A spacious, clean property with everything needed for a week long stay.

Owner communications were excellent and the owner was very quick to respond to issues and resolve issues - namely a glitchy TV remote control which was replaced with a brand new one within a day.

A really comfortable and homely cottage .

We loved the location ,the cottage was spacious and well equiped and very peaceful .Craig ,the owner ,was really helpful and communicated well throughout our stay .Would happily recommend the cottage and we hope to stay there again in the future .

We (group of 4 adults) just had a really good week at the cottage.

The facilities and equipment especially in the kitchen was excellent. Craig, the owner was very helpful with lots of local knowledge and information. A lovely cottage but worth pointing out that all the bathrooms are downstairs. Embleton is a good location for exploring the area and wonderful coast.

It was the best equipped property that we have ever stayed in and had a garden that was a sun trap. It was in a quiet location and we will be booking again for next year. The owner was very helpful too .

The property was very clean and comfortable with every facility you could want. It is spacious, bright and well equipped and the owner was very helpful and friendly. Embleton is in a very good position to access all the lovely areas of coastal Northumberland and has two very good eateries and a village shop. The local village hall (Creighton Hall) in the centre of the village also often has events on.

Cranage was a great base for exploring this area.

Although he was on holiday the property owner was in touch often to ensure all was going well. Property was clean and comfortable with easy to use kitchen appliances. There was a lovely well maintained garden for sitting out in.

Craig is a lovely host.

Cottage is warm, comfy and has everything you need. Beautiful peaceful area and easy to access all the sights of Northumberland. Bus timetables should be taken with a pinch of salt but do go to local attractions!

A 10 to 15 minute walk from the beach. Spotlessly clean, well presented and provisioned. Really helpful information in the cottage for touring, walking etc and for use of facilities. Good off road parking for 2 cars. Would definitely return.

Lovely holiday home with everything you need and a great position to explore the coast and beyond.

The owner was extremely helpful and supplied all necessary supplies (milk,tea,coffee,sugar,washing tabs etc). The house was very well maintained and the beds clean and comfortable.

Property was lovely.

Owner had thought of everything. Liked the fact that cleaning supplies were provided, reduced the amount of things we needed to bring. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment. Garden was beautiful, loved the animal game. Owner replied to queries quickly.

Quiet location and off road parking for 2 cars. Approx 20 minute walk to the beach. Craig was very helpful and made us feel very welcome to Cra-na-ge. Very useful having 2 shower rooms for our family of 6 adults and a baby. Would recommend.

Thanks Craig we enjoyed staying at Cra-na-ge, your property has a lovely homely feel and has everything you could need for a self catering holiday, including umbrellas (which unfortunately we did use as the July weather was very mixed).

The location in Embleton is wonderful, central to travel north towards Bamburgh or south towards nature reserves at Low Hauxley and Druridge Bay but a big plus for us was the fact that your property is in a village where people actually live and give you the time of day there is still a school and a community, not just second homes.

Seldom do you see a holiday let so well stocked and prepared- Craig had thought of everything. He was extremely welcoming and was on hand for any help we might need. The cottage is really well situated and very comfortable. It was a great base to explore the local area. We would definitely like to return for a further visit.

Really enjoyed our stay, Craig the owner could not have been more helpful.

We took our bikes with us and Craig allowed us to lock them in his summer house in the garden. The gardens front and rear were well kept and were great for sitting out in the sunshine. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped The location is delightful very close to Craster Dunstanburgh , nice pubs nearby Would we stay there again. Yes we would.

We got to meet the owner which was a nice personal touch, and he gave us lots of information on the area too. The cottage was in a beautiful village with one of my now favourite beaches a short walk away. We would definitely recommend.

A nice cottage in a good location for exploring Northumberland.

We were welcomed by the owner in person and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. There is a lovely sandy beach within walking distance which goes as far as Dunstanburgh Castle - if you like a fairly long walk!

