“The oven and skirting board in the bathroom issues shared with the owner.”

Otherwise the house was clean and warm, could be more generous with toilet rolls and dishwasher tabs. The dishwasher was a little small for four. The owners were helpful and friendly when my car broke down outside and very keen on feedback.

“The rear of the property faces east and as such gets very little sunlight making the lounge dark and cold in the late morning and afternoon.”

The garden of the property to the right as you look down the garden is very overgrown and the ivy is now encroaching onto this property and round the bedroom window. The trees at the rear are very tall and thus block out the sunlight. The garden has not been maintained and the grass was very long. In our opinion the garden was not fit for purpose and certainly not somewhere where you would want to sit. There were a couple of issues regarding the kitchen. No kitchen scissors or tongs and no tin foil or cling film (minor items we appreciate but would have been nice to have). The dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid and was therefore not cleaning the pots. The rubber seal on the oven door was broken. When we came to use the hoover it left a horrible smell and presumably needed the bag emptying but we couldn't find any spare bags. Whilst we accept these are issues that might not bother other people they are things that we have not encountered before. Sadly we would not return. On a positive note Warkworth is a beautiful village and both the Masons Arms and Bertrams are definitely well worth a visit for good food. The walk along the riverbank and to the beach made this holiday.

Ideally located in the centre of Warkworth, within a few minutes walk of the local pubs and shops. Warkworth beach is an easy walk as it is just under a mile away. You can also have a lovely walk beside the River Coquet to Amble, which is also just a mile away.

Some lovely places to visit and we appreciated the dog bowls, towel and toy. Many by places are just dog tolerant and not really dog friendly. We will certainly look to visit here again.

“Castle View is a superb place to stay with breathtaking views of Warkworth Castle.”

The village centre is only a few minutes walk away, or you can have a wander to the beach or Amble, which are both only a mile away. The property was extremely clean, comfortable, spacious and homely. We couldn’t have asked for more. Both front and rear gardens were safe and secure for our Labrador. Our welcome pack, along with Henry’s treats, were gratefully received. We were lucky enough to meet the owners on our departure and were able to pass on our thanks personally. We really can’t speak highly enough of Castle View. We will definitely be back. Thank you

“Fantastic location, tucked away from main road but with easy access to town, riverside walks and stunning beach.”

Secure garden was perfect for our dog with entrance hall an added bonus for drying off muddy paws and shoes before entering main house. Beds were so comfortable it was hard to leave them on a morning!

Such a homely feel to it and well stocked with kitchenware etc. View from the front door was amazing. Warkworth is such a lovely spot and ideal for exploring the coastline. Perfect for a dog as garden is very enclosed. It was the perfect holiday cottage for us.

The comfortable accommodation which benefits from two bathrooms and 3 bedrooms and a large enclosed garden makes an ideal base in which to explore Warkworth and the surrounding area. Just a short walk from Castle View is the River Coquet where an array of wildlife can be seen, the historic and picturesque village with its amenities, pubs, tea rooms and galleries or walk further to the unspoilt beach where you can walk all the way to St Cuthbert’s Cross, opposite Alnmouth. ACCOMMODATION GROUND FLOOR Entrance hall with ample room for storing coats, boots etc and access to shower room. Shower room with shower, WC and basin. Kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer and microwave. Dining room with table and chairs. Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
