Belford 1.5 miles. North Wing is a simply fantastic property settled into the charming Middleton Hall Estate near Belford. With simply dreamy living spaces, and sleeping eleven guests, this abode is an ideal base for a group of friends, or a family looking to explore the wonders of the Northumberland countryside.
Be welcomed into this large, historic and impressive neo-Tudor wing, which was originally added to the main property in 1871, but after a fire destroyed the property in 1915 it was rebuilt, starting in 1925, using materials from nearby Haggerston Castle.
The grand kitchen with wood paneled walls, is a characterful space to cook up a storm and enjoy breakfast, and there is also a formal dining room for hearty meals.
The sitting room rests on the first floor, offering plush seating where guests can recline before the impressive, ornate open fire and warm their feet after a long day of exploring the local area. Also on the first floor, two well-presented bedrooms await, as well as a refreshing bathroom, so choose between a king-size which can be set up as a twin on request, and a family room with a double and single bed.
Venture to the second floor to discover a charming king-size zip-link room with a free-standing bath and en-suite cloakroom, a super-king-size with tall ceilings and wooden beams, and a twin, as well as a second, spacious bathroom.
Outside, make the most of the sitting areas available, or take a stroll through the grounds.
There is simply so much to be explored with a stay at the fantastic North Wing.

We arrived at the property at 4pm and were unable to get in for one and a half hours.
We were informed that the door would be open with the key inside, but it was locked and we didn't have a code to the keysafe for the spare key. We tried repeatedly calling 2 numbers to contact the owner who did eventually ring back. Our young granddaughter was desperate to get in and use the toilet after her long journey, but a guest at a neighbouring property kindly let her use their toilet. Upon eventually entering one of the first things we find is 2 mugs in the kitchen sink filled with mouldy dregs and a tea bag, which looked as though they had been there for weeks. Very offputting! I also had to clean the windowsill in the twin bedroom as it was covered with black bits and dead flies. The property itself is very impressive, in a great location and we had a lovely holiday. But there were a number of issues which has brought my review rating down. One of which is that, for a property which sleeps 11 people, there were no saucepans, just a small milk pan and 2 frying pans. This made cooking family meals challenging to say the least. And no chopping board, we were terrified we were going to spoil the lovely granite surface or the table! Sorry to seem very picky, but it wouldn't cost a lot to remedy this and bring ratings up to 5 sta
Potential to be great, however its currently tired, in need of some restoration.
Namely mould, damp and plenty of stained carpets. Mouldy shower seals and a pot of dead cigarettes at the front door. Lovely! With a bit of TLC (builders are currently renovating) it will be a great venue.
Wonderful large property perfect for a big family get away!
Comfy beds and plenty of amenities. Lovely big bathrooms. Only negative was it could have been a bit cleaner. The fridges were both really dirty and we had to clean them before we used them. Quite a lot of cobwebs and dust in some of the bathrooms. Other than that this is was ideal.
