    “Great communication from Lizzy pre arrival.”

    Welcome pack included an amazing Victoria sponge and dog treats and Lizzy popped in to check all was ok and give some local recommendations. Great cottage, front enclosed lawned garden and rear enclosed private courtyard both with seating and caught the sun at different times of the day. Inside was amazing, everything you need, loved the stone floors, very dog friendly, beds very comfy, try to get the bedroom with the window in the roof, plenty of hot water, heating thermostat, large bath, ...

Inside was amazing, everything you need, loved the stone floors, very dog friendly, beds very comfy, try to get the bedroom with the window in the roof, plenty of hot water, heating thermostat, large bath, lovely towels. Plenty of plates/ cutlery, coffee machine and cafeteria. Everything you need for a perfect stay. If you stand in the garden you get to see an amazing night sky and hear an Owl in the distance. Shoulder of mutton pub (recommended) and corner shop (closes early afternoon), fish and chip van on a Friday evening all an easy stroll away. Linden hall hotel has a pub/ bar also recommended. Quiet roads. Great base, we used Morpeth for food shopping and take aways, but travelled the whole coast up to Bamburgh/ Holy island across to Coldstream, Kielder and all the beaches, lovely seafood restaurants in Amble. Amazing week in a great cottage in an amazing part of the country.

Enter the utility room through the back door; it has a washing machine and dryer, which is useful for staying on top of your laundry during your stay.

Continue into the spacious kitchen that features plenty of rustic charm and original stonework.

Rothbury 9 miles; Alnwick 14 miles.

The pretty village of Longhorsley sits at the heart of rural Northumberland, between the Cheviots and the coast and provides great access to a range of great walks and cycle routes. The village offers a local pub serving good food, a hairdressers and a local store. The bustling village of Rothbury lies just 9 miles to the west, nestling between the Simonside and Lordenshaw Hills with the River Coquet meandering through the centre. Brinkburn Priory is a pleasant, short drive away - a restored Augustinian Priory in a most lovely setting beside the River Coquet. On the outskirts of Rothbury is the National Trust’s Cragside House and Gardens, whilst the Heritage Coast with its many grand, historic castles and miles of golden sandy beaches is just 20 minutes’ drive to the east.
