“Great location and excellent parking, especially after seeing how hard it was to find a park space within Bamburgh itself.”
Facilities in cottage good. Couches in living room were a bit on the small side and a bit hard for sitting on but beds were comfy. Facilities in cottage good. Couches in living room were a bit on the small side and a bit hard for sitting on but beds were comfy. Unfortunately we didn't get the best first impression of the place - walked in to a cottage full of flies, spiders and small insects. I assume this was because maybe windows had been left open earlier to air it, and I appreciate that being situated out in the countryside you are going to get some insects, but some of the cobwebs that were around won't have just been there one day. First thing we did was try to get a brush and knock the worst of them down. On the bed a duster was left lying and the king size bed hadn't been made into a twin as requested so we spent the next 30 mins on the phone in various queues to speak to someone about coming to rectify this. Thankfully someone appeared a couple of hours later to sort it out, and brought a can of fly spray. I would suggest you get rid of the picture in frames and go for picture canvas's instead as there were a lot of little bugs trapped under the glass which gave the impression of a lack of attention to detail when it came cleaning. Despite this, all the party agreed that if we were to return to the area, we would stay in this cottage again as very convenient and with a picturesque view of Bamburgh Castle from the living room window.