The holiday cottage was beautiful inside and out.

We were a family 5, 2 adults and 3 children. The house was very clean, was fully equipped with everything. You do not need to bring anything!! Craig has literally thought of everything. When we arrived, we were greeted with milk, teabags coffee and a newspaper and cake. He asked us if we needed anything else and was prepared to bring what we needed but we were ok. He came to see us in the evening to show us round the cottage. He even went out of his way to learn a bit of sign language as my mum and my 12 yr old are profoundly deaf and this made their day. The cottage is in a beautiful peaceful location and is not far from all the attractions. Our favourite place was beadnell beach, it's paradise. kids enjoyed doing nature/ animal hunt in the garden. The washing machine and dryer is a god send, luckily the weather was on our side most days so was able to peg it out. Thank you Craig it was lovely to meet you and thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage. We will back again.

The cottage was very well equipped, clean and comfortable, with a safe, enclosed garden great for the kids.

We had a baby with us and everything was provided, including a baby bath which was useful as there is no bath in the property (it has two showers). The location of the cottage is in a quiet cul-de-sac in Embleton, a lovely village a short distance from the beach which remains wonderfully unspoilt even though it is over 30 years since I last visited. Fabulous cottage in brilliant location.

Loads of space for a family of 5. Very hospitable owner who went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time. Best holiday cottage we’ve stayed in!

Immaculately clean house with everything we needed.

The owner Craig was welcoming and helpful who went out of his way to provide milk bread and paper and eggs for our arrival. No need to bring cleaning materials everything provided. Thanks Craig

Quiet location but only a 5 min walk to shop and pubs/restaurants. Great secure gardens and excellent clothes washing facilities. Add the dryer to the description info? We will return. Thank you Craig. It was nice to meet you.

Arguably the best Sykes Cottage I've stayed in over many years.

Best in that it more than adequately equipped, really clean and well maintained. Craig was extremely helpful and took a genuine personal interest in the cottage, its condition, and all its fittings. Full marks 10 out of 10 - A -Star.

Great holiday home.

Really well equipped and in a perfect location to explore the beautiful area. Craig (the owner) is super helpful with everything. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a fab time.

Owner very welcoming and very helpful. Children appreciated the task of searching garden for "animals" etc. It is in a lovely part of the Northumbrian coastline but perhaps I m biased as I am Northumbrian born!

I thought it was nice how all the cleaning items were supplied by the owner, Craig.

It was good having plenty of glassware, pots and pans.

It is comfortable and very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Craig was very friendly and helpful explaining where everything was. The village is ideal for exploring the lovely coast or walking inland. The weather was kind and we had a lovely time. From the comments book some people come back regularly. We would too if it wasn't quite so far from home. Thank you again Craig.

Due to a covid diagnosis we cut the holiday short after 2 days. Despite having paid for insurance, several requests to discuss at least a partial refund have been denied. Apparently we could have done our 10 days quarantine in a cottage we had booked for 7 days. I won’t be booking with you again and I will not be recommending you.

We have been to cranage before and love the personal touch offered by the owner who makes it a home away from home.

First class and would recommend this venue to others.

This is a lovely, peaceful home in a quiet village with a large garden, off-road parking and easy access to the coast.

Craig, the owner, is very helpful and friendly, and easy to contact if needed. On arrival Craig guided us around the cottage and advised on use of appliances etc. As a couple with no children we found the cottage roomy and comfortable with everything that we needed available. (There were items of equipment available to keep children safe if needed, such as stair gates, high chair etc; Craig has thought of everything). The county of Northumberland is beautiful with numerous opportunities for seeing wildlife and nature, walking along sandy beaches and finding little coves and even castles. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cra-an-ge Cottage and would stay there again.

Cottage is clean, comfortable, well-equipped.

Well located for many Northumbrian attractions (Alnwick gardens, Lindisfarne, Bamborough, to name just 3, and of course, all the stunning beaches). Local village fish and chips recommended!

