“Unfortunately we didn't have a very comfortable week, we found the sofas in the lounge very uncomfortable, we felt like we were being pushed forward rather than sitting back comfortably.”

The heating was mostly lovely but the small bedroom was extremely hot, the rad seemed to be raging hot all the time so we had to turn it off then it was too cold - we had a baby in the room so it was a difficult situation. The shower was very erratic and hard to turn down the heat, it seemed scalding hot or lukewarm. The bathroom was freezing cold even when the radiator was on all the time. Its a shame as we paid a lot to stay there and felt it wasn't as good as several other places we have ...

The shower was very erratic and hard to turn down the heat, it seemed scalding hot or lukewarm. The bathroom was freezing cold even when the radiator was on all the time. Its a shame as we paid a lot to stay there and felt it wasn't as good as several other places we have recently booked and stayed in with Sykes in Northumberland. We also saw a cute little mouse run out from under the fridge (these things cant be helped in the countryside but maybe worth letting the landlord know). That said, it is in a lovely location, the beach nearby, the little shop had everything and the pubs were amazing including the free parking at the golf club and coffee in the clubhouse after our walks.

Thank you for your feedback . We appreciate that things happen, but are unable to address issues if they are not raised with the management company at the time as detailed in the guest handbook . It is frustrating to receive such comments after the event without having had the opportunity to put things right . I understand that you may not have wanted to be disturbed during your stay but highlighting these issues in the maintenance book provided would have allowed remedial action before our next guests arrived . The sofas are less than 2 years old and we have them in other properties we own too. There have been no negative comments about them previously, so this could be a just a personal preference. None of the issues raised have been highlighted by previous guests but we (as always) will seek to address them for future guests. Property Owner

About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.

Note: This property will only accept full weekly bookings, apologies no short breaks - weekly bookings must begin on Saturday
