“We really enjoyed our family stay at Tree Tops a couple of weeks ago.”

The flat was very well equipped in the kitchen, and the dishwasher and washing machine were great assets. Beds were very comfortable. Please in hot weather, supply a top sheet and not just a duvet. Far too warm for this. The one real concern, which cannot be changed anyways, were the interior double glazed windows. We stayed in a very hot spell of weather so the windows had to be opened. The design of these dg windows would be fine in the winter, but dangerous, awkward and frustrating in warmer weather. It is very easy to be knocked by those sharp corners. We propped them open by cushions - not ideal. Could I suggest wedges - 2 per window since the window ledges are a good depth- which could secure the windows ajar? We could not figure out how to turn on the left hand oven. The location was brilliant, and the written instructions were thorough. Thanks for the welcome gifts. Greatly appreciated. We have an Airbnb cottage so are maybe more observant than other guests, and appreciative of the extra little touches. Thank you very much for a very enjoyable family stay, from the 4year old to the 74 year old.

We are delighted that you had an enjoyable stay at Treetops and found the property comfortable and well equipped. We appreciate your comments about the interior double glazed windows and your suggestion about wedges to secure the windows open. We will look into this as a solution when we are next at the property. Property Owner

About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