Craig was a brilliant host, he kept in touch and was on hand if we needed anything.

We didn't need anything the whole place was equipped with everything we needed, even the knives were sharp! Great location, exceptionally clean and a very peaceful location. I would definitely go back and the owner made it for us as he told us the best places to go and visit.

The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the house is very comfortable.

The owner made contact by text several times (due to Covid we are not allowed a face to face welcome) and was very friendly and keen to ensure we arrived safely and were comfortable. When we had a minor snag with blunt kitchen knives he was straight on it. We all had a wonderful time! Thank you.

Home from home. Walking distance to amenities. Excellent walks and lots of interesting villages to explore

I have put "Exceeded" simply because the place was so homely and comfortable and extremely well equipped the owner contacted me a time or too to see everything was alright and was most pleasant.

I cannot think of anything by way of improving the place or facilities.

We had a very comfortable stay.

There was everything we needed and Craig was very helpful, showing us around the property, answering any questions we had and seeing us off at the end of the week. We will definitely be back, it was a lovely quiet location. Thanks Craig (and also for the homemade jam, we loved it).

A Lovely week spent in this clean and comfortable cottage in a quiet location.

It proved to be an excellent choice for exploring this beautiful part of England. Because of our late arrival on the Saturday Night, Craig the owner went above the call of duty to ensure that we had the makings of a meal on our arrival, a gesture that was deeply appreciated. I can’t recommend the property highly enough, thank you.

We had a great week and it was lovely to come back at the end of the day to enjoy a drink in the garden.

The owner greeted us on arrival and the cottage was very clean which was reassuring in light of the current situation. Didn't tick ' exceeded expectations' only because we have stayed here before so we knew what to expect. A well equipped property and in a great location.

Mostly the holiday was wonderful.

The location is excellent, the property is spacious and comfortable. We had an issue with the boiler that took a day or so to fix. Not terrible, but it did put a little damper on the start of the holiday. Aside from that one niggle, we had a great couple of weeks away.

A lovely comfortable cottage within easy walking distance of beautiful beaches.

A really good base to explore all the castles and other attractions in the area. Plenty of nice places to eat and far too many nice shops to spend money in! We had a wonderful time staying at Cranage.

Spotless property, very homely with everything needed available!

One improvement I would suggest is a more powerful shower, as the property does not have a bath, I would have preferred a better shower.

Parking is not that easy.

Our car is not large (Peugeot 2008) A larger car would certainly find it difficult to access the driveway space. Other parked vehicles on roadway make it tricky.

What an absolute amazing place.

The cottage was very well equipped and the owner Craig could not do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. It is in a lovely little village with so many amazing places to visit not fat away.

Very well equipped with lots of child friendly features. Well situated for visits to the beach, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Seahouses etc. Owner Craig is very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely week and would recommend to anyone.

This is an extremely well equipped and comfortable cottage in a perfect position for exploring Northumberland's coastal region.

The house had everything we needed - including equipment for our 18month old - and lovely sunny gardens with off road parking. Craig was a great host, very helpful and easy to get hold of if we needed him. There is so much to see and do here with outstanding beaches, castles and boat trips. B Best trip was the Farne Islands boat trip to see the Puffins and seals. Best meal out was the Treehouse restaurant in Alnwick Gardens.

Had a brilliant time.

Craig the owner was very helpful and friendly. He left us some starters...washing up liquid, milk and some homemade jam. All in all very enjoyable.

Ideal location for touring Northumberland.

Nice to have several freeview flat screen TVs with DVD players. Everything was clean and tidy.

The house was perfect for us.

The garden is a great space for the children to play in. The house was very comfortable. The living room was a great size for us. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen we have ever come across in a holiday house. On the information given by Sykes it says we need to take out own bedding. This was not the cas so that could do with being amended on the information.
