems

We loved it! It is so homely. Very pet friendly - beds left for our three dogs. A lovely welcome package when we arrived. The kitchen is very well equipped with a lovely big kitchen table. The bedrooms were lovely with very comfortable beds. Plenty of room in the living area with four sofas and a huge log burner. The garden was fantastic - a great size to sit out, the kids to play along with the dogs and is very secure. The location of the cottage is perfect as it is minutes away from the beach. Fabulous beach walks and pretty central to visit lots of different places.

Had a fantastic stay at Asta cottage!

The house was so spacious and location was perfect. Loved our strolls along the green to the beach which was perfect for the dogs. The master suite was huge and had an amazing view to the walled garden of Pele tower which was also worth a visit. The lounge was great for film nights and everyone had a sofa! We all thoroughly enjoyed the week and are missing our evening strolls on the beach which felt tropical as the sand is so white and the water so clear!

It’s spacious and comfortable home from home. Every need is catered for including the dogs. They really enjoyed sitting on the dog cushions with us in the lounge. We stayed at Asta cottage as a group of 7 adults and 6 dogs.

The cottage had plenty of space and was very well equipped. Everyone had a great time. The beach is only a few minutes walk and there are shops close by. It is dog friendly and the courtyard garden is a good size and very secure. We would definitely book again

We have returned from a fabulous stay at Asta Cottage.

The accommodation is so lovely, well equipped, very comfortable and great location. Next door to the Pele Tower and Walled Garden (which can be seen from one of the bedroom windows). A short walk from Cresswell beach. There were 4 adults and 4 dogs staying and the dogs were as well provided for as the adults with beds, bowls, treats and towels. The enclosed yard was a big bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again in the future.

This cottage was ideal for us adults and 3 dogs (large) had everything we needed and more!

4 adults and 6 dogs stayed, the cottage is well equiped for 6 dogs providing dog beds and bowls.

The outside enclosed area was dog proof and safe. The owner is very attentative to ensure that your holiday goes well and is well informed about the area. Would definately recommend this cottage and will be going again. Some friends of ours is already interested in booking this cottage.

We had a lovely stay at the village 4 adult 2 children and 3 dogs.

The cottage was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed and more. Although we had packed prepared for our dogs there were bowls towels beds and some treats provided as well. A lovely welcome pack. We did take logs and a couple had been provided but the fire is a monster so best off being more prepared. Although the cottage was warm and cosy anyway. We ate at the driftwood cafe and the Greek there on the evening which was pricey however the food and service was fantastic. We didn’t need to venture out of cresswell the whole weekend spent our days walking up cresswell beach and across to durridge bay both were dog friendly and full of dog walkers. The driftwood cafe is also dog friendly. We had a lovely stay and would definitely consider returning.

We had such a lovely stay in Asta Cottage for our Christmas celebrations.

We arrived the day before Christmas Eve for a 4 night stay with my family including 3 dogs. We arrived to some lovely treats we enjoyed during the stay but what was particularly lovely was the beds layed out ready for our dogs and treats for them. It’s so nice knowing that our fur family are as welcome as we are, it really adds to the experience. Maxine could not have been more helpful before our stay and during. It was a busy time for everyone preparing for Christmas but she took the time to make it special. The cottage is ideal for a family with a very large living room and plenty of seating which makes a difference as we have stayed in a lot of other places when you have to either squish up on settees or get dining chairs in the room. The cottage was clean and well maintained. We would love to stay in the summer months as the garden area is lovely. One of the best parts though is how close to the beach the cottage is. You can see it from the house and very easy to get to. One tiny addition that we would have found helpful would be to have a coat rack in the corner as you come in the house. With the weather being mixed we had a lot of big coats that were wet and needed carrying through the house. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a fantastic stay we had!

We were there for 4 days and the cottage was stocked up ready for our stay, the cottage is stunning and Maxine the host even supplied our pups with little treats and bed pillows. Maxine was a fabulous host, she was extremely attentive and provided excellent information regarding the surrounding areas and recommended places to visit/ eat/ take outs etc. It was a lovely staycation, we thoroughly enjoyed it made all the better with a great accommodation. Thank you Maxine!

The property was absolutely wonderful and such a great location.

Easy access to the beach and a nice cafe and brilliant Greek restaurant all in easy walking distance. The host was so kind and generous we couldn’t have hoped for anyone more pleasant to deal with. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to friends and family.

We, as a family could not fault the property.

The owner has thought of everything to make everybody's stay a happy, comfortable and memorable one. None of us (even the children) wanted to go home - we had a brilliant week. It was definitely home from home. The owner contacted us a few days before we arrived and was available should we have needed her. Thank you for everything, you made our holiday one of best and we will definitely be back.

We stayed at Asta cottage 28th July - 3rd August and had a fantastic time there what a beautiful property very well maintained and comfortable fully enclosed outdoor space which was a must for us and our dogs even provide very comfortable beds for the dogs .

Very spacious property huge rooms with everything you need for your stay . Literally a 4 minute walk to the easily accessible beach and the ice cream shop is next door to the steps onto the beach . The Drift Cafe was down the road and very nice food too we ate at The Widdrington Inn which is a short drive away and extremely tasty food all very enjoyable x

Asta Cottage is a beautifully furnished property with very generously sized rooms and would never feel cramped even if fully occupied.

The courtyard is completely private with plenty of outdoor furniture and cushions provided. It is 100% secure for your dogs to enjoy complete freedom in and out of the property too. It is a very short walk to the beach and this whole walk is down the village green so dogs can start their walk the second you leave the property. Maxine, the owner, is in touch if you need her and nothing is too much trouble. We recieved a welcome goodies of wine, milk and coffee pods so we could relax instantly on arrival. The beach is very safe, clean and second to none in beauty with crystal clear water. It is never crowded. Will definitely be returning

My family and I had a lovely week at Asta Cottage.

It is a spacious, well appointed, well maintained home which provided us with all the facilities we needed for a family get-away. I would recommend it to anyone with a large family or a group wanting to get together in the North East.

Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Good quality fittings throughout. Spacious lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms. Every possible need for guests of all ages has been thought of and provided for. Dogs are also provided for. Excellent location, especially for those with dogs. An absolute gem!

Could have been a lot cleaner.

We had to remove our car roof box as where you park has low beams which means you can’t park anything taller then a car. Fantastic location and lovely cottage. We did however have a fantastic holiday and yes we would recommend.

Asta Cottage is well prepared for up to 8, with plenty of space, storage and kitchen equipment.

Maxine's communications were friendly and helpful. Highchair and large travel cot were available for our 2 yr. old. The outside space is securely enclosed. and there is parking for 2 cars, but no problem to park further vehicles on the main road or in the close opposite. Pele Tower next door is very interesting, open days are run by very enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. The beach, 5 minutes walk away, goes on for miles, and was mostly empty in September, when we were there. Fish and chip shop and cafe nearby. All in all we had a lovely relaxing break and would highly recommend.

Lovely place, needed a down stairs wet room rather than a shower over bath.

No information on the balcony been taken down. Otherwise a lovely place to stay.

great cottage ideal for a family and dogs owner brilliant and very helpful

The property suited us with 2 couples and 3 dogs It was spacious and the master bed was so comfy we wanted to take it home!

One small thing was the garden area and the furniture was not very comfy and maybe the addition of a barbecue would be good.

The pillows were hard and uncomfortable but after I told her Maxine went straight out and bought new, softer ones!

She is very friendly and helpful and really cares that her guests enjoy their stay.

This cottage I in a ideal location close to the beach plenty of room very quiet and relaxing all the comforts of home and excellent base to explore the rest of Northumberland

Clean everything that we needed. The 3 dogs ranging from a 7 month old to 2 more ancient dogs couldn't have been happier. Could not fault the cottage in any resect .

We had a super stay at Asta Cottage.

We found it to be comfortable and clean and very spacious. The kitchen was very well equipped and even had a Nespresso coffee machine! It was lovely to have milk, Chocolates and wine provided as a welcome gift, along with a few treats for the dog. The location is excellent and only a 5 minute walk from Cresswell Beach. There’s a very pretty communal green outside the property which is well maintained. Needless to say, we will be back again!

Asta Cottage is in a fabulous location, within a couple of minutes walk to an amazing beach!

We were welcomed with a few essentials and a much appreciated bottle of wine and chocolates - a lovely touch. The cottage is well equipped with absolutely everything you might need in the kitchen - far better than I've come across in other cottages. It also has lots of lovely extras such as buckets and spades, plus all you might want for a picnic. The TV is the biggest I've ever seen and comes with a Sky package. The lounge is huge and filled with chairs and sofas, so there's plenty of room for everyone! There were just a small few negatives which, obviously, are subjective but did affect our stay. The heating in the upstairs large en suite room was not working correctly. I did have a conversation with the owner about it which was helpful but didn't solve the problem. I'm no plumber but I believe the radiators need bleeding since they were lukewarm at the bottom and stone cold at the top. The hot water bottles were a nice touch and well needed. The ground floor en suite bedroom would be perfect for someone with limited mobility - however this is the only bathroom which has an over bath shower (the upstairs bathrooms have walk-in showers). We all agreed that this bathroom would have been much better if it was more accessible. Overall, we had a great holiday and I would return to Asta Cottage!

Asta is a fantastic cottage, had everything we needed and more!

A perfect base to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast and very dog friendly. We will definitely return for a Summer trip. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous family holiday at Asta Cottage.

The property was warm and welcoming and we arrived to a lovely little welcome pack. The owner, Maxine was most helpful, informative and easy to contact. The cottage is very light and airey and was spotlessly clean on arrival but not the sort of place you would be frightened to make yourself at home, it was homely and functioned well for our family of 6 and 3 dogs. Cresswell village was just what we had hoped for, very quiet and on the coast, beautiful beaches and a good location to explore down to Newcastle and up to the Scottish boarders

Recently returned from a wonderful break at Asta Cottage.

The house was one of the best equipped we have stayed in which was perfect for cosy nights in cooking and dining in the spacious kitchen and then settling in front of a roaring log fire, great views of the sea. Cresswell off season was perfect with its beautiful beach perfect for dog walking would also recommend Druridge and the pretty town of Warkworth. The family loved the little touches on arrival fresh flowers tea coffee and chocolates and we would all recommend a stay in this immaculate well loved home to anyone. Many thanks to the owners from us all.

Beach walks were brilliant. Maxine was lovely left us all treats. Can not thank her enough. There were books games and more than enough space for us all. The living-room had a fabulous entertainment system and the log fire was great. Would return

The Property is lovely, big and airy and well equipped.

Lots of space for a family of 7 with a dog and a baby. We had an issue in the upstairs en suite where the water in the shower had to be plunged as it was backing up, but once plunged it drained normally. And the downstairs bedroom was very cold, it did heat up but was very cold on the first night so our gran had to sleep upstairs (stairs are an effort for her so we'd booked the cottage as it had a downstairs bedroom that she could use). But overall we loved the cottage and the hot water bottles were a very nice touch, we'd stay again.

Had all features and amenities. Travelled with grandparents staying in the downstairs bedroom and 3 young children upstairs. Fantastic facilities for the dog. Kitchen had everything for lots of cooking. 3 minutes walk to the beach and lovely café just behind the sand dunes. Would highly recommend !

The holiday my was perfect the cottage was everything it was advertised large plenty of room the location was perfect the beach was clean and very large if you want a family Holliday I can not recommend this cottage enough

Very spacious, comfortable & well-equipped property - more of a house than cottage - extremely close to Cresswell's beautiful sandy beach.

Maxine the owner is very helpful and quick in replying and could not have been a nicer host. We would highly recommend this holiday property and our party of 6 including teenage boys and grandparents all thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Cresswell Ices just by the beach sells delicious homemade ice-cream and whilst the village doesn't have any other shops/pubs there are plenty nearby and we enjoyed the peaceful setting. The Northumberland coast is just stunning with plenty to see and do. A fabulous holiday all round.
